  1. Better off selling it altogether and buying a mint GTt with a few mods, easier and actually cheaper than engine swapping your n/a, you'll have to get the triple guage cluster, new brakes and the motor and at the end of the day it will just be a real expensive r34GT. As far as the kit, it's your car, your money. I'm not gonna tell you how to spend your hard earned (although I will happily spend it for you ) So just do what you feel is right. As long as you don't get carried away and add GTR badges I don't see how you're trying to make it something it's not, the aforementioned engine swapping would be more like that. I personally hate lowered cars, just me that's all; a lowered car just screams uncomfy, babied around speed humps and completely off balance during cornering(lowered by coilovers is a different story), but that's just me as i said. Do what you want, even thought it's n/a r34's are a lot better than the majority of oz delivered cars of the same vintage. The bumper is a nismo one, pretty sure carmate in sydney does a copy version. GTR wing I had was a lowered version which decreased visibility of cars about 2 second gap behind, the rest was fine I bought mine off someone here on the forums, I'll be farked if I can remember what I paid it was that long ago
  2. Car: 2007 V36 370GT SP 3.7 vq37HR Gas of Choice: BP ultimate, Caltex Vortex $ Per Tank: $70-90 depending on prices Kilometers Per Tank (Based On Driving Area & Driving Style): just did 550 klms before the fuel light came on, the distance to empty meter showed 70 klms left. Will eventually get better milage as the engine sees more klm's. An exhaust, high flow filters and an a/f controller should see solid gains and better economy from what I've read on us G37 sites Other Comments: The car also has an average fuel consumption display which says so far I'm averaging 7-8L p/100klms, but the car hasn't covered enough klms yet to make accurate readings
  3. Yeah, go GTR spoiler, here's my old one if you need any more convincing...
  4. Yeah I know, I'm 21 and even I felt strange typing what I did. Just thought what they did was in bad taste given the current climate with hoons and the media and all this 'public' outcry for action. Then you have some old guy on the television treating the segment like a destruction derby, only to have his colleagues high 5 and 'good on ya mate' to him, saying they would do the same
  5. Taking off the wing is the easy part, just remove the trim covering the boot lid and there's two screw holes on both sides, 4 bolts all up. loosen the nuts and washer while being careful not to let them drop into the lid itself as the boot lid is made of two layers. Might be an idea to have somebody hold the wing in place as you loosen up the bolts. Filling the holes need to be done professionally to look right which is the exxy/pain in the @ss part. You could tape it up or put rubber grommets but it will look ghetto.
  6. Sorry to get all Grandpa on everyone, Is it just me or is everyone else okay with what the old blonde guy did to drive into the door of the camry during their little paddock bash? All jokes aside my 15y.o little bro was watching the show with me and have to say that's not the kind of behavior I'd like him to see behind the wheel of any car in ANY situation, didn't help the fact later on they high 5'd each other for doing so That just spelled reckless and d#ckhead in my books, and I'm probably the last person who could claim they are an angel on the road. Especially with all the effort the government has put in to spend my tax dollars on Draconian driving laws and all the hype of P-plater restrictions. I surely can't be the only one who feels this way?
  7. Any V series welcome? I'll have my custom plates by end of Nov too
  8. Spotted a Bayside Blue GTR with white rims (TE37s?) on Mulgoa road about 12ish today, very nice car. I was in the silver v36, hi if you're on here
  9. Pulling up at a set of lights and having a Euro driver look curiously at the car, then snob it off in an envious manner
  10. Try this in the japan section oif the forums, if you haven't tried already. I recently posted an auction sheet on there and asked really nicely, someone out there is always willing to lend a helping hand mate
  11. Thanks Guys the engine is stupidly effortless. You can be cruising along in 60 and not hear a thing and the engine becomes a screaming banshee when you plant your foot down, difference from my last cars was the majority of the noise came from the exhaust. The sounds coming from this car is all engine. Fark imagine when I put a full exhaust in! Criticism would be the weight of the car, definitely more a car for the older japanese business man who still wants to mix it up on the wangan if the mood takes him, turn in is nowhere near as crisp as my old r34/350z and you can feel the weight pull through when you take a corner hard, but in true skyline fashion it makes up for this by predictable/manageable handling. I've been playing around with the function display (all in Japanese) and the reversing camera will actually trace a line on screen depending on your steering angle to help judge where the car will go and also does this with a camera integrated into the left side vision mirror so you can avoid wheel scrapes Even the paddle shifters have leather on them. I thought the 350z was a century in front of the r34 interior wise, the v36 puts the 350z interior to shame and them mocks it's inadequacy. All in all very happy with it so far, and I'd better be too as this will be my last car for a long time Thanks again, PJ
  12. Def Interested
  13. Perfect Fitment, well done Can't go wrong with GTC's
  14. This is going ages back when I saw it, but there was a mechanic workshop along parramatta road near Hebersham, and the sign read something like; "the best head jobs in sydney" or something close
  15. More to pics to come hey, Just raining where I am so I'll take pics later Cheers, I should've re-worded my above questions, does the VVEL engine system get in the way of modifications? eg If I change the fuel ratios will that screw up the electronic wizardry of the vvel? thanks again
  16. Just had a peek at the exhaust system and it's very restrictive, two small pipes running to the large muffler at the back
  17. Hi guys, Just took delivery of my brand new 370GT. Power delivery is awesome even with an auto box, although I admit it does try to second guess itself on the odd occasion by shifting itself up is D"s" mode when I'm just throttling to keep up speed or holding onto a gear a tad too long, other than that the shifts are very quick and upshifts on the paddle rev match beautifully. Anybody know if the New VVEL system takes kindly to mods in the form of a full exhaust system with extractors, hi-flow panel filter and air/fuel controller. Cheers, PJ
  18. Seeing as how I've sold off my old cars I will officially introduce myself as I'm the proud new owner of a 2007 Skyline V36 370GT SP. Big thanks to IMG motorsport in sydney for helping me and also letting me sit in their R35's This car is awesome, I've had a 350z prior and the build quality of this car is leap years ahead. 0-100km/h in a blink. Side mirror and reversing camera, hard drive to record video and music for playback, tv and satnav(working on getting it working in oz) even a joystick on the left side of the steering column to let you adjust the steering wheel up down and in and out. Just a shame I couldn't hold out for the manual version, my new job means I travel a lot so An auto isn't so bad for that. 19" wheels, Sticky Potenza rubber and massive brakes If you see me driving around give me a wave Cheers, PJ Plans are to keep everything as is looks wise, Full Exhaust, extractors but keep it all quiet as possible High flow panel filters Air/fuel controller
  19. I thought the rear quarters were a homage to the old 240z? Although the 240z was corvette like in itself
  20. O_o you can't make such a c#ckteasing comment like that without elaborating!
  21. thanks howie
  22. Might be jumping the gun, as I'm still pending finance but I'd love to bring my v36 out for a cruise when I get it. I'm in sydney, and yes it will be silver lol
  23. Maybe I could shed light on the subject as I've recently sold both of these cars. If you have any worries with the wear and tear of R34's you just need to find a decent one with all the tell tale signs it's been looked after. It took me 5 months before finding an r34 that I was happy with. My 350z was my daily driver, it was a 2006 spec with xenons and led tail lights 221kw fast for putting around and the engine loved mid range driving through town, effortless on the highway and felt stable all around. Doesn't seem as 'fast' when I drove the R34 even though they were fairly close in acceleration to each other. This lends to the superior chassis rigidity and build quality. Cabin is a bit cramped, and I'm only 5"7 lol but not bad. The massive strut tower in the back really gets in the way when you want to put bulky items in the boot. Looks are subjective but the 350z stock standard is a thing of beauty to me. My r34 was a '98 GT-t. Factory Sunroof, Bilsteins, Nismo wheels and a whole host of bolt ons. The modification process sure is addictive and I'd do it again. I loved customising each aspect of my car and building it to my tastes. Not saying it couldn't be done with a 350z, but the aftermarket support for parts are massive for the skyline compared to the 350z purely because the r34 has been around longer. It was fast, rough around the edges and ballsy, typical tuner car, I loved it to bits. My Recommendation: both cars are good for different reasons, but... If you have the coin for a 350z, I would personally skip the step I took and seriously look into a V36 Skyline. coupes have a 3.7L vQ engine 240kw standard. Cons are manual isn't available yet, japanese tv and satnav features are useless, but the build quality is a giant leap forward compared to the 350z. I was staunchly against getting the auto but even the auto surprised me, put your foot down and you've hit 100km/h before you know what hit you. My new Job means I'll be travelling a lot and sydney traffic sucks balls, so I guess I can get used to an auto. Here's my one I'll be getting soon, pending bank finance. If you haven't guessed yet I love silver, no better colour to accentuate a cars curves and lines.
  24. I'd be interested in the cruise. I'm waiting for finance approval from my bank but with luck I'll be the owner of a v36 by saturday. Odd it doesn't come with cruise, i completely forgot about it How much for the english button panel? Is it from the infiniti? Any manuals translated in english so I can navigate the screen menu? I tried playing a cd and it recorded it onto the hard drive hehe
