  1. not always true, I've had my r34 for more than 2 years and only just got off my P's a week ago. In that time only pulled over 3 times, 2 RBT's 1 I powerslided a corner and an undercover copper saw me (stupid I know, bad day, brain explosion, my bad) undercover cop asked me why I did what I did, I was very apologetic and admitted I was in the wrong, let off with a warning. 1 RBT was breath tested then let go, the other one they made me pop the bonnet, but was let off with a warning about the exposed pod to get fixed. I say it's more your attitude and driving than anything else
  2. my Power FC hand controller volt readout will vary from 12.1 to 12.5 highest and lowest I've seen I've had the Turbo timer off for two weeks now and the problem seems to have gone away. If the problem doesn't come back in the next 4 weeks I'm gonna replace the timer, just a pain in the @ss sometimes to sit in the car before I turn it off after a good flogging
  3. Neva thought I'd say this, but I don't mind that holden
  4. Whoa, talk about "compensating" shame the car still looks like arse, but each to their own i guess EDIT: Just saw the coupe holden in the other thread, MUCH nicer... but still a holden
  5. awesome. so my wheels for sale will be compatible I had an n/a r33 for my first car and the 4 stud was a bit of a let down when looking for wheels
  6. N/a' have 15" rims, also 4 stud wheels but not sure if this is the same with R34 GT-4's? Anna34 I'll send a PM tonight with pics of wheels and asking price
  7. all good mate Are you gonna get a kit to go with your new bling?
  8. OR they could do what they always do and sensationalise a SMALL percentage of owners of japanese imports and brand us all as uneducated, dangerous offenders of society and backing it up by an "expert" usually somebody balding, overweight with glasses who probably gets his 90 year old mum to drive him around. then go on to tell us how we can make the most out of our shopping trip then dishing dirt on the other network's current affairs program. Tabloids on the telly they are, only interested in ratings, NOT objective unbiased journalism. Cynical much? Yes, I am EDIT: I'm all for giving theiving parasites a taste of Karma, but car theft doesn't just affect import owners... yes our cars are magnets to all sorts of attention but if TT or ACA haven't done a story for joe bloe's stolen commo or little old nanna's corolla, why would they give a second glance at us? Good luck with it though
  9. make sure it has the small boost guage section on the dash, hard to tell from those pics.
  10. Can't go wrong with mesh style wheels in my opinion. I know you only have $2000 max, but please stay away from CheapO rims from bob jayne/ozzy tyres. I found a mint set of Nismo LMGT3's on the for sale section here for $2,400 with new tyres aswell, had them for a year now. Japanese build quality, awesome machined lip and a good amount of dish on the back wheel. I'd rather have the stock 17" r34 wheels than the cheap rims from the tyre shops, but that's just me. P.S I have 17" rays nismo rims for sale. PM me if you're interested, I'll sell em to ya for cheap.
  11. Mate.... You're lucky that you put the word "bar" after "rear" otherwise things could've gotten a little bit strange... especially with that dancing banana coupled with the suggestive bunny dance at the end :laughing-smiley-014:
  12. Call me crazy, but I actually prefer the stock kit on an R33 GTR, it's my favourite shape of all the skyline GTR's That kit doesn't seem to match the stock lines of the r33, where the 33 is sleek and smooth it all of a sudden ends all boxy on the bottom with that kit. If I was to have a 33GTR it'd have the stock bar with a lip, 400r sideskirts and N1 rear pods, but that's just me
  13. not sure if it helps, but a chrysler crossfire has bigger rear wheels from factory, I think 18" front and 19" rear I think the rule in NSW is that you can't go 1" bigger than factory and something to do with the width of the rim
  14. Spotted "ZTUNED" pulling out of powerplay imports today. That is one seriously wicked car in the flesh. wonder what the insurance would cost?
  15. Did mine anodised red, only had to use one can and used aluminium brake/caliper paint as a primer. I've got a red "S" logo on my grille, and a red "O" on the nismo logo on my LMGT3's so it's not like the red is out of place Make sure you thoroughly clean your calipers, and the nissan logo I covered with blue-tak, just peel off once finished and the nissan logo will be unpainted. I also sanded back the logo to make it shine again. Was gonna go brembo gold but the shop only had red at the time...
  16. I loved their review on the v36 personally, solidified my resolve that I'm gonna get my grubby paws on one when they're available to import
  17. Can't say I'm a fan of the grill or bonnet, but definite thumbs up for being different and having the courage(or boredom?) to do it, I do like the interior though
  18. oh, so I guess it's fair to assume that Victorian police are trained to a higher standard than our newsouthwhelschmen?
  19. As others have already said, it's your factory computer protecting the car from blowing itself up. Any aftermarket replacement ECU will make full use of your modifications, piggyback air/fuel controllers will do the same thing to an extent, but nowhere near the level of a stand-alone engine management systems. Most of the guys mention Power FC because it's arguably the most user friendly ECU, other brands are HKS, Trust/Greddy Emanage, Motec etc. just to name a few... all with various costs and pros and cons. I have a Power FC in my r34 and never had a drama with it, I liked how it already had all the standard ECU maps like cold start and electrics eg. air con control, but let's you re-write the parameters of the factory ecu. Any competent tuner can install these systems and effectively fix the problems you've been experiencing.
  20. Wow. my heart was pumping just watching it.
  21. My mate was pulled over once and they made him pop his bonnet, has a fmic, bov exposed pod etc. The cop asked him if it was an intercooler, he said, uhh that's a radiator. Got off scott free Not every cop knows what they're looking at and what's defectable
  22. Turns out the problem isn't the battery, charge system and cranking amps are well above minimum requirements can't be spark plugs or injectors... everything works fine when it does start up, the problems are what seem to be battery related the mechanic suggested I try leaving the turbo timer off for a while and seeing what happens...
  23. Lambo doors... A ricer's wet dream each to their own I guess
  24. I'll take the HKS oil filler cap if it can fit on an R34, can you check for me? I can meet you in Parramatta if so (probably halfway for both of us)
  25. Thanks man, It's a genuine nismo rear bar, but you can probably buy a fibreglass copy looks absolutely mean when combined with the aero or "altia" bodykit. The rear wing if you look closely covers up the old bolt holes, but uses the original holes to bolt on, no muss no fuss. lol
