Your Thoughts On Gtr-wannabe's!
Yo-Yo replied to Sky GTR Nguyen's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I find it funny how they replace the badge of an average australian car brand with that of an average American marquee. Or maybe I just don't hold chevvys in high regard? -
Your Thoughts On Gtr-wannabe's!
Yo-Yo replied to Sky GTR Nguyen's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I hold a gtr badged Gts/t in the same regard as when I see a mirage/es lancer driving on the road with big chromies & evo IV kit with paint peeling off of it. As far as fitting GTR style kits I got no problem with. I used to have an r33 with a gtr style rear wing, 400r sideskirts & the factory type m frontbar, looked tough without being overdone. I'm currently saving up for an east bear GTR style frontbar & hood for my car because the r34 gtr look just has an aura & presence about it What would be really awesome is if they made a badge that had the GTR logo, but with a red 'T' instead of the 'R', or a red 'S' for r33s . That would be the only extra badges I'd fit. -
I was in the same situation, & obviously went for the '34 in the end. I'm sure if you go to a silvia forum & asked the same question you'd find people considering both cars & gone with the s15. It's all up to personal choice & situations. S15's are the 'truer' sports cars from the nissan lineup at the time, whereas the r34 was GT-T is the grand tourer. Both cars look sexy, go hard when pushed, & handle very well on the road & at high speeds, although the 34 feels a lot more rigid & stable when turning corners compared to the s15. I don't even consider fuel milage when it comes to me buying a car, as the only cars that I'm interested in are generally gas guzzlers anyway compared to the daily driven fleet mobiles. I like the fact that I can fit my gf/mates in the car & carry a lot of crap in the boot when I need to & still fly past a falcodore It's a great choice whichever one you choose, good luck with your search mate!

Here's mine. First Pic is when I first drove it out of the dealership & stopped at a maccas Next pic is when I took it home safe & sound Oh, & shut up about the wing ... it will be replaced shortly

Defi-style Autogauge 3-gauge Bundle Packs - $175.00
Yo-Yo replied to Just Jap Racing's topic in For Sale (Business Traders)
Hi, I'd also really like to see them if it's not too much trouble. I'm planning on installing the 3 guage pack in my factory guage cluster. Did he mount them behind the clear plastic covers, or were they removed? -

Varies slightly depending on postcode where car is garaged, driving history etc. I'm 19 & have full comprehensive with just cars with a premium of $1600, although I've got a no claim bonus because I've been with them for 2 years. (A new policy for me would cost around the $3200 mark)

I'm not 100% sure of this myself, but from what I've been told is that (in NSW at least) the adjustability of the xenon headlights are the reason for the defect (thus removed at compliancing) as it is manually controlled. The reason that cars like BMW's can have them is because the headlights automatically dip & adjust themselves when the car is carrying extra load eg. rear passengers & cargo in the boot. All I know is that my headlights are the originals & the switch still works

Tools, just makes it harder for me to own a decent car. Our cars are just more noticeable on the road. I get battered old excels & falcodores flying past me on the road

Did you get your license suspended or cancelled & confiscated on the spot? If you were only suspended like I have been in the past, you will get a letter in the mail notifying you of when your licence will be suspended & how long until you can drive again. You still keep your existing licence, you just can't drive while suspended. It will all be explained in the letter. Tough luck dude

I'm biased towards r33's Sleek lines & design, powerful motor . You'd be hard pressed to find a completely stock example of either cars. All it comes down to is which one you like more in terms of looks & performance. Everyone will be repeating the usual old arguments r32 vs r33, but it's gonna be your car so go out their & make up your own mind IMO.

While we're hijacking, has anyone fitted the just jap fmic that has the nissan sports bar or nismo front bar as some people call it?
-
If you're gonna keep the car for a long time than I'd say go for the r34. Look at what you can realistically afford to spend every month including fuel & insurance etc. I used to have an r33, now I have an r34 I'm never looking back

New Intercoolers - $175 Delivered - Pick Your Size
Yo-Yo replied to Just Jap Racing's topic in For Sale (Business Traders)
Do these intercoolers fit on R34's that have the nissan sports bar? Are there any modifications needed to fit them with this bar? I'm very interested & pm sent -
The rear wing looks like it comes out more at the corner pods than an actual gtr/copy rear wing. I'd hazard a guess that it's either a Trust or Veilside copy? Good luck with your search colli!

Hey guys, I'm planning to get rid of the nismo spoiler that came with my car soon. I'm tossing up between taking the whole thing off, or just getting rid of the corner pods instead. What do you guys think? Also, anybody know what type of rear bar is on my car? I've never seen one like it before. Cheers.

Yeah, that's the one! It's got a button for it on the lower right side nest to the steering wheel. I can hear the motor change the modes when idling so I guess it's working fine for now. So you reckon it's better to ditch the silencer if I get an exhaust system?
-
yeah, a quality cat back is a good start if it hasn't been done already. Slightly better throttle response & a much nicer sound I hope you've included the cost to get installation done in your budget, unless you're planning to go DIY
-
Hi guys, I've done a search of the forum & couldn't really find what I was after... My R34 has a silencer that was fitted from the factory. Can you still use it if you get an aftermarket exhaust system? Is the actual silencer built into the muffler or connected to the exhaust piping? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys

Hi Ive Got Boost Probs With My R33. Pls Help!
Yo-Yo replied to princess01's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi, It might help if you list any mods (if any) on the car that you are ware of. One of my mate's personally imported a series 6 RX-7 & it ran like crap because it was tuned in Japan to run on their premium fuel (108ron?). A simple re-tune on the dyno fixed it right up & it runs beautifully now. has the car been previously owned in australia or are you the first owner? Good luck with fixing your car & hopefully someone on here has an answer for you. -
Bought my R33 from them 2 years ago. Never had a problem with the car. I agree with what some people are saying about high prices, but you can bargain them down quite a bit depending on the car & if they really want (need) the sale. Although... if you buy a car from them make sure everything works. When I picked the car up the cd player was stuffed. forgot to try the cd player during the test drive other than that the car is in excellent condition. I always change the audio system from stock anyway.

Your First Drive In Your New Car
Yo-Yo replied to stink's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'm picking up my r34 on monday I just can't wait to pick it up & go cruising in it all day. I was searching around for months until I settled on this particular r34. It's got an ugly wing, but I plan to go spoilerless when I have the time to get it off the car. As soon as I test drove it I knew my search was over, It's only got some minor bolt on mods like the exhaust & pod filter, but coming from a non turbo r33 to the GTT is more than enough for me for now . -
nah wasn't me, lol good luck with your bodykit though cheers
