  1. yeah? It's funny... I bought a type m or mspec frontbar from a guy named nick who lives in castle hill... & has a white skyline, so I thought it might be you lol. I highly recommend X-treme, ask to Speak to Jon, he's a good bloke & doesn't screw people around. but by all means shop around & your research, After I looked around at more than 10+ places I chose xtreme, a little out of my way (I live near blacktown) but it's well worth the trip
  2. Another vote for Xtreme Highly reccomend them. Is this the same nick that I bought an m-spec frontbar ages ago at blacktown maccas? If so I got the frontbar & the rest of my bodykit painted there. Taking my R34 there as soon as I save up some cash
  3. Still selling the 34? Very interested mate, u have pm cheers
  4. Hi mate, very interested... u have pm
  5. No worries mate, I was planning on a front mount but now I'm not going to bother as I am trading up to an r34. I've been told the type m bar needs to be slightly modified to fit a front mount. Apparently they need to cut out the middle part that holds the licence plate... but that's also where most of the bar is fitted to the front reo bar Maybe somebody on these forums has done it before & can shed some light on this.
  6. Maybe this is what you meant? This was the bar that came on my car when I bought it (non type m) & this was a type m I put on my car The bar cost me $150 from a guy I met on this forum & it cost me $350 to get it painted, probably only $200 without the two-tone paint. The bar looks great & you can't tell the difference in colour where the bar meets with the guards. Hope it helped
  7. the guards are the same apparently. I was reading a thread somewhere here before & someone was saying the headlights for s1 & s2 are the same size where they meet the guards, just that the s2 are slimmer where they meet the centre grill. In the post someone also posted a pic of a s1 with just the s2 frontbar. It wasn't a prefect fit but still looked good so it's definitely doable, as others have said probably need to weld the s2 reo onto your car. It had the sedan indicator/fog light assembly. (I think I prefer the sedan assembly over the coupe mspec ones )
  8. I wouldn't be surprised to see a sudden surge of riced out lancers & civics sporting some fancy new brembos...
  9. My dad & I took it out for a test drive at the Penrith Mazda along Mulgoa road The salesman didn't let us drive it without him & made sure we behaved ourselves, although we did take it on the m4 . acceleration is very linear & I didn't notice any boost spiking (turbo cars these days ) although honestly we didn't have much of a chance to put it through it's paces. same engine as the mps mazda6 it's still a fwd but it's got some Dynamic Stability Control something or other cons: I hate the hatch, would've been much nicer as a sedan imo --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also test drove the xr5 focus, not bad although I wouldn't pay 40k+ for it rather spend the extra dough for an mps3
  10. You could do that, I'm assuming you have a factory frontbar like me... I was lazy, I just smashed the bottom of the clip with a screwdriver so I could pull the frontbar off. When I was done I placed the clips back in the same place albeit now they don't have the bottom part to hold in to the bar, but once back on the car they do the same job & haven't had any issues since then. Besides, 90% of the bar is supported off the reo anyway. If you have the time, take the headlights off if you know how to properly.
  11. Lol @ the buick, looks funny I was gonna vote for the cadillac... but I though I'd be nice & help out a fellow r33 owner I'm vote#414
  12. No re-enforcement bar?! Be very grateful you haven't had a front-ender lol Aren't they meant to absorb most of the impact in a crash? I saw a reo bar for sale on powerplayimports.com.au for $200(?) so if you can get it for free off your mate go for it. The bar must have been attached with that black glue via the side fenders & headlights I'm assuming?
  13. As with any used car you should thoroughly check & make sure everything is on the level, The dealership that sold me my r33 'forgot' to tell me the stereo system was farked & I didn't use the radio when I test drove... so it pays to make sure everything works, power windows, stereo, electric sideview mirrors work etc. In general, I've found R33's build quality very good. The only things that I've had to spend on my car was the usual 10-15km service & mods What I've found to be expensive is: Insurance (I'm a P-plater + import car + Live in West Sydney ) Petrol (refer to my avatar) Mods ( U can't stop with just one ) Good luck with the car hunt & be sure to post some pics when you do
  14. Lol so much hostility dude, They also bag our cars on the looks & how it's all bulgy, I love 33's In fact all of the skylines. What's with all this competitiveness between r32/r33 owners? Aren't we all supposed to be united against power tripping cops & v8 bogans?
  15. ^^^lol
  16. Agreed, in my experience smash repairers have always been cheaper & the right one's do an excellent job. Two years ago I was shopping around to get my s2 wing painted & fitted & getting price quotes avg. $300-$350. One even tried to charge me $500+! I went to Medicar smash repair in St. Marys & they cost me $180 to paint & fit, the guy was looking at me like he was feeling guilty of overcharging me, but it was the cheapest price I found! They did an awesome job & since then I've been back to get my whole bodykit painted, you can't tell the difference between where they painted & the factory paint job they do an excellent job & I highly recommend them for anyone who just wants to get stuff painted. Seriously, if it's just to paint a stealth wing have a look around at your local smash repairers/panel beaters & shop around till you find a place you're happy with.
  17. You oughta do it soon aye, if you can fit your finger in it must be som serious sagging. Is your frontbar a factory or aftermarket one? If it's a factory bar it's most probably something to do with the reo as 90% of the frontbar bar is attached via the reo. If it's an aftermarket frontbar, maybe the mounts are coming loose? It's not unusual for aftermarket sideskirts to sag after a few years even if it's mounted correctly, I assume it can be the same way for frontbars Anyway, good luck getting it fixed & I hope it doesn't cost you too much champ
  18. Maybe you mean the Front bar re-enforcement or "reo"? Might have to get the frontbar checked out by your local mechanic/panel beater. Does your frontbar jiggle around or does it stay firm but is sagging?
  19. Lol I work at Mt Druitt westfield & the only problem I've ever had is someone hitting my car with a shopping trolley while I was off working I agree, lots of old shatboxes running around to be stolen or broken into
  20. U can always try & substitute letters with numbers & see what turns up, plates are a bit of a rip off IMO, my mate pays $500 every year for his plates. Things people do to be different I guess
  21. Are you talking about the lights next to the indicators on the frontbar? My ones turn on but they're not bright enough to be foggies, I've always assumed they were extra parking lights as the ones in the headlight aren't that effective
  22. Could possibly be a one-off custom frontbar using the trust frontbar as a base, adding those flap things to compliment the veilside sideskirts, which they do rather well. Much nicer than the veilside frontbar
  23. Just having a guess here... Frontbar looks like a modified Trust frontbar with those flap things on the sides Sideskirts look like something Veilside would make no idea on rear bar. Got any more pics from different angles by any chance?
  24. Lol no worries mate, sorry If it sounded like I was having a go at ya, no offence intended
