  1. The only reason I would run a MAP ecu was if I was going to run a 4" intake. Your still running a 3" intake which anyone with an AFM ecu can run?? I dont see the advantage?? I will just run a 3" intake and leave the AFM in the intake. The whole point of a hiflow turbo is to look standard (well for me anyway), if you move the afm to the cooler piping and run an aftermarket bov in a different location then it really loses the point of looking standard imo
  2. That would mean I would need to move the AFM to the cooler piping. Hmm I wonder if intake could be 4" pod > 4" piping > reduced to 3" for AFM > then reduced to 2.5" for the turbo intake?? Prob not enough room for all that.
  3. So its a standard R34 GTT?? Pretty hard to help mate without any details.
  4. Apexi Power Intake https://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?p...cat=&page=1 Trent said he had seen some big power setups with this pod so didnt think it was a problem.
  5. Nice midrange on the EVO too!!
  6. First setup: Custom 3" intake, bov blocked off and breather hose to atmosphere. 279rwkw Second setup: Factory intake with pipe, all factory fittings so bov and breather connected to intake as per factory 250rwkw with intake sucking shut. Next setup: 3" metal intake with bov and breather fittings.
  7. Well it already made 279rwkw with a 3" intake that Tao helped me with. Only problem was it did not have the bov return and breather fitting so I tried the factory intake with some pipe but BAD MOVE!
  8. That was with a temporary custom 3" intake pipe. The problem is that it did not have spots for the bov return and the breather which I want. So then I tried putting the factory intake back on with the pipe inside. That is when it would not make more than 250rwkw and I know which just the 3" intake changed it made 279rwkw.
  9. Ok so to answer my own question NO the standard intake pipe is not enough for 300rwkw. My standard intake pipe sleeved with pipe as per this thread and my car will not make more than 250rwkw where it made 279rwkw on the last dyno and you can see the pipe sucking shut near the turbo intake. My experience is this mod is only rated to ~250rwkw.
  10. Should have listened to you Manuel and Tao! Had my car on the dyno yesterday and with the sleeved factory intake pipe it would not make more than 250rwkw as the part close to the turbo where it is still 2.5" is sucking shut. Bugger!! Off to get a custom intake made up and back on the dyno.
  11. Ok dropped my car off yesterday and Trent has fixed up the leaking injectors woohoo!! Thanks again Trent! However, in the meantime I also returned to a stock intake pipe sleeved with a metal pipe. This was still sucking shut but in a different location closer to the turbo where it is still 2.5". The car still hits hard but once it hits 250rwkw the intake pipe sucks shut and it will not make any more power, the dyno is just a flat line after that even slightly reducing. So off to get a custom intake pipe made up and I will post results after that. Should have listened to you Tao
  12. Maybe its just a coincidence that the greatest slope in power is normally around the peak torque.
  13. This is my experience as well with various different high powered cars.
  14. hahaha I thought everything was legal in QLD, quick $50 mod plate and your done
  15. frozenpod for PM!!
  16. Hmmm not sure about that in Vic??
  17. And get defected the first time you get pulled over and have to go through all the heartache of putting it back to standard and the rest of that crap. Not to mention the embarassment of getting defected with work colleagues or family in the car. Not everyone has multiple cars to choose from. How is $3k for a garrett kit which contains more parts just a little more than $1450 bolt-on (hence less labour cost as well)?? Noone is bagging garrett but there certainly is a place for Hypergear bolt on hi flow turbos.
  18. Most of them are on the same dynos with the same dyno operators, Sam at Dr Drift and Trent at Status Tuning.
  19. Interesting so it may actually reduce the number of cars impounded. These changes could be an improvement to the current situation.
  20. Exactly you have to compare it to a full bolt on garrett kit for $2600-$3000. The MHI turbo is not a fair comparison as it requires an external wastegate which is just not an option for most street cars. Not to mention new dump pipe, external gate piping, external wastegate itself etc If you want a cheaper option turbo, Hypergear also has those.
  21. Yeah as we said a few times on the previous page, although my question is does it reset back to none or do you stay on 2 strikes??
  22. WTF thats crazy! 1 demerit point but also 1 hoon strike gone thats just stupid.
  23. I would fight that, even there own statement goes against it.
  24. How do you find the E10, do you get worse fuel consumption? or is it tuned for it?
  25. Yeah but you get two warnings before they take your car. The second one has to be ordered by a court so if it gets that far sell your skyline and drive a cheaper car.
