  1. Ah yeah didnt think about that. Once you have a 4" intake, the 3" afm will become a restriction and also annoying changing diameters if you did leave it there. What options are there to remain with a 3" intake. I know simon you will recommend the 4" intake but think about it from a stealth on the street point of view. Is it possible to get an anti surge housing with a 3" intake on a GT30?
  2. My 34 GT-T with catback exhaust and pod filter made ~165rwkw. So I would expect a full stocker to make ~150rwkw. Have a look here for the modification guide: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ni...p;mode=threaded
  3. Congrats sounds awesome! The gear changes sound like gun shots haha
  4. My tune didnt even want to run 11psi. He said 10psi max, his opinion was its not worth the risk for the small gain.
  5. ah yeah fair enough. its also quite a few extra dollars! If you want the anti surge compressor housing your prob better off getting the 3076 as that comes with one for no extra dollars. Keen to see the dyno sheet!
  6. Yeah just had a look, not a bad deal. ooooo it has an option for the anti-surge compressor housing. did you get that? Do you have a dyno sheet? I couldnt find one of yours in the dyno thread?
  7. I think the HKS 2835 Pro S turbo wins the prize of most responsive turbo to make 275rwkw on 98 fuel.
  8. Would you be able to explain the accident and why you considered the major factor to be speed? Is there a category for driver error. A terrible driver in a piece of crap car can be dangerous doing the speed limit. It just seems to me that speed is the default reason for every accident.
  9. What a crock. The problem is not people who are 0.04. The problem is people who break the current laws are not punished harshly enough. Especially the serious repeat offenders. How is blood alcohol limit a cops word??
  10. Yup was just about to post that, go the 0.82 if its internally gated.
  11. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but a higher fuel pressure puts more strain on your fuel pump. If you have a look at the flow rates of fuel pumps they flow less fuel at higher fuel pressures. So you have to be careful when increasing fuel pressure that your pump can flow enough at the high fuel pressure.
  12. Its not fair on the poor old 3071 I am challenging this statement: "what boost tho? the 3076 will do same power and response times... but less psi needed to make same power. " A 3071 will have better response than a 3076 with same rear housing. The 3076 will have more top end power.
  13. Sorry to dig up an old thread but that is not fair to compare a turbo with a 6-bolt housing to bolt up to standard dump and a genuine garrett housing. It has been proven many times the genuine garrett housing will outperform the modified ones (to bolt up to a standard dump) in every way.
  14. But shell advertise 100 octane fuel with only 5% ethanol??
  15. But the standard factory housing when hi flowed can make 250rwkw and that is definitely smaller then a GT30 0.63 housing. There is a significant difference between a GT3071 and a GT3040 (GT3082). A 0.63 housing is fairly restrictive to top end power on a GT3071, but on a GT3082 it would be more equivalent to a 0.82 housing on GT3071. Something is definitely wrong.
  16. Well if thats the case, 0.63 housing should still make a lot more than what he is. I mean hiflowed standard turbos make more than that. Interesting the power falls over at about 5,500rpm. Also the dyno only goes up to ~6,200rpm?? Something seems wrong, unless the rpm on the dynosheet is not correct.
  17. Where does a GT3040 fit in size wise compared to a GT3071, GT3076 or GT3082? Is it smaller as the name suggests? I remember reading a performance place (think it was ERD) recommending a 0.63 housing on a GT3082 on an RB25. But if a GT3040 is smaller than a GT3071 then a 0.63 housing is definitely too small. I dont understand how joey gets so much power out of his injectors. I would expect 550s to peak out around 260-290rwkw on E85.
  18. Theres always those people that need to think they have the best of everything and anything else is crap.
  19. Excellent advise here! Never ride a big bike again and have your memory erased so cant remember what it was like. Cheapest way out of this.
  20. I believe the Tomei pump will be fine but cant confirm. I would definitely go larger injectors so that you have the option to run E85 at some stage.
  21. That engine bay is unbelievable. I am a big ceramic coating fan, I prefer it over heat wrap etc.
  22. No chapel st this time please
  23. Agree 100%, I had average results with the GT35R with 0.63 housing. Better off with either a GT30 with 0.82 housing or a GT35 with 0.82 housing.
  24. Point taken about the gearing reducing the effect of different rpm. Although the same power level will feel completely different in a different weight car.
  25. But thats my point if the scales arent even then how can you compare the angle? Hahaha yup point taken, I wont be spending 10k to find out.
