  1. go a nistune, as good if not better technically to a power fc, much cheaper ($300 for the parts installed into your stock ecu + $500 for a full tune) Plus the cops cant say anything because you are using the factory computer!
  2. nistune, it allows you to tune the factory ecu. roughly $300 for the parts installed then roughly $500 for a full tune. because its the standard ecu, means cops cant defect you for it!
  3. oh yeah i do, aftermarket catback and front pipe, but standard dump pipe.
  4. This does not mean they would not be beneficial at higher power levels. Plus exhaust shops dont just sell dump pipes haha Just because someone makes a product doesnt mean that it has to work for everyone with every setup. Out of interest how about the dump pipes on an RB25DET? What power level do they start becoming beneficial?
  5. The Trust dumps certainly dont look shite! In fact they look rather awesome.
  6. Yup mine boosts to between 0.6-0.7 on the standard guage. On a dyno it shows a constant 9psi without any boost control mods at all.
  7. I have the KU36s and find them excellent, very grippy. I cannot comment on lifespan yet as i have only had them for 5,000km. I find them excellent in the wet, no complaints at all. If you are interested more in tyre lifespan then maybe you shouldnt be looking at the closest road legal thing to a semi slick...
  8. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ni...Mo-t282082.html That is my favourite guide. I am up to the end of stage 1 plus a Trust Intercooler. Mine makes 190rwkw. I am preparing for a 250rwkw hi flow setup. My advice would be: 1. dump pipe and front pipe. 2. $28 turbotech boost tee 2. tune with nistune That should get you 180-190rwkw. Then you decide how far you want to go. The only thing I have on top of that is a Trust return flow intercooler. But thats more because I will need it for my next mods.
  9. my vote is for a hypergear hiflow, great price and you get to keep the same turbo appearance so no cop troubles!
  10. Some people take the car for a last spin on max boost before handing the car over to the new owner. Hopefully thats not the case for you.
  11. 1.5 bar GEEZE!! Thats huge on a stock turbo
  12. such a pity he couldnt drop the cat or exhaust and put it back on the dyno! that would reveal everything. to me a 3" cat and 3" catback sounds a bit small for -5s but I am no gtr expert.
  13. I think if you have a look at a few dynos in the dyno thread you will see that all stock turbo setups drop off boost as they get high in the rpm. Everything sounds fine to me.
  14. Still need this stuff! I am trying to take out my coilovers to put in bilstein shocks and king springs, but I need all the top stuff that is missing once the coilovers are removed.
  15. still doesnt explain the low peak power.
  16. yeah hks T04Z is a sweeeet turbo but quite pricey.
  17. I just wanted to say a huge thanks to Status for the attached dyno sheets, they are so helpful! Keep it up!
  18. I just spoke to nissan spare parts and they are saying there is 8 pieces required on each side! At a cost of $330 for each side of the rear shocks! Are you sure only the top hats are required?
  19. thanks, pm sent
  20. Looks great Tao! How about a HKS GTRS type setup? My understanding the GTRS basically has the response of a 2530 and the top end of a 2535 or something similar.
  21. I agree, throw it on the dyno and see how it goes. If it makes good power on the dyno drive it for a while and see what you think. No point spending heaps of cash before you even know what you have. Please dont get anything smaller than a GT35. I think you mean 340-350rwkw not just 300
  22. First thing would be to list the mods you currently have. You should be able to get close to 200rwkw without a hiflowed turbo. That would be where i would start. The safc is definitely fine for that. http://www.skyline-owners-club.com/forums/...ning-guide.html
  23. Thats what I thought too. Just spoke to some directory guy at Koni and he runs the R34 GTR rear koni shocks (8041-1339sport, same part number for R33 GTR) in his R34 GTT. Although he might have stock height suspension i suppose, or hes just telling porkies. Sounds like some GTR coilovers dont have enough height adjustment to compensate for the difference in length (as mentioned in another thread in this section).
  24. Ok phoned Heasmans Suspension (Australian Distributors of Bilstein) and they have some of the shocks left from Sydney Kid's Group Buy although they are back to full price. They quoted me $660 for a pair of Bilstein rear shocks for an R34 GTT, plus $44 for the height adjustment option. I have ordered these. Also I spoke to a high up person in Koni and they say to use the R34 GTR part number which is 8041-1339Sport. Yes they have the right fittings but I thought they were physically longer. Theres another thread on here with a guy who fitted GTR coilovers to his R34 GTT and they couldnt get the car low enough.
