Which Shocks Are Softer Koni Sport Or Bilstein
Harey replied to Harey's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The R33 GTR rear shocks are the same fittings, the only difference is they are phsically longer. Guy in another thread said he fitted some R33 GTR rear coilovers to his R34 GTT but they couldnt get them low enough to be a good height. Yeah thats my next thought. Its just I dont like the idea of custom shocks both price and delay. Its strange all these shock sellers have neglected the R34 GT-T. -
R33 Gtr Suspension In R34 Gtt

Hmmm I was looking at buying some 33 GTR shocks for my 34 GT-T but they might be too long as your saying. -

So R33 GTR front coilovers fit straight on your R34 GT-T? -
R33 Gtr Suspension In R34 Gtt
Harey replied to ashneel's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
From my research on this forum the R33 GTR rear shocks will fit on your R34 GT-T but the fronts will not. You need the front suspension from an R33 GTS-T. Someone can confirm the second part though. -
Which Shocks Are Softer Koni Sport Or Bilstein
Harey replied to Harey's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Bummer!!! Geeze this shock thing is annoying the crap out of me!! Koni only have a part number with eyelets at the bottom!!! There is no bilstein part number for them, so you have to get them custom made. Surely someone sells an off the shelf shock absorber for the R34 GT-T!! -
After all the positive feedback on the bilstein shocks I am looking to get some. Obviously the sydney kid group buy is well gone and he seems to have gone elsewhere from this forum. Reading through his thread it seems he was actually getting R33 GTR rear shocks for the R34 GT-T but with custom valving to suit. There are no part numbers for the R34 at all. Has anyone put bilsteins on their R34 GT-T outside of the sydney kid group buy? If so what did you do?

Thats definitely way too low in power. Did you have some fixed price worked out with your tuner? I see this all to often people try and talk the tuner down to a set cost, so the tuner just gets things setup with time in mind. You need to get your tuner to work for you and find out the problems. A good tuner should say look I can leave it as is for the amount quoted or I can start to troubleshoot but it will cost you extra. Tuning and troubleshooting should not be skimped on, I think its the most important part of the process. Especially when you have spent considerable cash on parts etc.

Which Shocks Are Softer Koni Sport Or Bilstein

Few dilemmas! I had another look at the koni listings for the R34 and they only have one part number. There should be 2 part numbers, one for the GT-T and one for the n/a GT. It is the same part number for the rear R33 GTS-T shocks, meaning that the R34 part number will only fit the n/a GT R34 model. Grrr Plus there is no bilstein part number for the R34 skyline at all!! I just want some good shocks for an R34 GT-T. Only ones I can find that are specified for the R34 GT-T are kyb: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R34-...=item5190e8127c -
Hi, I am after some top hats (strut tops) for any R33 skyline. In a hurry for the rear ones. But also interested in the front ones. Help me out! Jeff 0400648813

Quote from the SK group buy for the R34 GTT: "I'm not 100% sure but I think R33 caps fit, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem... "

Ok all the research i have done suggests the only differences between R33 and R34 suspension is the bottom of the shock whether they are forks or balls. Obviously this has nothing to do with the top hats. Lower part of shock: - balls at the front and forks at the rear. R33GTR and R34 GTT - balls at the front and balls at the rear. R34 N/A and R33 GTST Do they look like this? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/post-a47513- But yeah it would be good to get confirmation for sure

Hi, As the title suggests I urgently require some R34 GT-T stock top hats. I am taking my coilovers out and going back to a bilstein and whiteline combo. I need the stock top hats as it came out from japan with coilovers in it. I really need the rears asap. Going to get a quote for some new ones from nissan but i am tipping it is going to hurt. Help me out! Jeff 0400648813

Hmmm thats interesting, what king springs have you tried? These have the softest spring rate of all the springs on offer. They are progressive rate too 135-180 lb/inch. Whereas the whiteline springs are 165lb/inch but they are constant. Also what shocks were you using with the king springs as that makes a massive diffference of how they perform.

Hi all, I have a set of ohlins coilovers on my R34 GT-T but they are too stiff for my liking as its 100% a street car and im soft haha. I am taking them out for some bilstein shocks and whiteline springs. The suspension place told me I need to source some standard suspension as they need a few parts that were replaced by the coilovers. Any idea on what these parts are? And also where to get them from? Any help much appreciated

I am located in melbourne. Local would be easier but could work out a postage deal
-
yup my car does it as well. I believe its normal for a stock r34 gt-t diff. Mine still spins up two wheels with both wheels on the road. if it doesnt spin both wheels when they are both on the road then your lsd is fcked. i think its just an issue with the limited suspension travel.
-
Hi, I am chasing some R34 GT-T standard suspension. Let me know if you have some, particularly the shocks/struts, not interested in the springs. Jeff 0400648813

I am not sure about the real tech stuff on the differences. I just know the R34 turbo has a much bigger exhaust housing (its called OP6). The exhaust side of the turbo is the restriction on these cars, so the larger exhaust housing is a better solution.
-
if the turbo is out of the bonnet, then you can have a nice and short dump pipe directing the hot air away from the car and thats it. Go as big as possible.

as per the dyno sheet attached on the first page of this thread, roughly 18-19psi fading down to about 17psi near redline.
