ive got a cooler of similar dimensions to joel's. is an old HKS kit and have seen a few cars coming from japan with the same kit in place. my starts to struggle around the 200rwkw mark...
its the length of the runner relative to the original position comapared to the relocated position thats important though
ie nissan designed cylinder 1 and 6 (the ones people question) to be the same distance from throttle body, cut n shut the plenum and now its completely different
thats why most people stick with coppers, theyre cheaper and if they foul quickly its only $20 down the drain....
theyre also easier to play around with when trying to find the right heat range/ plug gap for your car
with the amount of engineering GReddy and other intake plenum designers put into their plenums one would have to assume that simply relocating the throttle body isnt going to work quite as well. but on a budget there isnt anything else
youve also got to ask yourself what saving 1-1.5m of piping is really worth with reference to a cut n shut job
rob: do a search on the forums, theres hundreds of other people with the same problem. and as you will read its always the plugs
change em, regap em whatever you need to do and that will no doubt solve the problem.
youre going to have to cut the support bar to get that in
take off the front bar itself and it will become alot clearer
it is possible...
did the hybrid core come with mounting brackets or anything?
where do you place the filter?
whats stopping the oil from returning to the intake?
mine ist a yellowable catch can because its got a K&N filter over the outlet to atmoshpere. which means that air is being filtered before released
dont tell me the return line goes to the intake...
that means youre reintroducing oil vapour into the intake system which is the whole idea of a catch can...
