  1. what u reckon paul?
  2. paul yes please, just 2 i can pick them up my cars working a treat at the moment turbo is quiet as well! its all coming up good
  3. i hate putting my car on the dyno
  4. paul; thats fine they only need to be JUST legal
  5. why would it need a rebuild its got an HKS 3.1L kit, so i dare say the internals are fairly strong and seeing as japs run their cars on 100+ octance fuel and rich fuel maps it shouldnt be too bad
  6. dyno puts alot more load on the car than on the road.... 205/55/15's please sir
  7. paul; tyres? ur gunah kill that car, why is it always on the dyno?
  8. paul? u there?
  9. hey paul; did u find out about those 205/55/15 tyres?? i need some crappy ones - just legal
  10. bastard! i needed a radiator the other week talk about bad timing
  11. riaz; i recently sold one of these plenums for the RB20 and it got snapped up in no time in the for sale section... the only cylinder which is in danger of being starved is unmber 1 bcos of the angle the cut n shut throttle body is put on, however this one looks pretty good
  12. ticking can be 1) injectors 2) lifters 3) exhaust leak on 1 cylinder ie exhaust manifold gasket leak
  13. the RB cooling system is 8L so 2.5L is a little low... how did you flush it? are you sure you got all the coolant out? the radiator itself probably takes around 2.5L, maybe you didnt get all the coolant out of the runners when bleeding, run from cold with the heater on until the thermostat opens then recap it after the bubbles stop. take it for a drive, let it cool down and top it up. cooling systems are biatches! ive just gotten over all my problems, a pin-hole leak in one of the hoses caused a blown radiator and water pump - nice
  14. yeh id say fuel as well my car ran in a similar way when i drove on the fuel which had been sitting in the tank for a month cos the car had been off the road. i also ran a bottle of injector cleaner through the next tank, may be coincedental but it made a fair bit of difference...
  15. 2hrs to take off the dump pipe? if you d/c it from the car first then from the back of the turbo it comes out easy - 30mins job
  16. gav: sorry i didnt get back to ya about the ignition module, the problem seems to have fixed itself. a mate of mine helped me re-do the earths of the ignition system which apparently are crap (in the eyes of an electronics guy) and that seems to have fixed the problem....
  17. haha good work paul
  18. the whine will be from an exhaust gasket id say. unless your turbo really is dead its hard to diagnose noises from the other side of the country id suggest taking it somewhere decent
  19. haha how coincidental that is also the most expensive diagnosis someone can give! as for the whine, id be checking exhaust gaskets for any leaks and do a once over on all hoses. it wont cost you much to replace the vacuum lines and on a 10 or so year old car it is a good idea.
  20. barry @ barrys dyno has a heap of coils around his place for RB engines, make him an offer
  21. less lag, more horizontal power cruve should mean an easier launch and with smaller wheels efficiency range shouldnt be 18-22psi like on the old turbo. so hopefully yeh, quicker times
  22. oh and one last thing micko im still interested in your injectors if you decide to ditch em... cya!
  23. hey paul sorry not hanging around, uni assignments dont write themselves unfortunately micko; if you get a chance get ya PM, may be of some assistance... cya all
  24. well i sent ya one... and yeh
  25. micko did u get the PM i sent ya?
