  3. Yeah i've heard of JPC before, came across this video that i thought was interesting. 418rwkw out of a T3 based Highflow on E85, Maybe Hypergear can enlighten us as to what core is in this turbo.
  4. Was having this conversation with a friend the other day about some of the weird stuff we have seen on jap imports and especially those that were freshly imported. Fairly interesting to hear and see some of the stuff that use to be done when turbo/injector/ecu upgrades were expensive. Personally i have seen: A Z32 300ZX with a secondary fuel rail ontop of the plenum with 270cc injectors(Z32 NA). Another Z32 with Fuel injectors in the intake pipes and Mines ecu. A mates R33 GTSt with a Fuel cut defender, stock ecu & afm, HKS Gt2540, Old school Trust return flow cooler, FPR, 20psi and timing retarded via the CAS. I thought the car would run like shit but it trapped 114mph iirc at WSID. Another R33 GTSt with a HKS GTRS, Mines ecu and again timing retarded via the CAS. So just curious what you guys have seen?

  7. I know quite a few turbo cars that run 9.5:1 comp and 20+psi on 98 octane its all in the tune. Aslong as everything is kept in check it will live a long and fun life.

  11. That's bullcrap, everyone knows that the R35 is really powered by a commodore 3.8L and they just stuck heaps of plastic crap over it to make it look new.
  12. Hell man, even standard R33 GTSt's and R34 GTT's are fairly slow, chopped a fair few of them at WSID. Its actually not that hard to get a car to that level. Once the turbo car starts upping the boost etc its a different ball game.
  13. R33's aren't too bad against commo's and falcon auto's that haven't had too much work done. Mate of mine has a R33 GTS with a catback and was side by side with a 5spd VR V6 with catback. However put them up against a newer manual commo or falcon and they get creamed. Yes JZA80 Supra's are quicker than natro skylines, especially the 6spd SZ-R versions they go alright. Just putting it out there, i race at the drags regularly and have raced almost every car mentioned here.
  14. Went down the whole NA performance route myself, got the car going decently quick. Then got to drive many variants of jap turbo cars and can see how stupid i was.
  15. NA Subaru a performance car? I'm pretty sure a clapped out camry or commodore would be quicker then that. Crashes are due to inexperienced and stupid drivers cannot handle the car or try to drive outside their range of skill.
  16. No, No and No. First off, you "chopping" your cousins R34 is probably because he cannot drive for shit. Secondly, BACKPRESSURE IS BAD, all this talk of losing power and torque is absolute rubbish. I run TWIN 2.5" exhausts with Highflow cats on my NA 300ZX and you know what? My car is currently one of the fastest NA 300ZX's in the country. The OP of this thread is a mate of mine and guess what, car gained a lot of power going to a 2.5" exhaust and is a lot quicker than it was. Backpressure is even WORSE in turbo cars, you know what happens when the exhaust can't flow like it should? car loses power. Go take a high powered car with a varex exhaust on it for a drive, with the valves closed it will lag, lose power and be generally crap to drive in comparison to when the valves are open. Don't believe me? Go try it for yourself.
  17. No hate from me, its an amazing car and its even more amazing that its making that power on a standard bottom end. Tuned very well, just curious as to how a small weight increase will equal such a large difference in trap speed.
  18. How will that equate to 13mph slower down the 1/4? Funny you mention the tyres, they will only matter for the ET. My dads old 350rwkw R33 was trapping 130mph on streets tyres and MT streets but times were hugely different.

  20. Not arguing, all i'm saying is i have never seen one go that quick or trap that speed. Just trying to figure out why there is 10MPH variance between bone standard cars. Only things i can think of are large altitude differences and the fact that a few of the US tracks aren't exactly "flat" (read: downhill).
  21. There's a 10MPH variance between cars there, never seen a 350Z do anywhere near those times bog stock or trap that sort of mph.
  22. You will destroy the 350Z, the last few 350's i raced at WSID were 1/10th slower than me. The only one that beat me was a newer model that out launched me and did a 14.2-14.3 sec pass with identical MPH to me. PS this is in a NON TURBO 300zx.
  23. Didn't the R32 GTR "JUN" run 155mph with around 850hp?
