  1. Guys its all BS, four of my mates have gotten their cars engineered recently and have had no problems. Its just crap that one person makes up and it spreads everywhere.
  2. There is no "safe" boost level. An SMIC will heatsoak faster than an FMIC due to the small surface area, so i'd say even on standard boost you'd be getting good heatsoak on a hot day. Save up for an FMIC man.
  3. I hope you werent running a stock R33 GTSt pump with those mods.......
  4. Ok it seems "High Performance world" in parramatta have them for $315 each + $22 each shipping in 275/40/17. High Performance World 1 Bourke Street, North Parramatta, NSW 2151 Telephone: 02 9630 2333 Fax: 02 9683 5723 Web: www.highperformanceworld.com Sales: [email protected] Cheapest i've found in that size by about $30.
  5. What size are you after, Rob? let me know and i'll have a chat to a few people.
  6. Hey man is it a blueslip, pinkslip or EPA defect. Let me know via PM i have a easy way to get it cleared if its the first two.
  7. Sorry to rain on your parade, but to me it sounds like you can't drive if you couldn't shake a VT V6....... They do mid 16's at the drags with work done, i could chop one in my mums camry.
  8. Stao what would be the going rate for GT2871R or equivalent cores into stock 300ZX housings? Saw another 300ZX running this and getting good results so just asking.
  9. No Cat Poncams Camgears 24psi Big Injectors + Pump E85
  10. yeah stuff driving an extra half hour for 5kw! Hahha i'll take Caltex E70 on great western highway anyday than driving to rozelle for E85.
  11. out of curiousity, how much of a power difference would there be from E70 to E85?
  12. Cheers mate, bosch 1000's are even cheaper than rochester 1000's. Only problem is i'll need to change the fuel rail to fit either, i found a set that will fit into the stock rail made by deatschwerks but they are a good $115 a piece. Weighing up whether its worth going for Bosch 1000's and a new rail or go the deatschswerks. Personally i think if i'm going to up the ante later on down the track it'd be worthwhile going for a new rail, eh?
  13. Not the case, its all in the tune. There are a few cars here reeling off 4-500hp on stock headgaskets. My dads old 350rwkw R33 ran a stock headgasket.
  14. So, anyone here using rochester injectors? 1000cc ones are $88 a piece and i've seen them on heaps of supra's running E85.
  15. Its $500 per person. Damn, if i can get rego and a nistune sorted in time i'd go, will have to wait and see. Dying to do one of these
  16. Stock injectors and AFM ~230rwkw.
  17. Don't forget to highflow your injectors with a makita drill.
  18. Bloody hell i'd be happy with anything around 270-280kw as i'll get bigger huffers on it one day to make more, but E85 seems to be the way to go if you want the best out of it. While i'm here, anyone used rochester injectors? fair few supra's run em for E85 and they are fairly cheap but will need a custom rail + plugs for my setup.
  19. Can pretty much guarantee you'd end up happy if DVS JEZ tuned it, take a look at all the results from his tunes. I'd get him to tune my Z32 when its done, but i'm doing the unigroup tuning course and want to do it myself
  20. Well i plan to use caltex eflex which is closer to E70 i believe as i have several of them not far from my place. Yes the main goal of the car is heaps of response, mid-range power is the main concern Also guys i know this is probably crap but wtf is this? must be magical like an ebay chip http://www.ecofuelbox.com/en/6-Cylinders-Ethanol-e85-Kit.html
  21. Hey guys, i thought instead of me making a new thread i would just ask in this one. I'm doing a DE+TT on my 300ZX which is on 10.8:1 Compression, i plan to use most of the stock TT bits on my NA except for the injectors, fuel pump and ecu. Can the varying blends (winter/summer) be tuned around so the car can run both? obviously it won't be optimal but can it be done? On 98 octane the car needs 15 degrees of timing removed from the 2000~4000rpm area of the map trailing to 5 degrees removed up top so i'm hoping E85 will help with this?. I'm looking at running around 18psi to see what i can get out of the stock turbos. They usually make 250rwkw on 16psi on pump fuel so i'm hoping mine will make a bit more at 18psi and E85.
  22. Depends man, i lucked out with my car because its been VERY reliable as it was always taken care of. But most you see are thrashed out and have problems which is why im boosting mine to avoid buying someone elses lemon. Also my mates are mechanics and my whole setup is costing me ~$1500 ish to do, 7psi base tune on 98 at first then some big injectors and E85 after. They make about 250rwkw on stock turbos(16psi) and PULP98, i'm hoping mine on 18psi and E85 will be a little bit more than that. R33 is allround easier to work on and live with, but after driving many examples of both i can't go past a nice Z32.
  23. And the thing is i'm going to have a built longblock on the side aswell, so when the NA motor dies i swap them around and keep going.
  24. I've also been thinking about this for a long time, i'm doing a DE+TT on my 300ZX and i have 2 Eflex pumps near my house. Only problem is my car is a daily driver so taking it for fairly long drives is out of the question.
