  1. Hey guys, i'll be getting an R32 GTR fairly soon and am looking for opinions/experience on what the best power output would be for a quick street car with the occasional run down the strip. I have driven fairly stock GTR's and to be honest wasn't all too impressed, my dads 350rwkw GTS25t however was a different story, definately the quickest car i've driven by far. The car i'm looking at has 32 N1 turbos, fmic, 3" catback & a powerfc so i'm really looking to get it a bit quicker. So, in your personal experience, at what point does it get to "this is just crap to drive on the street". While i don't mind a bit of lag, 5000rpm+ is pushing it, maybe if i get bored and build an RB30 one day but that's a different story all together. I'm thinking maybe a set of GT2860-5's, stock airbox, 3.5" exhaust, 550cc injectors and aiming for a solid 330kw would be a realistic aim and would have a useable powerband? I know most of you will say "look at the rb26 thread above" but all that shows me is power figures, not how the car/setup drives on the road.

The Bad: *Hatch and front bar are faded and would be good to respray (Can respray but will add $500 to the price) *Front bar is cracked down the bottom *Interior needs a bit re done due to age *Heater core has been bypassed, so will need replacement if you want a heater...aircon still works though. *Few Suspension bushes need replacing. *Cluster was replaced with another one, showing 190,000km (21,000 less then what it has) Rego till 4th of august 2012 Car will come with 2 spare stock rims & a 17" chrome rim with a new tyre. Stupid offers will be ignored, i don't care if your fully sick cousin found a thrashed out example for 2k, you can go buy that then. Very healthy motor, never had a problem with it engine wise and have never driven an NA that pulls as well as this one.

  5. I know that car, doesn't put anywhere near the quoted power down and doesn't do 9's obviously. Was doing 375rwkw from what i can remember on pump fuel.
  6. Sweet, yeah will be taking it to Unigroup Engineering or UAS to get tuned. Be cool to see how high the boost/power goes with the water/meth.

  10. an NA Skyline should be in the mid 15's, so it should beat a corsair by a bit. Go to the drags and see for yourself.

  13. Bit of an update, turns out the SSS's cat had collapsed and was restricting it heavily on its runs. Now running a decat and adjustable camgears and will be going for another run
  14. Yeah that's my car, not a lot done mod wise just Exhaust, intake, underdrive pulley and a clutch. OP Learn to use the power that's there IMO, look at go fast mods when you can't go any faster on its current setup.
  15. It will need the engine out, have to use the TT sump Yeah adjustable CAS, so if i drop it back to 10 deg base timing other than losing power will there be any other side effects?
  16. Yep, have a consult display that can retard/advance timing across the board.
  17. Didn't exactly know which section to put this in so i'll put it here. In the upcoming months i'm doing a DE+TT convert on my NA 300ZX. However, i have a question i need answered. I was planning on using a stock TT Ecu till i could get the nistune on there and tuned, however it seems the timing maps are about 4-5 degree's too aggressive in the high load area's of the map especially around peak torque, thing is there will be a Coolingmist Water/Methanol injection system going on..... will the WMI be able to prevent the engine from pinging? Only plan on running 7psi till i get the NIStune tuned for the WMI then the boost goes up.
  18. That's funny because my mates EF XR6 with a fair bit of work done does 15's lol, also a stock FG that comes to WSID does 14.8 sec out of the box. Not doing diff changes or anything like that, i'm going to look on ebay for some 2nd hand Mickey thompson ET streets and get my NIStune done....
  19. When i get it tuned, if i raise the rev limit to 7500 would a set of exhaust side camgears benefit me? I'm going to get the gearbox oil changed to redline as it was a few months ago, didn't have crunching problems then. Not going to do anything to it that can't be transferred over to a boosted motor.
  20. Well, it starts hitting the limiter when i can see the time boards infront of me. On my 14.6 run i did a better 2.22 60' but i think the limiter may have engaged earlier down the track due to getting down the track quicker which may have killed my end time. Also my trap speeds ranged from 95-97mph sitting on the limiter, all with similar 60's. I have the launch nailed(well i dont think i'll get any better on the crap tyres i have), i just need a few hundred more RPM.....or to fix my 4th gear synchro lol. The first 3 taps on the limiter are soft, after that its like you are hitting a brick wall.   21. Yeah GTiR Bonnet, he's going back after he gets his camgears installed and dialled in. I'll be back after i have NIStune aswell, on both my best runs i was on the rev limiter before the finish line so i think the car has a fair bit more to give. I'm aiming for 14.2's with the car all motor.
