  1. Sydney P plater laws state that a P plater can't do engine mods that require an engineer certificate, so extractors are fine.
  2. RB26 turbo's are around the size of a T25 so no they aren't a good power upgrade, but an RB25 turbo is similar to a VG turbo so go for that.
  3. Hey mate, i'm really not sure but i wouldn't expect them to be much different to Poncams.
  4. Quite a few RB25DE's in the 120rwkw-130rwkw range but i've never seen one crack 200rwhp until tonight.
  5. Not sure on the total cost, but i suspect somewhere around the $4000 mark. Yeah thats true but for an N/A its a good effort. Edit: Around 4k as its cams, camgears, nistune+tune etc etc someone correct me im probably way off.
  6. 147rwkw RB25DE "Amazing results with a nistuned Z32 computer modified to run the R33, this cheap alternative is conducted in house and retails for $1300 fitted and tuned, as the R33 computer is not a chippable board. the first run is standard setting with aftermarket exhaust 96.3 kw, then after a nistune chip and tune 121.5 kw! then a set of camshafts and a nice set ENVY Dyno vernier cam gears inlet and exhaust doing away with the variable valve timing showed amazing improvements @ 147 kw! thats almost the power of the turbo engine kids!!" copy paste from the vid URL Edit: didnt let me embed
  7. ^ Happy dyno me thinks
  8. for the 98+ ones it will be for RB25DE "Neo" motors which are from R34's. It's probably their way of distinguishing between the models, now as for R34 Filter fitting an R33 i wouldn't know an i wouldnt think there would be a difference??
  9. You can use it, you have a RB25DE.......theres no such thing as an "RB25E".
  10. Still waiting, will consider other Manual N/A imports now aswell.
  11. I've always wondered, where do you get re-fills done?
  12. Bump, got cash waiting people.
  13. Its nice but i just don't have 10k to spend.
  14. Hey everyone looking for a manual non turbo R33 as close to Sydney as possible, have about $8000 to spend and if you have something i like expect me to pick it up as soon as next week as for mileage under 150,000km is preferable
  15. Still got this mate?
  16. Im still looking people, looking to buy as early as next week. NO AUTOMATIC's and $8000 is my maximum and no i dont want your 180,000+k bombs for that price. In sydney area
  17. You can keep the standard 25t box in there, but it won't be making the power of a standard N/A due to larger driveline loss although that doesn't matter to some people. As for engine modification, thats not the case in NSW. Word from the RTA is that aslong as it's non turbo its legal.
  18. I remember one day, driving around sydney with two skylines......one turbo and on N/A. The N/A had some sort of heat shield over the extractors and a nice custom airbox, both cars get pulled up and bonnets opened......they could not tell the difference between the engines worst thing my mate is a P plater and was driving the turbo and the N/A by a open licenced driver. But really all my mate said to the officer is "point the turbo out to me" and after 10 minutes of looking around he let us go and proceeded to the N/A trying the same thing.
  19. Correct, but not all of the power loss was because of the compression. Comparing the two a GTS25t has a bit more driveline loss when compared to a GTS25 which runs what looks like an RB20DET gearbox. So, yes it is pretty pointless as you'll be driving a low compression N/A with a turbo tranny that'll be sucking up more power, and that loss will only start to increase if you have an Auto tranny. Best solution? Hell i found it cheaper to get a GTS25t, drop in RB25DE, 20DET Box and sell turbo parts off. In the end you'll end up with a N/A skyline with the 5stud brakes, making similar power to a normal N/A liner. For example: N/A R33 - Price boosted by P plater laws - $12,000 Turbo 33 - $8,000 RB25DE - $1,000 20DET box - $800 (best price i found) Labour - Depends, i do most of my own work though. lets say $2000 Thats $11,800 Now sell off your box and motor 25DET - $1,700 25DEt Box - $1,500 Total: $8,600 There you go, unless you can get an N/A 33 for under 8k its not really worth it.
  20. I've seen a GTS25t Bov handle 1.5Bar without issues for quite a while.
  21. Really? so my 40rwkw 780kg kit car won't be that slow after all
  22. 220rwkw on 270cc injectors? Don't think so, Mates was hitting close to 100% on ~200rwkw. Should go for HKS GT2535, GTR pump, GTR Injectors, set of splitfires and and a remap.
