some I took on my recent trip to Fraser Island...sadly could not take the R here...
  2. my 2 cents... i was more or less on the same boat.. but was more comparing R34 to Sti or Evo 8/9 and XI as the samish price range, yet a lot newer and zero KM condition vs 10 year old 65,000km condition. i found that newer cars like the Evo XI and Sti was a lot more refined tham R34 R to site in and drive, speically at low street speeds and the low rpm pick up is a lot better than GTR. but in the end i brought GTR, cos i wanted and always loved them . not cos other cars were any bad. i have not owned a Euro, but driven a friends M3 and was a really nice and easy car to drive, the interior materials, fit and finish was miles ahead i have to say....... only time i have regretted buying the R, was when i recently drove a chipped Focus RS "new model"... it just was as RAW and race car like but a lot more chuckable and felt better than R. Again was driving on the speed limit and no above the limit.
  3. i was also going to comment on the above, when i first took my R34 R for a drive after importing.... i also got bit of shock on the "mechanical -ness" of the 6 speed box... when cold specially.. they can be very mechanical in nature ..... also i would say a compression check is necessary for any GTR purchase.....
  4. their is tread on how to pick R32 GTR based on the VIN, you can solve this issue by looking it up. R33/ R34 - the V-Spec and up actually had FAST showing it as GTR/V for V-Spec
  5. if it comes up as GT-R - that is standard GTR and NOT v-spec or above
  6. Nice Plates
  7. they hit FULL BOOST at 4000rpm really for -5
  8. R34 GT-R vs 09 Nissan "R35" GTR New Car Review don't quite agree with the assumption that the R35 drives it self or boring due to technology but slightly different take on old vs new zilla apologies, if this is posted before

  14. there were a Ferrari Enzo for sale some time back via Shanon's for 700K - 800K i think 1M is insane amount of Money for a Nissan, unless done as Joke or to gage interest
  15. Surely you can import one without too much hazzle R34 GTR's not much selection in Aus, when you deduct the dreamer sellers asking for stupid amounts
  16. read somewhere close to 320hp at the wheels officially 280hp R34 GTR in standard form is pretty slow and very laggy to my liking which is why no keeps them stock

  21. work for a US company and also being state side for long stay's another thing to consider is that in U.S, it very easy to hire and fire people... also there is a BIG difference in Pay "same job" so things to consider... Car and general living is Sooooo much cheaper there it not funny !!! ...
  22. I fixed an earthing kit which really did effect the gear changes on the car, it pretty common thing people do with V35 No other handling stuff was done - the car came with aftermarket suspension from Japan as well, so sightly low ride height, not sure if this effected handling (either in a good or bad way) also as with MANY V35 i had to - replace power window motor's (did it my self by looking at a g35 driver tutorial)- very common issue - had to fix stereo which dropped off front speakers occasionally + add ipod connectivity - very common issue - put back the xenon's after compliance
  23. Had a R33 GTST loved it for 4 years then imported a V35 Coupe (40th anniversary all leather model) Sold within 1st year Brought a R34 GTR I still miss the V35, it is a very nice place to be in and mine was a very smooth car to drive but it's not a car you go "wow" in effect a V35 makes for a very nice daily... but not so good a weekender, where you want to get in and have a big grin when you start the engine Wife bitches about the GT-R and loves the V35 interior and ride ......
  24. i got gates in my GTR, is slightly noisy but not a huge deal really as per other noises, you soon get used to it but when the car idling, you can hear the belt
