Skyline Nationals 2010 Classic Attenders
Ghostrider replied to Factory 5's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Put it on a trailer like I'm going to do with the PNV. Cheers, D -
And I have an HR32 GTSt RB20DET box with a modified bellhousing, waiting in the wings for when the FJ box gives up the ghost under the strain of about 400+HP. And an HR31 GTSt box as another backup. My sources tell me I wont be able to break it and it's heaps cheaper than either the Z32 masTers is using or your GTS25t box your talking about. From what I'm told, you will have to use an FJ20 bellhousing and mate the new box to that. As for turbo's, VG30's are available in good nick for about $300 on ebay, your just going to have to wait till one turns up. Cheers, D

Can Anyone Confirm This For Me?
Ghostrider replied to sobeksminion's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Ah huh! Sweet talk MAG86 for the disc brake rear end he has, on his Ti hatch parts car he is wrecking. He now resides in Canberra near Girls Grammar School. Your going to need the master cylinder as well, because it is valved diferent to the drum brake version. He's away this weekend, but try him Monday. Good luck! Cheers, D -
You is a bit too late Mr MAG's & some of your info is wrong. L28et injectors are 285cc & FJ20et are 375cc, both hose tail connection. And they eazy to find .................... just gotta know where to look lol Cheers, D

The Dr Rebuild Has Begun
Ghostrider replied to Ghostrider's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
I had an Alfa go past me the other day, on my way home from up the coast and it was a very bright golden yellow (not portorecan gold), so I think it's going to be this & purple. A stark contrast I know, but very showy lol Cheers, D -

Maybe not for me! I'll probably be too busy catching up with the lost tribe at the Glenelg. I'm overnighting at Mildura on Wednesday 8th, plan on being at the Glenelg about 1500 on 9th, do the sites before check-in Friday 10th & departing for home & probably via Wagga Wagga Tuesday morning 14th. Hope to see you all there in your finest style. MAG's maybe you might want to RV at Wagga Wagga enroute about 0700/0800hrs on 8th. Cheers, D -
Shocks For An Mr30 Sedan
Ghostrider replied to McBuggsy's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
The R31 rear shocks have a 20mm shorter stroke, which is great for us tarmac terrorists with lowered cars, but for your dirt works, I would get the originals if still available. Koni & Bilstein no longer make the standard R30 configuration rear shock. Cheers, D -
L28ET & L20ET exhaust manifolds are the same. If I was going into a rebuild like this again, I would be using an L24E block, bore it 1.0mm (.040) oversize, L20B pistons and go from there. The L28E conversion is a bit tricky and sometimes a pain in the ass, for the advantages you get. Decide first what your going to do with the car before going crazy with the engine. Cheers, D
-
And LAG out your ass on an L20A engine. Me for one, likes response from the loud pedal and therefore bigger turbo's on a little and very badly designed motor is not a plus in my opinion. Cheers, D
-
What's wrong with a spacer? Your talking about a 5mm spacer washer as opposed to a conversion, or using smaller diameter rotors off the Oz delivered car????????? That would be insane IMHO. Cheers, D

I already have an KHR30 that's 002 white/028 grey, but all white looks very bland in the flesh, as I have seen quite a few. Cheers, D -
The Dr Rebuild Has Begun
Ghostrider replied to Ghostrider's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
The plans! New custom designed front & rear sway bars and springs on JIC Coilovers on all 4 corners, BNR32 GTR front brakes, Upgrade turbo from Billet turbo in Queensland, 14mm O'ring fuel rail & 770cc injectors to go with E85. Repositioning the half cage and drivers seat so that my fat ass will fit better. SAAS reclineable or fixed race seat & Willans 3" 6 point harness. And then see how it goes from there. After the panel repairs have been done, I'm at a loss as to what colour I should paint the front, as o/s door, o/s/f guard & bonnet will be replaced, I'm going to paint everything from doors forward. Any suggestions????? Yellow for exact opposite contrast, Red or Blue or what???????? as it will probably be too hard to match the purple accurately. Cheers, D -

Now new brakes have been fitted to the rear, (Bendix Race Road Track) 8" wheels with 245/45 x 16 semi slicks, have welded the rust in the spare wheel well & both front strut towers. Replaced the tail lights with Aussie delivered S2 MR30 style, to save possible damage to a set of JDM hotplates. Cheers, D -

Since owning this car, I have had it to the tuners for some quick rework to get it going. The air con (compressor, condensor, drier, piping etc etc) was removed, Mines ECU removed, Sump & Oil pickup replaced as the items fitted looked like they had a head on with Oolaroo. Pod filter was relocated to under the n/s/f guard (yes I know all about the dust issue when going bush, but I have 6 of various types) and the ECU replaced with an a/mkt Adaptronics unit. Cheers, D -
In the years BD, or where it began! Cheers, D

R30 Standard Engine Improvements
Ghostrider replied to Daewoo's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
After some careful consideration, I would be looking at 2 things for lack of throttle response. 1. AFM & 2. ECU. As careful as one can possibly be, I'm guessing something has touched and shorted out or the AFM butterfly or sensor isn't working. It starts, so the ECU is telling the motor to work, but it isn't telling it to accelerate? A sensor isn't working as it should. Maybe there is a wire/plug off, or a vacuum line not connected. That's all I can think of. Cheers, D -

Daewoo, Just get onto the SAU site, pick any thread and say something stupid like "keep it up" or "nice idea" or "great work" you must know the drift, do anything on any thread that makes the numbers you need, coz thats what everyone else does to get up the right numbers. There are people on this SAU forum that must walk around with a keyboard up their ass, because when crunching the numbers they have an average of 70~100 posts per day for the length of their time since joining. It's these people that I have zero tolerance for, the multi tasking keyboard kings & queens. Cheers, D -

Darryl, If your an old racer like me, you wont have to be told about setting up your suspension to suit your application, as this will work wonders, as you would be aware. Send me a PM and we can chat out of the forum. Cheers, D
