All is good. Sent Dave an email and explained a few facts and he understands why I said what I did. He may or may not have liked what was said, but all is good, I'm not trying to stir up anything no more. Hope he gets something for it, just got 2 too many doors for my liking. Cheers, D

Oh! If it's manual it's mine tooooooo! Cheers, D

John, With your steering linkage as well, you can buy a/mkt boots that go on the knuckles/joints to help keep the water and dust out of so far good joints. Does wonders for the life of the steering. To change the subject a little, there has been lots of discussions about rack 'n' pinion conversion, maybe try fixing the old before embarking on the new. Replace the worn bushes in the idler arm with urethane/ester, rebuild the steering box, will all contribute to much tighter more responsive steering & feedback. For those that are interested, along with Mag86, we are trying to develop a steering box brace which will improve steering feel by leaps n bounds and maybe a brake master cylinder support as well. Cheers, D

I'll give you $180.00 for the package. DR30 Struts, Strut Brace & Camber tops? Call/PM me and we can do the deal Tuesday or Wednesday. Cheers, D

John, Tie rod ends are replaced complete and you're best to try sourcing genuine Nissan, even good secondhand as opposed to the taiwanese replacements from Rare Spares. Unless of course you don't mind replacing them just about annually. Cheers, D

I'll take the bonnet, if you sell the rest to D-limo. Cheers, D

FWIW! Be very careful what you buy overseas. Have to be very certain the cam you get is a genuine Nissan core. I have a cam that is an C cam, the so called 260Z works competition cam and was guaranteed it was a genuine core, but it wasn't and it arrived in 2 pieces. That being said, I have a fairly wild cam here out of a 280ZX turbo on a genuine blank & have a 270 on it's way, along with new lash pads and recond rockers and new rocker springs. I'm going to use the 270 first as the other is 292 and that's going away for a rainy day. You guys should take a step back and think really hard what your plans are for your car, because the end use will determin the cam and everything else you buy. Horsepower isn't the bees knees of everything, you need torque to create the initial inertia to get the beast rolling and the more of this you have, the better your car will perform. Cheers, D

Jess, I have seen first hand the Paul Newman Version Coupe in ACT and now the pictures of yours, tells me I have the best example of all 3 and IF; I was to put mine on the market, I don't think I would get the dollars you're asking for yours. I'm under no illusions of what these cars are worth and the market they are pointed at and without offshore intervention they are worth didley squat unless somebody particularly wants a Paul Newman KHR30 Skyline. You have to decide if you want to sell it, or if you need to sell it, or if you have to sell it, but if it's the latter, your going to be lucky to see much more than something in the vicinity of $3000.00, particularly as it's unregistered and has been for some time. You might have better success if it's sold within your own state and it's carrying registration, or at the very least, an RWC. Cheers, D In Australia, they are not the collectors item, some people want to perceive them to be. They are just another KHR30 Skyline.

Sorry Jess, But at the dollars you are asking, I think your going to own it for a long time to come. On the pics on your facebook and those that aren't showing what is hinted on facebook, I think your over priced by about $2500.00 and maybe more. The parts listed as included extras, don't make up for what's lacking in the car and far to much has been hacked up to fit the larger speakers. These cars are ONLY going to have some collector value if they are stock, or relatively stock. inside & out and this example you have is now just an KHR30 with Paul Newman on it. Cheers, D

Which Diff For L28 Skyline?
Ghostrider replied to coupe72001's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Well for what it's worth, I'm using a 4.11 in the DR30 with same gear ratios for the likes of Wakefield & Winton, but Eastern Creek I'm going to 3.7 and for the PNV with it's L28et and bags of torque I'm going to use a 3.9 R200 LSD with gear ratios of 1. 3.592, 2. 2.246, 3. 1.415, 4. 1.000, 5. 0.813:1 My theory is on cruise in 5th I will get better driveability with the 3.9/0.813 instead of 4.11/0.833 Cheers, D -
What happened Mike, Sent you a message on yahoo about prepping it for the nationals in 2010 and it's now up for sale? Cheers, Dennis

I'm looking for another & maybe both others. Cheers, D

Bump!

Please supply interior pics including speakers & how mounted. Very curious how & what was chopped up to fit. Will determin my evaluation. Cheers, D

Z31 turbo is the VG30 to use as the Z32 has 2 smaller units and used individually aren't worth much at all. Cheers, D

Marc, I have an R34 NEO turbo for my new L28et, but I'm not chasing masses of HP either. With 380cc injectors & relatively high compression, I'm trying to get torque as opposed to HP. I do have an VG30 hi flow, but am reluctant to part with it for now, but I think they are the best of the factory options and they can be sourced for about $300.00. As it has been suggested the HKS T04E would be fun, but again, anything with the HKS logo is expensive. There are all sorts of combinations available with a T03 mount, just be careful not to buy a T70 Chinese model that does not spool up at all. Cheers, D

No I haven't, but I don't have 450hp and really don't think I need it for my fun toy. I have changed the diff ratio to 4.11 and think I'll have more than enough punch on the tracks I have available. Eastern Creek I'll change to a 3.7, but for Wakefield & Winton I think I'll be fine. If I send you over a rocker cover, can you get it done in the same magic red colour as the manifold? Cheers, D

Depending on what's wrong with your own half shafts, just about any CV repairer can do them. If it's just the boots gone, just replace them with a/mkt replacements. As Mag's says, the Z31 Turbo or HR31 half shafts are the ants pants, but they are nearly as hard to find as rockin horse sh!t. I just purchased a set for 35000 yen for my track DR and with freight into Melbourne warehouse they will cost me a tad under $800.00. But, it's not just a simple swap, the inner flange needs to be changed as well, meaning an rebuild of the rear trailing arm, but once this is done, you will never break another half shaft. Turbo's ........... well these are just about anything goes, but for 300+ rwhp you could get an VG30 hi flow, or an GT3082 or similar. The first thing you have to decide is what your going to do with the 300+ HP, are you going to drag it or track it, because turbos are different to what purpose you want it for. I just bought a custom Billet D-GT2 for my track DR from Mr Turbo in Queensland and it's relatively small due to response required. If your going to drag it, then lag isn't a problem, but on the track, you want as little as possible. Injectors ........... to support 300/350 comfortably your going to need about 550cc & I have 4 that have been cleaned & flowed from an S4 RX7 low imp plus 3 not done. You can have the 7 for $250.00. 440cc as Mag suggests will do the job but the duty cycle will be getting up there. I am running an Adaptronics on my DR30 and it appears to work really good so far. May I suggest you do a search on their web site for an installer/tuner in your local area if that's the way you choose to go, but get a new ECU, don't screw about with copgy back ideas. As for DR/HR import parts ............ good luck, as they are getting very thin on the ground in Japan. SSS can't get enough of them and between Stewart Wilkins and myself, we buy everything they can get their hands on. We are both looking to the US but haven't had any success as yet. Cheers, D

Fastest R30 Sklyine In Aus?
Ghostrider replied to MY308U's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
I don't know that what you have is enough? I know of an KHR31 GTSX that's getting a twin turbo'd VH45 fitted to it. That's a 4.5L V8 all alloy Quad Cam 32V motor with twin turbo's and the engine weighs less than the original RB20DET. If your planning to stay with your 6 cylinder, I would be doing the RB25/30DET conversion first & formost, before anything else and remember there is no substitute for cubic inches. You might have a chance with 3.0L as the torque will be so much better as well. Up against the VH45DETT I don't like your chances. Cheers, D -

http://nissanking.sphosting.com/r30/index.html Break 11 seconds and you need to get an ANDRA license. Break 10 seconds and you need the ANDRA license and parachute & full cage and A BLOODY LOT OF MONEY! Cheers, D -
I think he means fronts, but for a road car, why would you want to go bigger than stock DR & GTR fronts? Cheers, D
-
Exactly the plan! Gotta start somewhere & all the flares I have seen have been grafted to suit with buckets of bog. These should be a fit up thing I'm hoping? And the R30 has a squareish rear wheel arch as opposed to the Z types that are nearly round. Cheers, D

Dave, I thought you were intelligent, but I guess you were standing behind the door when it was being handed out eh? As I have said before, I need to get them before I can evaluate them, but I would assume they would be of some reasonable quality, because Jenesis doesn't sell junk. And to Birth, it wouldn't matter what they were made of, but there has to be something to make a mould from and not just be GP versions that need a lot of bog & putty to smooth them so they look the part and if they are so easy to copy, how come someone hasn't done it already. Go for it, take your shots at anything I have put up, but just keep in mind Dave, your trying to sell a car that looks like it's $200.00 for $4000.00? PRESENTATION is just about EVERYTHING and you're presenting a sh!tbox and a POVERTY PACK at that. Cheers, D
