Allen key socket set i think that's it. Take off the intake, inc pipe up to the throttle body then allen key take off the coilpack cover (Nissan 2500 plate) then socket takes off blots for coilpacks, pull the coilpack out then socket take out the plugs. Do one at a time! Bed time for me now...

Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
GTS-4's are so confusing with suspension its GTR at the front GTST at the rear.......i think The law has been put off for now so you should get it as soon as possible, r33 springs suit r33 shocks? the springs will have a rating as to how stiff they are but they will fit the shock fine. The suspension shops modify it so it suits our roads better (dont know what they do but they basically make it for our roads that are super bumpy compared to japan) -
Its probably just steam. My car does it and the easiest way to tell is if you wipe your finger on the steel of the exhaust (have to be clean of carbon) there will be condensation. guarantee you its steam and nothing wrong with it all cars do it. Umm for a brand new engine 10w-40 once smoke starts to blow (depends how the engine was treated) just go up in grades...... 20w-50 25w-60 40w-70 if it stops blowing out with one of those your sweet for a while, if it blows out 40w-70 when your engine is dead. 20L barrels

Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i had a meeting to go to about the new lowering laws that talks about engineer slips (had to go because work said it was compulsory). You need one now or the cops will fine you. Best get shocks as coilovers that are $2000 and under are actually extremely cheap. They tend to bend and even though they are a Mono build they are usually 10kg at front and 8kg at rear, which is way to much even for track! They make the shocks stiffer to compensate for cheap parts they use to hide the problem (a good set cost 6000+, check with the suspension forums as they constantly talk about what are the worst ones that break. One guy has $22000 racing coilovers so $2000 or less is obviously missing something) KYB are japans most popular shock and they can be taken to a suspension shop and modified for aussie roads. TEIN springs are value for money and go on KYB's as a good set up. Get a quote on KYB's from Supercheap, Autopro ETC ETC and they will be awesome for the street use. Ill get pics of my clean boring stock interior tomorrow..... -
hahaha i guess both of you. Turk1 Yeah if you can find the time to check your oil levels and pull your plugs out every 500km (make sure you give them a good clean) you will be able to tell that your engine has wear because its burning oil that the pistons are leaving behind on the cylinders. Look for black smoke for the exhaust when you take off, Plugs have a build up of carbon on the ceramic, oil level going down and having to refill every ( X about of km) How often do you refil oil and how many Liters are you refiling with? To give you a idea, i had my mechanic do a compression test on all my cylinders and change my plugs. After 1000km my plugs were black and the compression test was something stupid 7:1 i think i cant remember right. Thats the best way to tell the engine has WEAR. i blew smoke i chewed 5L of oil every 500km If you get to this stage just get a new engine.

Sparks Everywhere!
central coast person replied to central coast person's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i checked with my mate and he said the sparks looked like they were a vortex in the exhaust then shot out so im guessing your right about cat breaking apart, or other thing ive been thinking about is the carbon that built up from 10,000km of driving with 5L of 40w-70 oil coming out the engine every 500km and into the exhaust. All the carbon build up could just be breaking out the exhaust with the new engine??? I also checked and my exhaust exhaust system doesn't have scratches on it so it wouldn't be that. Its stock with a cannon so its got LOADS of potential when i start on the engine mods. Ill get pics and videos of it ASAP -
Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had to talk to the highway patrol for about 15min just about having a pod filter on my car and being on my P's.........its enclosed EXTREMELY well but he just didn't care. Highway patrol are different to undercovers and your everyday cops, i have never had a problem with the other two about anything on my car but highway patrol give me hell. HAHA narrr, its my everyday car interior is already done and sound. The body is half way to being done but i have only done the RB27DE to my engine so i can still save that money and get a turbo for a weekend car Once that's done i can only do handling and engine and the handling is awesome so if all goes to plan ill be spending $12000 on parts and do the labor myself as it shouldn't be as hard as the rebuild. -
What is your oil consumption? I had the same problem as you described. I also burnt 5L of 40w-70 oil only driving 500km so keep checking your dipstick to see how your oil is going. (i doubt it will be this bad as the person that owned the skyline before me killed the engine). Especialy if you have black spark plugs, its the number one sign of them burning oil and although your engine is young mine was dead at 150,000km so theres a chance its a internal problem.

Hey guys, My r33 is going all good. The RB27de rebuild i did has given me an extra 500rpm and the redline. Anyway its only done 1200km and i just put new oil in today and oil filter -oil filter and oil done from 0km - 2nd oil filter and oil done from 100km - 3rd oil filter and oil done from 1000km (i went over by 200km but the oil looks new in the engine, im just looking after my engine and keeping it fresh till i can put synthetic in at 5000km ) Anyway i went out for a 1 hour drive to get the new oil worked in and such and had my mate in his 300xz behind me. 5 min away from home and the car was running sweet as always i went to 7500RPM in 3rd and backed off as that was enough for one night with my new engine. Get home and my mate is like "I just saw sparks explode from your exhaust and go bouncing all over the road" Now i checked oil to see if i burn any :oil didn't go down on dipstick :Still the same color as it was when it came out the bottle :And i didn't burn and for sure because my exhaust is polished up and 1cm inside it is and there was not a single bit of carbon on the polished lip its still shiny as. I didn't have a clue it spat sparks and its still running the same as it has been but im basically wondering what happened here and is it a bad thing or one of those things engines do because they can? Cheers, Andrew

Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Interior: Ive brought back stock interior because its so comfortable and the only thing that isn't stock on the interior is the gear knob. Probably keep it stock as its a street car and the best thing is cruising around in comfort. Exterior: This is obviously the best way to do it seeing as its not that expensive. Get a bodykit for $800 get it prepped and fitted for usually $1800 (good job), HID kit, nismo smoked indicators and good set of rims (mono block build) probably looking at $4000-$5000 all up. Sound: Its up to you there are rampage set up which are about $750 for a CD player 4 spearkers a amp and a sub ( HAHA dont bother) or get decent sound. i spent $3000 on double din, 4 speakers and a amp . Thats it Handling: Probably the smartest to do as it might save your life and your cars. There are lots of parts to look into here. If you get a GTS-4 it is basically all done for you, i have one and im pulling about 137kw at all 4 at the moment and its perfect because its built to handle GTR power. If you want the GTS then also think about getting KYB shocks and TEIN springs, Its about 1500-2000 (same as coilovers) and much better handling as a proper set of coilovers are +15000 no joke (check the suspension forums) Engine: Ive been pulled over 3 times this week and only have a pod filter 1\3 told me to take it off and its encased. Some cops are awesome some are strict. Probably best to stay away from this as i have made my skyline a rb27de the cops cant see this. Exhaust systems is always fun With exterior, sound and handling you could spend $15,000 no problem so there is something to consider and keep you busy not worrying about the engine. -
Spark Plugs What Do You Use?
central coast person replied to simpleboyy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i use NGK platinum's Will probably change to Splitfire triple platinum's as ive heard they are good. Depends how much you would spend. Redline 10w40 is $160 for 3.8L so that wont fill the car you need a quart aswell, there about $45. I have never come across a problem with it and don't know anyone who has. Its just a wallet emptier. -
Just Me Venting.. Why Buy Non Turbo..
central coast person replied to Nick.'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just a stock but if i did buy these i would defiantly have to start changing parts everywhere. I have loads of parts in my spare garage like extractors and Nismo fuel pump, Nismo fuel regulator and a few other little bits that i just don't want to get on at the moment because im pretty much waiting on a 2.5 Kakimoto system. When i want to make the top end more complimentary for the 2.7L im probability going to have to feed it a fair bit more air. Hope new Splitfires will ignite my fuel that's running rich so i wont need to change fuel system parts I -
I'm with DKNE as well. Haven't got them on the car at the moment because im waiting for a Kakimoto catback aswell, but i had them looked at by 2 mechanics because they thought $800 was really cheap for NA extractors and they were shocked. They said the quality is the same as the 1500 ones.

Ehh everyone's pulling such bad fuel economy. I'm getting 600km to 65L on 98Oc.............(Central coast driving, no highway), and its a 2.7 L now Anyone else getting the same? This was about commodore drivers, yeah i get a lot of, my car could beat your car talk from them but i have never ever met someone in my whole entire skyline life of 1 year and 2 months that said my skyline is ugly. Not even commodore drivers bad mouth it. Check it out;) Well the laddies did do there voting Pretty sure skyline wins hands down now. The majority of people in the world love its look and things like the top gear vote are everywhere over the internet. The majority of people like the look so try not to narrow it down as if you think its ugly then it must be because you said it was... Performance wise i spent a nice $4000 on making my engine new and a RB27DE so mines got the power it needs to perform faster than what it did from the factory The PO PO pulled me over today to see if it had a turbo because of my red P plates, NICEST COPS EVER. I ended up talking to them for like 20min -

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH to the supra being mistaken for a Ferrari, Awesome i recon a posers car is a European car???? Skylines wouldnt fall under a posers car. If you go to japan they are more of the outlaw car over there and not a posers. All the gangs and guys wanting some EHH EHH have Europeans cars. I think that because Australia has so much ugly cars it just looks like that so ...... maybe to a Australian its a posers car. I dont know how you can compare this because all skylines are different. Sounds like some people have gone out and brought a lemon. My r33 has been compleatly reconditioned and only done 600km at the moment. Haven't driven it over 3500rpm but it still unbelievably fast :| ............ this proves how the cars spent its life. You have to remember a lot of drivers thrash the shit out of skylines (commodores too) engines until you come across a enthusiast that looks after it. A new skylines is faster than a new commodore in my eyes from experience. Buuutt if you really want to fix the problem make it a RB27DE like i have just done -
Car Drives Like Crap When Cold
central coast person replied to 4 door love's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My uncle is a mechanic aswell and my car does the same on a cold morning (brought this up to him one day) and if i dont tap the accelerator it will stall. My engine has only done 465km (BRAND NEW PISTONS FULLY RECONDITIONED TOP AND BOTTOM END!!!) its not a engine problem he also said like above, it was a 'choke' like mechanism but on a car. There are a fair few problems that have to be trialed and crossed out, simple things like cleaning parts and resetting the ecu and installing sensors will eliminate what it would be but im pretty sure its what i have. -
Cleaned Throttle Body, Now Revs High
central coast person replied to Pete82's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
yeah, just pump it a few times. I usually turn the light on in the car just to see if Ive pumped it enough. Once thats done take it for a drive. -

Did you reset the ECU and take it for a 20min drive??? -
Car Drives Like Crap When Cold
central coast person replied to 4 door love's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
my mates 300zx's throttle body was getting stuck because it was a bit dirty and when the engine warmed up the alloy expanded and it wouldn't stick. fiddle with the throttle body and throttle cable as thats the first easiest thing to eliminate. -

Hey, do you have the window switch surround for the drivers sider. Its the plastic thing on the door and the little finger tray thing pulls out with it -
i ended up getting locking ones because MY LITTLE BROTHER took them for his BMX all the time so i just did that. Just really anoying trying to fit a 1.2mm allan key in the cap when you want air in your tyres.
-
yeah no problem. ill get the tyres on them. Ive only got 10% tread on the front right and 80% on the rest. Ive got to get the CV fixed Anyone know who does a good CV? i really need it because i have grease all through my front right guard and my tyre is almost dead.
-
My dad fixed the problem today. He jacked the car and took the old rims off but it on bricks (HAHA looks funny like that) and look at what we could do and the rear hubs actually got a shorter thread and the split pin sits closer to the chassis so that metal thread isnt as long so my rims fir on without modding anything .... on the rear The front we chopped 2mm of the 6mm thread before the pin and they fit fine now. All sweet

I Need New Gts-4 Shocks! Advice!
central coast person replied to bretto1588's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
HSD's off ebay are pretty good and the guy on there will give you GTR fronts and GTS-T rears as a package for no extra cost $1399 brand new and REALLY good coilovers. Other than that there is cheaper coilovers everywhere but i recon HSD's are best value.
