dont forget the bottom end of the engine has a few differences (such as a different shape to fit in the engine bay and obliviously a different sump) therefor a gts25\t cant be installed because the engines size is different and will have to engineer the engine mounts to fit it. hesh your skyline does have the cluster because you stated that it read 4WD which should say 'slip' next to that one aswell , (meaning its the gts4 cluster) slip light will turn on when there is a loss of traction, 4WD light will turn on or flash only when there us a fault in the system and obviously you have one haha. ECU is different too...... ummm you have 4WD diff's suspension all your steering components, ie pump, rack etc brakes are apparently different but i looked at the computers at work the other day and all non turbo skylines fell under the same brake pad, even if there was ABS so i would like someone with a GTS4 to confirm this as the computers see no difference in the GTS4's brakes. thats all that pops i to mind atm thats all i can think of atm

R33 Gts4 Engine Swap To A Turbo
central coast person replied to HannibalK1ng's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hmm i brought a rb25de to do my engine and the whole engine is shaped differently (why the sump had not a chance in fitting) the rwd sump is the part that gets in the way on the drivetrain, then we tried every possibility in the world with the rb25de engine and in the end just used some parts off it on the gts4 engine that i have on a topic on at the moment pretty happy it didnt fit because i have 50thou's now. in regards to the build, new pistons are not your worries now as you will want to go bigger when your off your P's most likely and as much as i reckon your crazy doing it on your P plates, just keep it standard because a turbo is a big enough fine for now if it goes wrong. haha -
R33 Gts4 Engine Swap To A Turbo
central coast person replied to HannibalK1ng's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you want it to stay as a 4wd then its going to not work getting a rb25det from a GTST. First hand experience with gts-4 engine is they are just a mixed engine. Probity best to bolt a turbo on for money sake but if you want a engine then you need, Stagea engine. Fit a gts-4 no problem a GTST engine wont even fit in your engine bay because it will sit on the drivetrain and a GTS-4 engine is shaped same as a GTR at the sump so it wont fit getting a GTST engine and swapping the sump -
agree so much there. about the gtst (rb25det) being a single turbo 'rb26det' :thumbsup:ayyyyy, are probity easier to source power from and remember you said street. a rb25det with a single turbo that fair in size will lag more compared to a rb26det with the same induction set up i recommend sitting down with a mechanic or friend or who ever you want to help you with this build and write up options and put them on paper in a folder and get your prices. It will show price, power and availability (paper wise until you figure out thats the right set up) still think a rb26 engine would be safest bet mate. not forgetting overall your car your choice.

people debate if nitrous-oxide is forced and its not forced induction just mixes in with the fuel. Just another liquid added to the car which is why i include its input to kW's. Then again i get what your saying and it isnt seen as forced induction in racing but drives are to state yes or no to there cars if there run on nitrous-oxide because its got its own category just for that type of ........ 'enhancement'. Who knows what natural not even plain old ron98 is agreed with the amount of kW you want for a street car???? if so a 400Kw street car is seen as a work of art getting on the road. Also difficult to drive just because all the parts are going to have to be fairly heavy duty with that power and not street friendly. if your after a street car look how far you can go at making it a desired car with power and comfort for driving because if you make a mistake with the power you most likely wont make money back selling the car or parts to quieten down your car.

in that case those dimensions are there for what you should do

most defiantly 2.8l stroker kit and CUSTOM forged pistons(ones with unique crowns that are higher than factory/conrods and bigger cams, Custom exhaust system from extractors to tip, 6 cylinder DCOE 52/48mm (some ridiculous injectors to make requirements of air to fuel Ratio, porting the head, increasing the heads face to an overall compression ratio to 11:1, nitrous-oxide SYSTEM (correct injectors to support this again ..... more matching!!!), MSD ignition modules, ECU ....... other bits and bats yeah i reckon 300kw N/A is possible with the money and right parts NOT WORTH IT!!!! no even for show. it will just cost so much in fuel and insurance and stuff. MissR34 + 1 with the stupidity

well your sump is a GTR one im rebuilding my engine at the moment mate with 50thou pistons and the bottom end is GTR where it meets the sump and RWD where it meets the head to suit the rb25 head......basically and honestly a gts-4 is a mongrel to work with in parts. If you were to buy a rb26dett you would need to look into a bolt in job as i know that DIMENSIONS (L x W x H) (mm). NOTE* this is manual, auto engines have different dimensions rb25de:2wd 845x595x680 rb25de:4wd 845x595x690 rb26dett: 870x656x675 there may need to be some work with the engine mounts but a rb26dett will be able to sit snug in height, the placement of turbos and such are going to probity be placed far away from stock engine bays specs and you may find that your going to have to build a rb26 thats gona look different in the engine bay. Also part wise you will be able to find some GREAT parts just as cheap as a gts-4 part and make 400KW for half the price with EZZEEEEEE

judging by your picture or your car you have a series 2 wing, if you like the skyline garnish i found this little substitute for it. i like it better than the rear garnish but i guess having both would be a alright match. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R33-...A1%7C240%3A1318

R33 Makes Really Bad Rattle @ 3k Rpm
central coast person replied to Awesome's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
this forum can be closed and never seen again Answer: its just a characteristic of the engine thats only a problem when you change the zorst system far from stock. If you dont want the noise to be noticed the easiest way to get rid of it is a stock zorst system from catback. There are aftermarket ways and yes you can have desired response but you must use mufflers and resonators to quiet the noise so you dont have this being loud. In turn your zorst system when it = quiet, your 'Rattle' will = quiet. im starving to get my car on the road so i called up to ask when i can do the engine and got this answer back for the sake of it.....didnt get a straight answer on my car though his laziness is upsetting -
New Exhaust Too Loud, How To Lower Noise?
central coast person replied to Awesome's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hahahhaahhaa, seriously man. Are you just one of those annoying people who go around the internet causing trouble. Someone with a skyline would respect any information given -
i have a gts4 and dont know about the suspension because i get different answers all the time. service wise its a very easy car

hey steph, i have one and i have a set of spark plugs, oil filer, air filter (pod though) at my uncles sitting there in boxes with part numbers:down:. ill call him tomorrow and get all the part numbers off him as i dont know them off by heart. What are the leads for????? P.S. are brands an important roll for you as i use Spark plugs- (Platinum NGK's) Leads- ???? Oil filter- (genuine nissan) no need for expensive ones with magnets in them and what not. get a magnetic sump plug and its a lot cheaper and does same thing =\ Air filter (standard panel)- (genuine nissan? ryco? or KnN?) Ryco is better than genuine nissan because its EXACTLY the same but cheaper. Shocks (all 4)- ????? =\ geez there are part numbers thrown everywhere for shocks. Go on supliers web sites and contact them with your model for shocks because gts-4's are always getting people going wrong numbers here and im not sure whether the r33 standard front and r32 GTR rear Shock rule is right because sounds wrong to me. Best leave that to inquiries. few threads with what people use here, its up to you. I find the best two would be royal purple (cheaper alturnative but very good) red line (expensive but amazing)

better still i should correct that with scanvenging, which is made with a small pipe. Back pressure is fine its only wasted energy???? and the scanvenging is like a vaccume and will suck air out the cylinders??? (think my words have been mixed around) think thats how it goes. did you also check the welds on the cat and muffler this might relate to the problem :S -

central coast person replied to Awesome's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
they are both 3" systems so it will make you lose a lot of power, response wise. sure your top end RPM will be better but i doubt we should be driving 6000G's everywhere look to keep your whole cat back 2.5" its a rule that you should stick to if you want back pressure for response. :PBJ: -
for all us guys trying to find the vibrating noise i just dug this up and there is yet another solution to fixing the problem same characteristics in sound as to we are getting confused as to all the things people do to fix it?????

engines go "tick, tick, tick" the bottle even says for noisy lifters haha i doubt its the engine because i have mine out of my car at the moment and everything is being upgraded so we have taken every single piece of my engine apart and reconditioned it and all the components like seats and lifters and valves, ect are being re used so the top end wasnt the problem for noise. Main and Con rod bearings do make a metallic chattering sound when dieing..............again once my engine is together ill see if that solved my problem but it didnt sound like it was the engine it was around the gearbox and id expect the lights to come on once the engine is dieing and making noise like that. -

judging by the searches ive done people are saying rattling and all symptoms sound the same but ive read one fixed with coil packs, the others a new cat and some bearings. auto or mannual they all seem to get it so im going to say its not a gearbox problem. Im lost for ideas, when mine is up and running ill get my uncle to see what it is if no one finds a solution. hes like my master sensay haha -

what are the brands of muffler and cat??? like Eug said do you know if you have stainless steel because it will make it resonate. if you want to get rid of this you will have to completely change you cat back system a 2.5" system will restrict it resonating and you also said in another thread the comparison of twin tip and single. Varex defiantly wont fix this problem because its not a great brand (x-force) the best thing (and what i do) is PM people with the problem by searching forums and ask if they have fixed it and how because i dont know what brands will help with this as its a characteristic with the car. -

Is Twin Exhaust Better Than Single?
central coast person replied to Awesome's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
you cant exactly say its better just because there aren't spec's of the exhaust, it also depends on the system: mandrel bent system is a must for a N/A power wise....but thats the system and there are rules and many components there. judging by what you ask performance stock r33 gtst exhaust would be good performance wise, noise not so eye catching, but a varex from x-force is the mix between performance and noise and as long as you dont use a cannon you will be ok just stick to keeping the pipe work 2.5" diameter and the outlet not to big -

ahhh ok. mines a series 1.5 gts-4 with the blues. thats unusual that its such a messed up system there, the guy i brought it from wanted to buy red badges for my car when he was telling me about it and i was like PFFH blue is its DNA for NA, also a standard gts25 compared to a gts25 type S is the engine gts25 used a series 1 set up and the type S used a series 2 set up. (keeping in mind this is series 1.5) they were obviously experimental with these cars mixing parts and such from series '1s and '2s which is the only difference to why, well i can see here, that they put a red badge on it the gts-4 however had a series 2 engine but its blue so ehhhhh. They sure are inbreed cars the series '1.5s
