126, i did NCO's and senior NCO's courses with a few of your guys/ladies...
Kogler, Grieves, Barclay & Chin to name a few...
great times in the late 90's forged some great friendships, best times...
that was bray park hey?
i was at enoggrea barracks attached to 1JSU as our billet squadron...
i went on to join in 1999 as a reserve...
left in 2005 after work not being flexible towards being a reservist...
it was join full time or quit for me...
Afraid not, cant even get my wife in on the deal...
Need a medical clearance, training and special permission to ride in a gov heli...
Alternatively get stuck in a tree and they might give you a free ride to higher ground...
been up in the copper today again, brisbane is a sea of activity...
people, cars, trucks everywhere...
seems business is back to normal for the major shopping centers...
hope the people who bought 20 loaf's of bread die eating them, wankers...
ok so i just got home...
been up in the air all morning delivering supplies into the locker valley and all I can say is "f**k"
we took off from redcliffe aerodrome which was an effort to get too, i saw the damage the pine river has done
then i thought this is bad, we got further over mt glorious and then i saw the real damage
holy shit is all i can say, it is all kinds of screwed up and the rest you cant see cause its still under water
i have drawn inspiration to download the old kevin kostner movie "water world"
5% complete already, give it another 20 minutes and ill be getting educated on what may be next week...
forget the shops
i went at midday and all the bread/milk and such items were gone... none left at all...
people were going crazy, the softdrinks isle and chips were empty and the line to get to the checkout was over an hour at midday...
i heard on the news most supermarkets are closing at 4pm due to lack of stock and personal staff needing to leave...
so the river has broken, time this shit just got very serious...
we are ok, the drive way is directing waters down towards the garages and the drains are over flowing...
lucky the concrete's sloped down the side of the house so its just taking all my gardens down to the back shed...
the lakes would need to rise about 4m for me to be in any danger of flooding...
if that happened 10,000+ around strathpine & aspley would be in greater danger...
im pretty confident we are safe... fingers crossed...
col goes to toowoomba this morning early left home at 4am...
col does his days work with the hope of getting home early to play ps3...
a piss load of rain falls, tbar range get closed due to land slide...
i take the DR route, so does everyone else...
get back to the highway some hour later, its flooded over at Heliden...
col gets home at now whe i left there at 2pm
thanks guys, i just hate funerals... and the wife is ok, it was their time...
wish i didnt have to go to the funeral, would rather be working on a hot engine in a tin shed in the middle of summer...
i would usually suggest high flow but he said he was just after a replacement, nothing for horse power application...
hence i suggested a stocker... plus their cheap...
i think holding back the smile as you told the story might give it away...
cause i would piss myself trying to pass it off as the truth...
2011 blue premium, expect delivery in March at this stage...
I should elaborate its not mine as in im not paying for it, but its living with me...
