  1. the new mobile point to point camera systems were being tested up on Mt G over the weekend... the bike riders at the cafe got a warning and a demo of what the system can do, anytime anywhere...
  2. Used to describe a person who is so pathetically infatuated with a person or sexually desperate that they become so desperate, they actually plunder the meaning of the word desperate.
  3. Yeah i understand... i felt the same way about a few others who are no longer in business (which is good)...
  4. So yeah i have, when selling the S15 on carsales... If the time since the ad was created is more than 14 days and its still not sold they call you... I was not interested in using their service at all, as you know everyone needs to make a buck so i feared their offer... I was right... So redbook on the car said; *$10,400 to $12,600 trade *$12,000 to $14,000 private *80,000 to 140,000km ODO They offered $6k cash and they will organise a tow truck to pick it up. I said "its registered and road worthy, its not damaged its as original as the day it was made" They said "no $6k is our offer for the car in good order as described, the tow truck is simply so we can transport it" I sold it for $17,500 a week later... That was back in March this year... It was a Aussie delivered GT model, so i had to wait for the right buyer who was not distracted by import versions... In short the "we buy your car now" people only live for the really despirate people, i mean really despirate... Id be pretty sure they wont buy imports, or if they did its be seated before they gave a price... "I have this R34 NUR, what will you give me"... "Arhh lets see, $6k"... lol
  5. For every 100 happy customers there generally a few unhappy ones... That goes for any business... Mercury have been up and down over the years, they even f**ked over the club once... but thats all in the past... the entire staff has changes over in the past 2-3 years... I was just advising on whats close by as per the 'OP' I was thinking GT Auto also, but feared the quote price so didnt mention them... As for $1600 @ Mercury... Go fish... If it were me id DIY, but then if you've never done one before than dont try... Dan (ERD) will be the fairest on price i think, he is southside tho which is why i didnt mention him... I assume you wanta drop off the car local, then cab it to work and come back for it same day or next day?
  6. Hendra is not too far from Newmarket... Mercury were advertising some special on 100k skyline servicing recently on facebook... Its probablly the closest to you that has a good rep & very involved in the scene... otherwise the rest of the good shops are on the southside...
  7. use a dyno... there are hundreds in Brisbane and they cost very little to hire... (compaired to tickets)
  8. there is infact a whole section dedicated to it... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/forum/190-projects-overhauls-and-build-ups/
  9. When living at Chermside i had 2 kids attempt breaking into my 31... we had a heavy gravel driveway, their foot steps woke up the dog which in turn woke us up... they heard the dog and were off faster than a flash... sometimes simple security devices such as things than make noise can be good... on a similar case while im here; there is a foxtel scam going on atm also... they come to your door, attempt to sign you up to foxtel (has shirt, cap, id, etc) they just want your credit card details... you will not get an install, just your cc emptied of its credit limit... fyi while on this topic... also another point if selling your car, be sure to get a photocopy of their drivers licence before letting them drive... if they have all the excusses in the world why not to give you a licence then piss them off... mate of mine works with the police on stolen vechicle recovery (specialist with recoverys from waterways)... anyway he said there has been a huge increase in theft via private car sales... i mean how easy, "can i test drive please" "here is the keys, enjoy"... use caution always... car dealers photocopy our drivers licences before we can test drive, so private shouldnt be any different...
  10. Lets do another ribs night then... Here is the docket... ---> http://www.shopadocket.com.au/view_coupon.asp?id=233234 Its buy one meal (ribs are $23) and get the second for $5... So two people split and its $14 each for the best ribs in Brisbane... Its Mon to Thurs... Lunch or Dinner...
  11. Nah it was the Petrie tavern... I got a couple of buy one meal and get the second for $5 vouchers... So the ribs cost like $28 for 2 serves with chips and salad and they are the BOMB...
  12. yeah i was a member of them back then... from memory there were only 3 x HR31 GTSX converted silver tops with manuals... mine was one of them... there is a good chance this one could have been my old girl... Apexi AVC-R in it by any chance and a rubber gear stick boot? It also had a turbo smart bov, apexi turbo...?
  13. there are 2 total on carsales, one has been turned into a TTV8 and the other a neo... i sold mine in 2004 for 10k... just to upgrade to a boat... a very fast boat, but never the less a boat...
  14. those pics inspire my to want to buy another GTSX/GTSR I need to stop looking now...
  15. yeah mister mint or what ever their called did my blank neugun key. I think it was $15 from memory s they had to di it by hand, it took 24 hours. That was sbout 6 years ago now.
  16. Ive been away all weekend on the hunt, up mission point with the boat and jetski... Weather was not the best Saturday, but as long as there is water and something is biting im happy... I dont take unless im going to eat it, so most of what we catch goes back... About 95% of whats hooked goes back i reckon... Im just in it for the fresh air and the time spent with friends...
  17. maybe, but the servo was about 250m away and they had no fuel carrying containers... no other choice, so 2 of us pushed it...
  18. its a 41L just a lazy 2500 cubes lol that will fit yeah?
  19. push it like a 200 series landcruiser thats run out of diesel on the gold coast highway... so you gotta put an unlicensed 15 year old at the wheel to steer so the adults can push...
  20. arhhh yes, i now see your point... very true... although im not sure about the Lexus, when you pop the hood all i see is a massive plastic cover... so who knows whats going on under there, probably a big Japanese mouse on a wheel...?
  21. thats half of my jetski... and 2/3rd's my bike... and sadly 3/4th's my car
