How Hard Is It To Register A Vehicle For The 1st Time In Oz

cool, thats neither of the ones I removed... Just make sure its not the usualy scam, of "Im over seas right now, deposit the funds here and the keys are yours"... Of course inspect and record the VIN and Engine Number for a REV's check and you'll be safe... -

HOLD UP!!!! Ive stopped two "for sale" car threads on here in the last 2 weeks both were re-birthed R34's... Im not saying the one your looking at is these cars... Its just not many people sell complied cars with no rego... And its sounding just like one of the car threads I closed already... Just make sure you do a REV's check on the car before you do anything... Once the REV's check is clear, and you have the compliance paperwork & road worthy cert then go ahead with the transaction... It will also pay to call the shop that complied the vechicle and just make sure they did do it, cause one of the threads I closed had false compliance paperwork... But yeah the REV's check will tell all... Do it first... And dont take the Vin from the seller either, go and inspect the Vin plate yourself and write down the number... -
Yep, so due to the weather this morning I was unable to take any before photos... And after photos are pointless.... CAUSE ITS LOOKS ALL BRAND NEW... Worked out to be $220 total... So im pretty happy with that, they were not the cheapest but they do have a really good rap... +1 from me too...
-
Yeah as of the 1st July expiry date, V8's go to just under $1000 for 12 months... It sucks, but there is little we an do... You live in Dalby??? I'll be there Thursday morning... Tis a nice drive out there (the back way)...
-

-
date your title in future please... no dates in title makes it difficult...
-

I just booked in for monday with http://www.undintit.com.au/ Will let you know how I go, but looking at website they do fixed price removal of $110 per panel onsite... Im goona go with the "at thier workshop" option as its a 20% saving and close to the office... So tad over $80 per panel... Everyone I called was $100+ per panel and even more for onsite repair, or over $70 per dent... I called and said, I have two dents almost the same on both rear doors, he said oh we will take care of you to keep it under $200... So thats 4 dints repaired for under $200 (hopefully)... And they are gonna look at a little mark in the rear right wheel arche which I only just found today after going over the car with a fine tooth combe... So yeah, ill let you know...
-
$60 per go is pretty good...
-
yeah yeah, its not a deep dint due to it being right near the edge of the door (stongest part of the door) but it sucks... will be easy to fix, for a professional I mean... Id never try my hand at body works...
-
Hey Yall Bloody white car slamed their door into my rear left door today leaving a 15 cm high dint in my door and a line of paint from their car on my door... Paint came straight off no worries, but has left a crease mark and has really annoyed me... Im so pissed right now, must have been very intentional to do so much damage... Bastards... (Need less to say no note left behind) Im looking for someone who can hep me out with like a paint less dint removal??? Ive done it before with some of my older cars, but never with this one... I got charged an arm and a leg last time I did it so I dont want to go back to them... Does anyone here do it, can you adivse on a good place to get it done cheap??? Brand new car, with a bloody dint... Arhhhhhh

I edited about max... might wanta give that a second look, might help... FYI, there are a few govenment incentives in the US at the moment also to buy american... Bit similar to the Aussie inventment allowance, but the twist over there is to qualify it must be an american built car... So if you were after a new sports cars currently the Corvette's will probablly look a heap more attractive than a GTR when it comes to drive away cost... Just some food for thought...
-
Well Max its called trust... Thats how you know what price they are my friend... (edit) As to how i know... like i sad eariler a family member worked over there for 4 months and eneded up buyign a car rather than renting... He commented when he got back that he could have bought a ZR1 for 80k, as they had them in the showroom at the chev dealership with fluro marker pen on the wind screen... Like all chevs at the moment you can buy one for 15 to 25% off RRP... Having worked in sales now for 11 years, when a product becomes aged or slow moving many retailers and wholesalers will go well and truly below their cost price just to get stock to turn over... It happens every day here in Australia also, just not to the extent of the US car market is right now... Note: The term below cost, generally does not include any rebates or kick backs... So rarely does a company actually loose money overall... I think we both agree all are nice cars, the video is a bit weird as the three cars should be rather separated at 200kph but anyway which was my point...
-
Yeah, I can remember it now... Twas a Callaway engine package... Then sold under HSV... So was not factory HSV... Just like (as I said before) the super clubby, Sv5000, GTS-R... etc etc now we are just arguing symantics... (bang head here)
-
So i could sit here all day and argue with you Max, but there is no point... Like this video/thread there is no point... as for a defined responce to the video topic at hand... (ie back on topic) maybe the ZR1 driver was distracted by a big boobs blonde in the passenger seat... maybe the gtr driver put in some v-tec yo... maybe the ZO6 tail car used diesel which is where his extra performance came from...
-
My bad... I got it all mixed up... Its been a while since they were for sale new... The SV5000 was the green one and the GTS-R was the yellow one...
-
Ummm firstly lol... @ compairing apples to oranges... my hat comes off to you guys... made my afternoon... Max_STR, the vett's are hard enough to sell in the good time... But any chev is under a fire sale at the moment to try and turn stock into cash... The longer these cars sit in yards the more despirate GM are to turn the stock... There is no worse debt than to have 100,000 cars sitting gathering dust 12 months after they were made... The whole brand new vechicle market in the US is almost at a stand still... See the GTR can hold its value as its almost built to order... There are so few GTR's going to the US from Japan (number of vechicles vs population) and they selling all of them before they land (similar to the Australian GTR market)... So why discount something they cant get enough of... Make sence??? PS> Bird, The W427 was limited to only 427 units built... So it became an instant collectors item hence the $150k price tag was never a problem... Max_STR, Also im unsure about this VX GTS you speak off... It must have been an aftermarket walkinshaw build or something... As HSV never directly marketed the car via dealerships, similar to the current "super clubby" or the old VS model called the "SV5000" which came in yellow only... All built by HSV and then supp'ed up by pro-torque aka walkinshaw

Targa got too expensive to do every year so I had to hang up the boots in 2006... But yeah if your ever up this way for a Noosa hill climb or a Mount Cootha classic let us know... That sounds good... Will be interesting to see what the outcome is...
-
Thanks Jeff... PS> We met in 2004 at Targa, I pay close attention to all the GTR's on the scene every year... I was supporting/mech for a '+8 Morgan' in 2003 and a '2002 BMW' in 2004, 2005 & 2006...

I said, this video shows very little... So i dont mean to attack you so take this as straight talk... If your paying $105k USD for a ZR1 than you are the biggest fool on earth... Yes the RRP is 105k on their website but as you know the US market is in such a bad way you can pick up a ZR1 at the moment of change from 80k... Tis true... That said, any imported cars like the GTR are holding their price as sales on these are subject to the japanese market not the US market, so in short this puts them on the same playing field in price... Hence my original comment... Side track, a family member was in the US in Jan til May on work... Was going to rent a car, basic car... Was cheaper to buy a brand new Chevy Aveo driveaway than to rent one for 4 months... Their so despirate to move new cars, they have hundreds of thousands in holding yards all over the country... Secondly, the ZR1 and GTR dont race in the same categories they are two different cars... Im not saying one is better than the other, I never tryed to compair them... I simply said the video shows nothing (truthful)... Infact you wanta take it there, ok the ZR1 should toast the GTR easily in a straight line but I refrained from mentioning it and just said how did the ZO6 keep up... You said it yourself, it has more power and weights a fair bit less... So how to propose the GTR and ZR1 are side by side over on a rolling start??? Think about it... The video tell us nothing... Like I said before... /rant ends Hey I got an idea lets compair apples to oranges...
