  2. Look to be honest I personally have had two Malpassi's before and both worked a treat... However Ive worked on cars with them that have nothing but dramas, easy to see with a basic autometer pressure gauge under the bonnet... But yeah a good electronic boost controller is a bit of a must have and you want the boost pressures to stay constant and not spike and carry on etc... Aim for one of the HKS EBC or Blitz SBC systems, make sure its a dual solinoid model like the SBC-ID-III or Spec R... The ignition system probablly needs a once over if you want to make a realiable 350hp+ on stock internals... One or two little ignition failures at this level could render an entire engine usless... As for street useage, well 320-250hp is perfect... Dont get caught up in HP heros try setups... Lag sucks when you wanta go from 0 to something...

  4. Agreed 720cc injectors are over kill... and yes you can buy too big, as the duty cycle in percentages means greater graduation between settings... But yeah 8psi is not going to give you much more then 170rwkw... Does not matter what else you have done, thats pretty much stock boost... You want a big difference you need to give it a face full of charged air... Take it back to GT Auto, give them the car and wind up the boost a bit more and re-tune it... You will probablly need quite a few more bits and pieces to get to the 260-270rwkw area but its hard to say without knowing what else the car has and needs... Best off getting some advice once you know what you want... What i mean to say and we can all help, but what power level do you expect??? Are you ok with a bit of lag? Whats the budget and time line from here? Most importantly, what is the car for?

  7. NOY, how are ya mate... Can you please shed some light on carbon facts/fiction??? I had an understanding which I think you were telling me, but there seems to be a few stories on here about facts of carbon... Care to share a little???
  8. You dont need to touch the plenium, throttle body or cams to make 300rwkw... Also 800cc injectors are over kill, 550's are perfect... As for the turbo the smaller GT3037, GT30r or GT30/40 would also be suitable for 300rwkw, just depends on how you want your power to come on... PS> 300rwkw in an auto means quite a bit of power at the fly, when you get up around these numbers a forged rebuild is a must if you want it to last...

  10. Your average SS can only run a 14 second qtr mile... Auto or manual... The older ones are even slower again... A few mild mods and an SS runs 13's but it gets pretty expensive for an SS to go faster than that... (ie. Cam, head work, forced induction etc) Now an R34 auto with a few mods would be able to run a 13 also maybe even a high 12 with some sticky tyres and a good 260rwkw as Dan suggested... Is this what you needed to know??? (Note: I actually own a VE SS as my current daily. Its a 6 speed manual and has about every mod you can do without opening it up. It runs a 12.9 on street tyres at street pressure and pump fuel. Now my mate owns the same car with the same mods, even the same tune but his is auto. He runs a 12.4 so in VE SS land the auto is faster than the manual. The differences in our times is as obvious as the 60 foot time, the auto launchs much harder without wheel spin than the manual... The ESP control in the manuals prevents you from over powering the launch, yet does not help if you under power the clutch dump, so you need to be perfect... As where the auto allows the driver to just step on both pedals and let go of the brake when the light goes green. The ESP then gives the transmission the exact amount of power it can handle without wheel spin, hence a much faser 60 foot time and over all ET...) Food for thought... PS> Dont be tempted on the streets, take it to the track... Time slips are better than fines...
  11. Look honestly you can be as fast as you want... It just comes down to money... Edit> Dont listern to the auto vs manual debate, do what suits you... Your the owner, your the driver its yours to choose and enjoy...

EDIT> Forgive my scarscasim, but what are you compairing too??? There are automatic V8's out there that could not peel the skin off a 25 minute old cup of coffee. Then on the other hand you have 9 second street cars roaming round with number plates ready to smash 1000cc motorbikes like their scooters...
  13. Honestly, just buy a stock bonnet... The cost involved to do it right is huge... Not to mention the attention you will get from the popo... If your after a weight reduction, the bonnets dont save you much (dollars to performance increase)... Your better off fitting a pfc and making an extra 10hp to compensate for the weight...

  15. contact "Custom carbon" You need to buy a bonnet that has been crash tested and has DOT approval, mets all Aussie standards etc... In short your looking at a fairly expensive bonnet to do it legally, also even if 100% above board its still cop bait...
