  1. just selling some gear 40 watchers on one item with no bids yet, like everyone is waiting til the last second to big... shits me... I get 11 emails today asking questions in broken english, i dont mind questions but the answers to every single one of them is in the listing details... Like the first line of my ad is, you are bidding on blah blah and blah with no reserve... First quesitons "Whats the reserve" Second line of my auction says, this gear was purchased on the 14th Feb 2008. Second questions "How old is it" Just shits me to tears, I want to reach into the computers and smack them around a bit...

  5. Who you flying with??? Each carrier has special deals with certain car rentals... So if its Virgin check out Budget, if its Qantas check out Avis etc... Mention you flying with whom ever and ask for the best rate... They have partnerships with the airlines to give extra discounts...

  11. Yeah, thats good... I thought as he has only ever made 1 post he may not be comfortable with the forums as yet... As such he may not have realised the thread was 4 years old and he might have taken the thread as gospel... What I mean to say is: MrBiC you should make some calls and check it out again as this thread is well past its expire date in terms of valid info...
  12. The other issues I can see to someone not wanting to do it is insurance... Im not just talking about covering the car, im talking about OH&S issues and public liability...
  13. This thread is also over 4 years old... So things have changed a bit in that time...
  14. Yeah your on the right page... do your ecu (pfc is a good choice) injectors around the 550cc mark will be suitable and allow a little head room in case 250rwkw is not enough in the future do a fuel pump and a reg, no worries there as for turbo there are anumber of choices but the top two that come to mind are the 3037 or the GT30 with either the .62 or .82 rear housing If you go the GT30 id suggest going a .82 rear housing as then you have all the parts to make 300rwkw no worries (internals wont like it too long)... So with cams you will make 15-16 pounds easily by 3700-3800rpm... Thats about all you will need for 260rwkw... If you go the .63 rear housing it may only save you 200rpm, its not that bigger difference honestly... However the larger rear housing will allow for more cublic feet of air at higher rpm, so if you build your motor later on once again no need to spend more money... Oh dont forget to add a good quality electronic boost controler to your list of bits... (ie. Blitz SBC ID-III or HKS EBC etc) Edit: Also you need to decide early if your going highmount with the turbo or if you would rather stick to a low mount with minimal modification... As if you choose high mount there are a couple extra bits you will need... (ie. Manifold, custom water and oil lines, external wastegate depeding on turbo choice, new exhaust dump etc) The suggestion of a highflowed VG30 is also valid if you wish to minimize hassle/$$$ however will not allow for much more than your current requirement... As if your not happy with 216rwkw now, im sure within 6 months 260rwkw wont float your boat either and youll be reaching for 300rwkw in no time hence my suggestion of going to a GT30...
  15. LOL, I saw a skyline approaching from the rear... Then when you pulled up beside me i saw the wheels and knew it was you... It was a bit wet and dark so i was not sure if you saw me waving... Was a late night for the both of us I see...
  16. gesus you could teach them how to detail your car... then make them do it over and over again at a carwash... $$$
  17. yeah u guessed it
  18. It will probably cost you more to do it than the end sale price... Why not just get rid of both and not wasteyour time??? Not being rude, but VLT's are pretty cheap. What makes you think a non-original 2 litre version of a VLT is going to be an attractive car??? (attractive meaning get a few bucks from its sale) IE> If I were looking for a turbo VL, id be going for an original 3 litre version where insurance and the police wont give me a hard time about mod plates I mean the rb20 is not the greatest motor for torque or outright power, then you put it in a heavy chassis...
  19. Sorry I know you dont mean it to be funny... Not many workshops look around these parts so if your serious your probablly better off calling a few... See if you cant work a few weekends sweeping the floors or something??? Whats your trade atm, as in what do you do for work now???
  20. "gay clutch" Is that like the excedy ones with the pink pressure plate??
  21. Like everyone has said, not a great time to change... However if your not passionate about what you do now then there is no point in continuing with it... Just timing is your only issue, as you said loans etc and we all need money to live... Learning a trade is always a great way to build a good future, however the money you get paid now is goign to be allot less than your used to... So you may want to look into it a bit and see if its affordable to make the change for a better future today... Or wait until your a mature aged tradie (think its 25) and then you get paid more, however you will be less attractve to the trades men hiring you... (Catch 22)
