R34 Vspec Ii Defected For Carbon Fibre Bonnet In Qld
Col-GTSX replied to ZFA57's topic in Queensland
yeah fibre glass is just as illegal as full carbon... if you dont have an adr approval... bit like the cheap bike helmets they sell on ebay, no ADR sticker means no good... fact is fibre glass snaps and becomes a sharp edge when in an accident... its more dangerous that metal or full carbon fibre... the fact is the bonnet you purchased might be fine, but approval is expensive and china ebay types are not going to spend the money to make them 100% approved as such the adr approved fibre bonnets show in terms of cost to the end customer... -
$170 would be for a rather large well branded 500CCA+ battery... If you want something like what comes in a skyline stock standard (not the best but will do) just get a smaller 9 cell 350CCA sized battery... Supercheap, autobarn, autoone, aussie auto etc will have one for around the $100 mark... Also you can try a local auto electrican as they sell batterys also...

you can get a new one for less than $100...

yeah most business's are not fully operational this time of the year... next week im sure everyone will return to work, slowing my journey over the gateway again to a crawl...

LOL, when I saw the title I thought of a brown paper bag and a can of spray paint... Try; http://www.queensland-electroplating.com.au http://www.scookandsons.com.au/restoration.htm I used the mob at Arana Hills two-three months ago, expensive but the finish is show room quality...

was thinking about it now the edit has been done... and we can get away with a 6 month old helmets before they change the rules again

Sorry Noel my mistake... You made me go searching for the time slip, but then i remembered i posted it in the drag pb's section... Its been so long since doing it, it was actually 121mph... But either way thats a fast trap for such a slow ET, which was my point...

Hello all As always we come towards the part of the year to embrace family, friends and enjoy everything we have come to take for granted. Hope you are all spending time with those you love and those whom love you. Enjoy your day or two off (or holidays for the lucky) and make every minute count. Relax, enjoy great food and drinks. Be close to the pool (if you can) and give what you can to show your thoughts. Please have a merry Christmas and a safe holiday period, remember look twice, check your speed and most importantlly dont drink and drive. We will see you all again in the new year. Merry Christmas from SAU!!!

I was just thinking while reading your post that maybe we should get back to the topic at hand soon... Yeah we finished off my LS2 edit today, we had nice gains through the rev range and keep it safe... She is a bit better off for fuel now also, so the cost of the tune will pay it self back within a month or two...

Sounds familiar Dave, remember my old one ran a 131mph trap with a 13.2 sec ET

Ill have a closer look at the CF card and see if I cant find a pic there... It was all shot in RAW so unfortunatlly no preview, but ill find one just give me an hour... EDIT: I found one, but its only of the front of your car, I tried to upload it three times but it seems photobucket is broken, will try tomorrow... No worries, yeah I figured I would not be the fastest but I knew I could bake the best rubber cakes...

Cool, just be aware their changing their rules about helmets... They now require some different level of Australian Standards fron the 1st of Jan... Most of us got pulled up about it on Saturday afternoon... Its sucks too cause the helmet I took is a $1000 lid I bought for my bike only 6 months ago and its going to be useless at the drag from now on...

Yeah I know him, but it will be hard to get them for free... Bogan went quicker than most low 12's all day and night...
-
Todd, Ive pm'ed you my best time slip... Also Ive posted some images in the main QLD section... Enjoy and thanks again was heaps of fun...

Not sure why you were so happy, maybe cause you took down another RB25... Shame you could not take down the SS tho hey... Like my skid Dave??? Here is a closer look... 6500rpm dump 3rd gear, 160kph at the rear wheels burnout... We had to wait for the smoke to clear on a few runs and then i was told to tone down the burnouts... One last big one for the cameras... After this it was my last run, officials were less than impressed... Michaels rev limiter skid... This Ninja had a wild ride, one wheel til about the 180ft mark... Then he hit 3rd and it was back up on one wheel and he still did a high 12... I cleaned out the wheel arch's this morning and found about a 1cm of rubber all the way round the arch...

Hey Guys Here are a few of the pics taken by a mate of mine, I asked him to get photos of everyone but he must have miss heard me say "dont use the camera at all" Nah he did his best, but it was his first time with an DSLR and a pro unit at that (no auto mode)... My best run for the day was; 60ft - ET - MPH 2.084 - 13.578 - 103.31 Not bad for a stock SS I reckon (315rwhp - 1850kg) if anything she loved smoking the tyres... Also be sure to check out this thread Click Here and copy in the info from your time slips... Anyway here is a selection of what he took...
-
Yeah I saw that Michael... I think I have a photo or two there also for you... Was sounding insane when you did the burnout... Flames popping out like a jack in the box...

Im not going to discuss the in's or out's with anyone in this matter... I understand and i took that into account before making a statement, as I dont have trust for anyone involved yet... All I will say is that the post made did not come from a computer anywhere near the sunshine coast... Hence I dont poitn the finger at you either... Just stating the rules clearly for all on the forums, if it happens again it will be taken very seriouslly... Apart from that, have a nice cruise looks like a great day for it...

Thats true, I ran the IP on the posts this is certainly not you... Now let me make this very clear, infact larger font is needed... Who ever logs into someone elses account without their permission will be instantly banned from SAU. Your id will also be handed on to other IPB forums as a fraud. This sort of activity is low, it is shameful & most importantly its illegal. This is a once off warning to anyone who has done this or is planning to do it again. FYI, Im not going to dive into this case but if it happens again this thread is toast until the user is weeded out and banned. Not only will we ban the user but their details will be passed to the user whom account that illegally accessed as it is fraud which can carry up to an 8 year term in prision. If you dont believe a keyboard warrior can be put in prision I suggest you look into a case on BC.com from 3 years ago.
