I know allot about singstar thats my passion... Seriously its my day job... I just dont want to stump anyone with big explainations or anything too sudden... I only touched on the tip of the ice burg, unfortunatlly there is a million things to consider... But in short if people within Australia stop spending this Christmas we are looking at higher prices on everything... Heavy private exporting, ie overseas consumers buying from Australia does not strengthen our dollar... It takes billion dollar deals to put a dint in it... Like Australias Coal and Oil trade with China for example... The problem we face (which is a worst case) is that everyone within Australia stops paying back credit card debt and home mortgages etc... As when the "owed" balance of Australia economy gets higher our dollar deminishs faster than a ball sack in cold water... There are few main factors in which determine the buy & sell price of the Aussie dollar, the worst part is that the most important factor is "verbal value" in the commodities markets... Anyways my original explaination was in relation to the fuel pricing, hence why I dumbed it down a bit... Im not a lawyer or any legal advisor, however I have done training and have a certificate of qualifaction in the "Consumer Trading Practices act" and this suggestion sounds like "market share fixing" which is illegal and if it were tied back to one of Shell's competitors it would be a MASSIVE MASSIVE breach of the law and would end in a huge law suit... But yeah sounds half reasonable in theory likethe buy no fuel today idea from a year ago... Unfortunatlly no one would be game to advertise it in fear of being sued by Shell...

I mean what sort of sence of satisfaction are they planning to acheive... Their simply making them selves a target to a generation that will react stupidly and they will be left with the trauma of the situation... I got a simple solution, wrap yourself in cotton wool so your sorted and drink some red wine chill out and just worry about yourselves... damn do gooders (makes me wish that white rum ad was real like "But my fish is sick")

Yeah "Hoon" watch wont last long... Like the lady who was pointing her hair dryer at people in a school zone down the gold coast last year to try and get people to slow down... Well she copped a brick and the problem was solved... (I dont not condone brick throwing, just saying is all) Bad things come to do good people...

Sorta, I didnt explain myself very clear... But in short you can run 17" rims on a car that came out with 14's if you want... As long as the overall diameter of the tyre is no bigger than the OEM product... As there is slight difference always the DOT came up with a suitable legal variance... I stated 30mm, meaning an R34 GTT can run up to 255 without being much of a problem in terms of sticking out etc... That said however it depends on the size of the rim as the profile size will change the first number factor... As for width yes there are some loop holes as to running even wider rubber, however there are other factors that usually stop you from doing so... You cant run rubber wider than you guards, if it sticks out its illegal (hence offset of rims is so important)... Also I should point out the rubber sticking out is really down to the kindness of the officer as to whats right and whats wrong. Ive heard of a VE GTS (stock rubber) being booked by police in QLD for having rims and tyres that are aparently illegal by DOT standards. These were factory fitting rims and tyres, so even if legal cops can still put you through the hoops if they want... The legal line is quite clear in here as posted the other week...

Yeah there are many factors involved... One to remember is wen fuel first hit $1.50 the oil companys quartered their profits, so now there is some time for them to reclaim lost profits for the shareholders. You also pointed out your not sure how long it takes for the price to change as in how long it takes before their paying the cheaper price etc... As I understand it if a price rises they rise with it, like within 24 hours. So if they still have cheaper stock they can profit some cream of that. However if the price drops they drop it as fast or as slow as the other companys around them. Almost like a legal way of price fixing, to maintain the highest possible profit margins... As you said, I dont really understand the fuel pricing either I can only take what i know about retailers and try and adopt it to the fuel gaints. The report the ACCC posted about the pricing of fuel is downloadable, however is a 1300 page pdf (got time )... One thing is for sure, if we dont drop our interest rates again next month, consumer confidence will be shattered for christams and we will hit $2 a litre before the end of the year. Damn media and their consumer scare tatics using that "R" word. Also one thing to point out is the fact we are (Australia) now a very attractive target for exports to countries liek the US, as the dollar has dropped so much. So now is a good time to holiday here, buy from here and basiclly rape everything we got...

bingo... You can increase the diameter of the rim as far as you want as long as its no bigger than the original OEM delievered diameter including the tyre... The statement below is true also when refering to the above line... This is the max varience allowed when changing the profile of the tyre to suit...

A bit steep... Fark you have deep pockets... Thats a whole R35 GTR right there... I strongly disagree on many levels...Anyway back to your initial question, No I dont believe their bias. I believe they are reading scripts for the purposes of entertainment... I believe they fence sitters if anything, hence the FORD vs HOLDEN battle last week declared no winner (predictable)...

I think the main "bagging" of the Merc was the fact that your paying 300k for it and they believe your not getting 300k's value which I have to agree with... You could buy heaps of more cars for less money that are better fitted to the track and this was Merc's attempt at a track day car... Dont read into their reviews too deeply, their simply scripted statements that leave watchers to make their own minds up... Just remember its entertainment not a serious guide to motoring...
