  2. Sorry, I think $50 is very fair considering they are asking $100+ in other threads... Mind you if I could post it I would, they are just too big to post...
  3. Well variety is the spice of life... You will always miss it once its sold, but then ive felt the same everytime I buy something new...
  4. please use the events section for crusing...
  5. Id say as a guess the images we are looking at are just a start... I mean to say what actually comes out as end product will probablly look different...
  6. Yeah its highlly unlikelly anyone reading this will own one... I dont see value in that sorta price point, I could buy 3 very nice cars for that sorta money... Talk about fit for purpose, with 3 cars you could get something to suit almost everything
  7. Lets face it, you need one to race at most tracks and any helmet is better than no helmet... Get what you want... Its your head... Personally I own 4 hemets; * M2R bike helmet ($900 lid) has heaps of vents, nose guard, aerodrnamic fins, awesome graphics, so so comfortable and very tight, I used it on the bike only... * TTH open face helmet ($100 lid) got it for when i used to own a cruiser, open faced is the only way to experience a cruiser style bike with the wind in your face and the bugs in ya teeth... * OGK full face plain black helmet ($180 lid) its my spare for passengers, so no extra comforts like my M2R lid... * Sparco full face helmet no visor, with built in mic & speaker ($799 lid) was used for my stint as a navigator in targa in 2002 and 2003, also used it for the drags and QR trackdays... Yes different helmets for different applications, but as for a good first helmet for someone who wants to go to the drags and have a bit of fun and just needs one and cant just borrow one. Go and buy a simple open face unit, I found using my open faced helmet in the car quite good as it does not restrict vision like the others do, but the feeling of saftey a full face offers just makes you feel a bit more easy behind the wheel and feels safer... The sparco unit I have is the best choice but it was expensive and I have no use for the radio conection anymore, it was only needed in rally for communication between the driver and navigator as it gets very loud in purpose built rally cars with little to no exhaust... Horses for courses!!! But reading your story I changed my opinion as you can now get OGK full faced helmets for a low as $120 brand new from good bike shops... So thats what i get in your situation...
  8. Are these clippers still for sale??? Updated pics???
  9. Yeah but when i lit up the chocolate bar to smoke it, the damn thing melted... You said smoking boost was better than sex with a pretty thai boy... Instead it was messy and unplesent like sex with your mum...
  10. Yeah, ditto... Boost video... 33 GTR STYLZ
  11. I was joking about the words... But thanks

    Speed Traps

You saw it at Mango Hill... Was there again today at 8am
  13. Sounds great...
  14. I only addressed the fuel issue as it was stated to be a fuel guzzler, which they are not so I was just clearing up that generalisation... As for anything else, every car has pros and cons... If they were all the same they would only make and sell one car for everybody... The A pillars are fat cause they have air bags in them, nothing you can do to reduce side unless you remove the air bags... As for the seats I agree the leather is shit, but thats compaired to BMW or Merc's which are 2-3 times the price. You get what you pay for i guess... (I didnt get leather, I choose cloth) But I disagree that their uncomfortable, they are electronically adjustable in about 6 different ways and offer much more comfort than the skyline seats... Put it this way if the commodore was soooooo bad I would not drive one... But its very suitable for my needs, the skyline was useless for my job... There is no way the skyline could handle doing 50,000kms per year, nor could it offer me a good road side assistance if i needed help... Lets face it, I go out to central QLD, what happens if I have a problem with a mass prduced Aussie built car... Now compair that to a problem with an import... If you were faced with having to buy a new car you would look at your needs and then find something suitable, right??? We are not all robots who like or dislike the same thing... My opinion of cars has changed dramiticlly over the past 2 years... All I used to care about was going fast and it had to have greatbrakes, handle well and sound tough... Now i need a big boot, I need the ability to carry up to 4 adults if neede be and I want something really safe, still i want a bit of poke (so V8 or turbo 6) and I wanted a manual... I believe in a saying "Fit for purpose" and a skyline is great for going fast and doing skids and whatever, a commodore/falcon on the other hand is great at going shopping, towing a trailer, and a general good family car etc... The SS/GTP or V8 varity are just the same but with a bit of going fast and doing skids added... We could sit here all day and point out the flaws on a skyline, but whats the point all cars have flaws like I said above if there were a "perfect" car on the market we would all but it... If your happy with what you drive then great, im not trying to sell you another car... Was just pointing out they certainlly dont use alot of fuel...
  15. Pictures need words Josh, I dont see any obvious problems...
  16. Thats good news, when you said it had a screamer i thought what else went past the eyes of the mechanic that did the roadworthy... Just the fact that there is no longer an airbag and the headlights are series 1 units makes me wonder if it has had a front ender at some stage of its life...??? I got enough parts to make a whole skyline again, but I didnt strip it out of the donor to put it back together in its original chassis... Like your kind of thinking
  17. Ok, not quite unfair but what im saying is an r32/33 even 34 GTR would have trouble, the new 35 is a totally new kettle of fish... As for driving one, got 55k spare to buy me a new one ill let you drive mine... But in the meantime let me assure you they are at a higher standard these days than I myself used to give them credit for, as i judged a book by its cover many times... Like Andy tho i found the Falcon to be bland and boring inside, the SS and SV6 had a nice sporty interia and was much more quiet to road noise when cruising... As for the supercharged one you speak of, I can only assume you are talking about a VT (which was the only series to come out supercharged, in certain versions) and they are 1997-98 technoligy so they would be as old as the early 90's skylines in terms of technoligy. So tis a bit uynfair to compair, plus cars dont run up the back end of other cars cause their brakes are shit, its always the nut behind the wheel that causes accidents like that... Please dont change your mind because we are saying stuff to contridict your opinion, just be open minded... Of course your gonna like the flavour you drive, otherwise you would not drive it...
  18. Ditto "You amost had me, you never had me, you never had your car" Sorry, F&F quote time again... Car looks nice, few questions but Does it have a back seat or rear interia or was it bought with the cage in and the mod plate for the cage??? Hey whats down on the mod plate in terms of codes??? Cause i notice there is no drivers airbag either ands it said it was a series 3 right...??? So I assume that the mod plate is for the 2 seater mod (rollcage in other words) and for the removal of the air bag from the drivers side.
  19. Their still quite meaty, personally id machine while their off the car as you may as well before you pop them on... Better to start with a fresh canvas... So to answer your question honestlly tho, yes their fine, no you dont have to machine them but i personally would Its just standard R33 side mount thickness (roughlly 2inchs)...
  20. Never said RWD was better, just said you under estimate the technoligy that has gone into these cars in the past few years... Give one a go and tell me a early 90's GTR is still better??? An R35 GTR would be an unfair compairson...
  21. Yeah, ive played with mine a little... Stock standard a VE SS puts out 225rwkw, thats where mine starded life on a dyno dynamics... As for winning races, it always comes down to the team with the biggest budget and the most dedication and the best crew/drivers... Its never about the make of vechicle... Its eho has the best overall package on race day!!! As for being a Holden, Im no of for one/any particular car maker... I admire and dispise all on their merrits... Thanks, I try to put some detail in sometimes to help prove a point... I try hard not to offend either... Hence why i made my responce a general educational responce...
  22. had pm's for everthing (many for the airbox and brakes) and asked to hold stuff, but still no cash in my hands... BUMP
  23. The capicity of the engine does not go hand in hand with fuel consumption... The 7 litre engine in the car in question will be more efficient that most of your "jap" spec motors found in mid 90's skylines... It all comes down to technoligy, althought a push rod configuration is old school, the rest of the motor is not... Example; My old Rb25 (2.5L - 1500kgs) = 332rwkw = 250/350km per tank (98RON Only 58-60L) Average fuel consumption = 19.67 litres per 100 km or 11.96 miles to the gallon My LS2 (6.0L - 1800kgs) = 287rwkw = 480/550 per tank (91RON +10% ethnol 63-65L) Average fuel consumption = 12.43 litres per 100 km or 18.93 miles to the gallon My ZX6R (0.6L - 165kgs) = 82rwkw = 210/230 per tank (98 RON Only 14-15L) Average fuel consumption = 6.59 litres per 100kms or 35.69 miles to the gallon All are/were driven fairlly hard often... Obviouslly the SS felt slower than the skyline and the bike is faster again, but its close to the same performance level in terms of numbers/times. Big difference is the SS makes a lot more power between 1000rpm and 4000rpm as where the skyline was all top end power and the bike just revs alot... But at the end of the day all three will run a 11 second quarter mile... So when it comes to corners everything handles like shit after you have experienced a lap with Steven Johnson at the wheel of a Porche Cup car round QR... You need to remember to make more power you need, more fuel, more air and more ignition... So the capicity of the engine particually with forced induction is involved, does not matter much... As obviouslly with my example the skyline was injecting more fuel per cylinder per engine revolution and hence it made more power and used more fuel... What im trying to say is power costs fuel, a substitute for increasing fuel to create more power is increasing the capicity of the engine and adding more pistons and increasing the stroke of the pistons to increase torque which at the end of the day will add more speed/feeling of "power". (Power meaning the combination or relationship of torque, revolutions and horse power.) /End educational rant What im saying is dont judge that this car will be a fuel hungry monster, as most jap engines are the real fuel hungry monsters once modified to keep up with the subject car... As for mild modified GTR's or GTST's beating this car round the traps, I think you need to think a little harder before assuming this would be the case, as in a straight line this car will no doubt pull a 11 second ET and you need to pump the power up quite a bit for a GTR or GTST to get them into the 11's... As for corners, once again technoligy in these RWD cars is more advanced than you give credit... Mabey go for a ride in one before you judge them, I think you will be very supprised... Particually in the wet...
