  1. Hmmm... A little too easy for me to screw up... thanks any way hahahah
  2. Thanks again.. I might try that. Regards Rob
  3. Thanks mate, Is that new or second hand??? ($150-200) Also do you think that is what is causing my boost cut? Cheers Rob
  4. Hi, I have tried searching on this topic but can't seem to find the answer to my question.. I think I have a faulty AFM or one that is shorting.. Just want someone to confirm this for me.. For example, If I even touch the AFM (like press down on it) the whole engine will rev all over the place (like up and down up and down)... I have also had issues in the past where I start accelerating and as soon as boost climb's it would cut the fuel flowing to the engine (like boost cut). Also just driving and not even on boost and the engine was cutting in and out (only ever happened once)... I'm thinking all these symptom's are relating to the AFM.... Do you think a clean will fix this? Regards Ps. I have FMIC, Air filter, Boost (set to 8-9psi not over) & catch can.
  5. It's just pressure... Just like you have in your tyres... eg. they run around 35 psi... (amount of air squuzed into a certin object or for a turbo the amount of air is being pushed through the engine).
  6. Hi, What sort of rwkw will the new 350Z put down???? Also how heavy is it? Mr350Z do you know? Regards Rob
  7. Thanks Steve & Benm, That is really good info.... Yeah my power goals aren't really that high.. Not looking for more than 200 rwkw's... SAFC is something I would buy... Regards Rob
  8. HI There, If a fuel pump is on it's last legs what are some tell tail signs that it needs replacing? Could one be that when I turn the boost up (to say 11 psi) and floor it a sudden fuel cut comes in.... like all power stops, cause when I turn the boost down to 9psi it works fine... Also when I touch the accelerator lightly I can here a high pitch noise from the back of the car.. (and also when cruising at 60 I can also here it then). So that said, if it is my fuel pump should I just replace the unit with a new factory Nissan one or buy a second hand GTR or what?? ( I have an R33 gts-t with FMIC, Air, boost - 163 rwkw's) Are they just a simple replacement or do they need a lot of work to get in? Thanks for the advice. Rob
  9. And another shot
  10. I personally love the way they stick out the side.... Makes a gts-t look so much better.. Took some pic's as I ended up buying them. Rob
  11. Hi There, I have a questiong regarding new Mag's. I have been looking at getting some R33 GTR mags to fit on my R33 gts-t serII. Has anyone else done this and how do they look (pic's would be good). Also is $2K a good price for immaculate R33 GTR mags (17" with 235x45 front & 255x40 Rear new tyres) Thanks Rob
  12. Think about it... 2 sec's is a long time especially when your maxing 4th gear..... If your in your Vtec and are racing a gts-t that is 2 sec's in front of you, it will look like they are a real long way away... Cheers Rob
  13. Hi There, Currently I have a fairly stock R33 gts-t, mods: Boost - 9psi K&N pod Front Mount I/C Oil/Air seperator Last run on a dyno gave me 164 rwkw's. I'm looking at getting an exhaust... Firstly what is an expected increase in kw's (roughly)from fitting a new exhaust system? Secondly I do not want a noisy exhaust (just a nice note), does this mean I go for 2.75" or a 3" pipe? Thirdly, It seems I can only afford an Cat back system (for now), what type of power will I get exrta from a front pipe and dump? Thanks for your help. Ps. What does everyone think of the 2nd hand jap exhaust's?
  14. Quick question, Does it make that much of a difference to the handling if you fit just lowered springs on a stock R33??? (say half an inch). Cheers
  15. You'll find the external temp-sensor just under the horn. At the very front of the car (in the middle). It's black and is about 3-4 cm's long... Hope that helps. (I had to re-locate mine as I installed an FMIC). Cheers Rob
  16. Hi There, Not too sure if this is the same problem as what I had.. I had a bleed valve system (two bleed valves) running around 8.5 psi (some times I put it up to 10psi). It has been in there for well over a year and never had any spiking or problems. Until one day after a drive (30K's or so) after sitting at lights took off (foot flat) and as soon as the boost started climbing all power would just stop... like the speed limiter stoping petrol going in... Only did it when boosting, I could do light acceleration but as soon as I floored it, a massive jolt woulld happen cause the engine cut out... Anyonw know what that is? I turned the boost down slightly to 8 and it was fine (ohh boost gauge is accurate... checked). I have also noticed recently at 8 psi and about 4500 rpm on wards the boost feels a little jerky like not smooth.. (never done that before until after the power loss). cheers Rob ps. mods - air filter, fmic & boost everything else is stock.
  17. Thats great. thanks again guys. I'm off to by some sway bars..... Will let you know the results (in a couple of weeks). Cheers Rob
  18. Thanks for the reply's. So that said, I want to upgrade my sway bar but do I just get the rear done or the front or both? Also anyone know a good thickness to get? Hey Donnie, Hmm, what can I say take, the strut brace back if it made no difference. I certainly felt an improvement... Cheers Rob
  19. Hi there, I trying to find some info on upgrading the sway bars in the R33 gts-t.. Has anyone actually upgraded their sway bars in a Skyline (and still has stock suspension)? I don't really want to read what Whitline say, I want to here it from a skyline owner.. Do they really reduce body roll? Are there any negatives about getting a sway bar upgraded (apart from more wear on tyres etc..). Thanks for the advice. Cheers Rob
  20. I know it's illegal if you have it going to atmo. but not too sure about plumb back..
  21. They are illegal...... With or with out the little filter, if it vents to atmo. it's illegal. Any ways, if you are getting oil in the I/C pipes from the rocker covers spilling oil and fit an Catch can, you would get a performance gain. If you don't have much oil then the you would not notice anything. I my self had oil in the I/C pipes and recently fitted an oil/air seperator, made a big difference (only running about 9psi)... My 2 cent's worth. Cheers Rob
  22. sorry... Just did then.
  23. 164 rwkw's for my R33 gts-t Standard exhaust, K&N filter, 8.5 psi, small front mount and also had a oil/air separator fitted (bit of oil in the pipes).. Very happy with that result, as this time last year I onlyt got 130 (with boost only).. Cheers Rob
  24. Hi again, Just spoke with a mechanic and he seems to be telling me it's turbo seal's that have gone. Is ther eany way of confirming which it is? I have found a oil/air separator for $95.00 with everything but don't know if it's worth it now.
  25. I've found some oil called Motul synthetic gear box oil... Anyone heard of this, it's about $120 for 4 ltrs...
