Just after some advice ive become stuck and with all the local places shut and everyone busy this time of year i need some sudjestions.
I have a HKS EVC6, (not the coloured version) ive been running it for almost 12 months now but a few months back after i gave it a day of good flogging it started to lose peak boost, it has been set on high boost @ 21psi and low @ 16psi since ive had the controller, during the day of giving it some @ power play earlier this year it dropped to around 18-19psi wouldnt go higher, didnt think much of it, its been sitting in the shed since, but after trying a few things ive gone away from the swing type and going to the poppet type to see if it would make a difference, with all the correct hoses and fittings done up its %100 correct in how its hooked up. (ive been through this with alot of people)
(my setup is a rb25, garret 3076 highmount and a turbosmart hyper gate 45, turbosmart raceport bov and some of the other mods to go with it.)
now @ the setting on the poppet type i cant seem to control boost with the gain on the HKS evc i can turn it up to 199% or 1% and it makes no difference but the poppet setting wont stop the boost @ 21psi it just keeps going up i stop when it hits above 21 obviously =P, likewise with the swing type though the swing type it stops @ 19-20 just wont hit 21.
with the controller turned off it runs 14psi witch is what the spring is inside the gate and no issues there.
ive replaced every hose with braided lines to the gate and most of the vacume hoses also, ive checked for leaks and i cant seem to find anything, ive read the hks manual that many times its not funny just incase im missing something.
now the stupid thing is when i run 16psi it hits it everytime (swing type), just @ the higher boost range it just doesnt like it.
the car runs like a dream no issues what so ever just wont hit that sweet spot @ 21psi.
now ive learnt a heap about the car since ive done it, but im really stuck to what it could be, any sudjestions id be happy to take because im out of ideas.
could it be a leak? or could it be the controller or could it be the car trying to tell me to run 30psi? lol
