Its long overdue, I've put it off for long enough, but very soon we will be undergoing a massive update of the site to Invision 4. Invision is who we use for the forums and main components of SAU. Some addons are 3rd party (timeslips, spy, trader ratings, etc). The version of Invision we're using is no longer supported at all and the few bugs I've raised with them lately have not been fixed. I've been testing the process of upgrading on an external development server and it is very solid but also seriously time consuming with the latest test update of BASE forums functionality taking several hours. The soft date for initiating the update is this Friday at around 7pm. Things you need to know; Things will be a little different when you first log on after the update. The update is worth it with many very positive features being added. We'll be starting with a single theme initially but will be settling on a second (dark) theme in the weeks following the update. There will be hiccups! We request that you stay patient and log your bugs and problems in this thread. Supporter options (subscriptions) will be disabled from mid week (Wednesday) and will likely be the last feature to be updated (as we will be migrating subscriptions to a new system to work with Invision 4.) Great outcome on the bonnet, Joni Boi. Looks unreal! A nice clear coat (or 10) will look great and keep it protected. Following what Joni Boi did on the previous page you can't go wrong. Keep in mind that he was able to sand back a lot but not down to the carbon itself. If you do go to far then you'll need to seal it quickly. If you dont then a polish up will get it looking better but should only be considered a short term solution until you can get a coat (or few) of clear on it. Make sure you create a thread and post lots of pics!

Let me start by saying that I'm not a big SUV fan. We're about to buy ourselves one though and after many mental dialogues between my two 'sides' I can justify it because we're going to need 4WD to go to some camping joints we go to, we need a bit of weight for what we sometimes tow AND we need 7 seats because Bec regularly has both kids and some of their friends to drive around. Ie, it will be used. Porsche SUV's look a little nice but kinda weird me out. Mercedes and BMW SUV's seem to be a status thing most of the time. I'd assume that they rarely get taken off road or tested in any way. Then, theres the $700k Bentley Bentayga. I saw one in traffic the other day, she's not a pretty thing thats for sure. Today I thought I'd look it up. $700k. SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS! AND, according to CarsGuide you can opt for a $225k CLOCK! How can a car that big only have 6 airbags? Is it just me that thinks this car is an obscene two-fingered salute to anybody who has a 'normal' family car? Buy it here.
