World's Fastest Street Legal Car...
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Eug's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I dont have a background in cars, but I do know how much it costs to electrosil and bullet proof a single 400cc engine. If you set out with 100k to make a nice well balanced touring touring car and based it on a Skyline, I daresay that you would end up with something pretty special. Thats not to say it would buy you a whole lot -

Skyline R33 Series 2, Any Good?

Unbiased opinion - I paid 20k for a stock December 97" S2 gtst 3 months ago. It was completely unmodified and had 58K on the clock. Dealer was a mate www.northshoreprestige.com.au and threw in an HKS Priest 3" Catback and a Blitz Pod. Not sure about powah as its not seen a dyno yet, but as is its an awesome car and blows the doors off my mates VS SS Commodore Shit - What was that about asking about guns at an NRA meeting -

I hate to say it but my car does the same thing. Its an intermittent ticking on idle that dissappears around 12-1300 rpm. It absolutely shits me to tears and is not my thrust bearing as it is also making noises. So as long as i keep my foot on the clutch and have the engine 300rpm above idle everything sounds good.

Make that 41 people who are interested! My 33 S2 was debadged when I bought it 3 months ago and I am really keen to get some more detail happening.
-
Yeah what happened??? I have a S2 33GTS and the gts25t badge on the back is falling off. I know heaps of ppl who would be keen for these. Was the initial idea to get a metal badge made up or just a sticker? I reckon a metal badge would rock, but it would be heaps east to get a sticker made up.

Those Remote Control Alarms And Gsm Alarms
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Angus Smart's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Mate go and see Leon at WWW.SECURITYINMOTION.COM.AU. He fits Autowatch systems which are made in South Africa, undoutably the most paranoid nation in world. 5 year parts and service warranty so if you get stuck you got a life line. I got a 446LRi system with built in turbo timer and window rollup. Dont touch that Ebay shit, get it done properly once. Then you dont have to worry about it. -
Hey does anyone know if the original SAFC1 is any good? I am trying to lean out my S2 R33 GTST as its running quite rich

Is it complete with all wiring? I am keen to buy PM sent -
HOw about Kendall Racing oil? It is made from pure Pensylvanian Crude and is one of the best oils around. There is actually a warning on the packaging stating that it must not be used to run an engine in as the engine wont run in due to the oil having such good lubricating properties.
-
Yep, Autowatch are great. I have a 446lri, which was installed by Leon from www.securityinmotion.com.au. You can tell by the quality of his work that he is a pro. Try stealing my car.. Now the sensetivity is turned up a bit u cant brush past the car without gettin a nice reminter to not touch the painwork ;-)
-
When I bought my car, a mate recommended that I call Leon from www.securityinmotion.com.au He installed an Autowatch 446lri (read: South African, very paranoid) with built in turbo timer, shock sensor and remote boot release. He is an absolute champion so go see him and get hooked up. Cheers Christian.
-
Dude, Look no further than Leon from www.securityinmotion.com.au. He sells top of the line South African (read paranoid) Alarm systems and puts a 5 year warranty on his work. I am really glad that I paid for a professionally installed system. Give him a go cause he is an absolute champion. Cheers Christian.

Hey Mate, I have a S2 R33 GTS25T with a 3" catback, a pod + Boost solenoid mod "http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42895&hl=" Check this out - its an awesome mod for stock boost settings- I am looking for my next mod, but dont particularly want to go FMIC first. Looks like 3" hiflow cat and Dump pipe is going to be next. How much did the dump pipe cost you and what type did u choose? I am considering a split type pipe. Cheers, Christian.

Yep - I had the same sort of problem. Think I have solved part of it anyway. I picked up my mint S2 R33 25T 2 months ago and put in my first tank of fuel... Needle read full for about 120 kays then it jumped to empty. I shat myself cause I thought it had used a full tank in 120kays!! My mechanic replaced the sender unit in the fuel tank and this helped. The sender unit was half of the problem as it was stuffed. The guage still fluctuates a bit, so the next thing im looking at is the actual guage in the dash. I reckon it sticks. I have seen it jump from full to a quater in the space of seconds while I have been driving (with a new known good and tested sender unit in place)- SO... Out goes the instrument cluster ands in goes the 320kph nismo dash with much attention being paid to the fuel guage!! ;-) Hope this helps u guys! Cheers, Chris.

We have all heard the story about the dude who picks up what he thought was a really hot chick at the night club, who turns out to be... Anyway I digress. Im new to skylines, had my R33 gtst for about 2 months now, and I know its off topic but this mongrel/hybrid/??? turbo that comes stuck to a S2 R33 25t, is it worth hiflowing, or would it be best to start from scratch? Also what is exactly involved in doing a high flow?
-
So I guess id be correct in saying it will maek a really good sinker for fishing... What do ya reckon about 2530 or 2540 HKS turbos? From what I hear ppl r having good performance while still maintaining economy with these units. I can see this becomming quite expensive~!
-
Cool, thanks for that mate - I reckon ill do supporting mods before I start trying to blow my turbo anyways... Does anyone know what brand/type the stock turbo in an S2 R33 gtst or is it just generic nissan>? Sorry about all the noob questions, but I am trying to build the rig into a very fast reliable touring car as opposed to making it a 10 second bullet. Cheers, Chris
-
Yeah, I have been trying to find out for defeinite what turbo my S2 '25T has in it. I have heard people say that they have the nylon compressor wheel etc.. Is this true for sure? If so is this a bad thing, and should I be careful running more boost through it... that 2530 is beginning to look very nice ;-)
-
I have the same car. Were those safe boost levels with a stock S2 intercooler? Cheers, Christian.
-
Yeah I got a stock manual S2 R33 gtst with pod filter and cat back HKS 3". I drive 50/50 pretty enthusiastically/cruising and im lucky to see 240-300kms to about 55-60 litres. Would a SAFC help to reduce fuel consumption? What other mods could reduce usage as I am spending S**T loads on fuel atm.

BTW I could prolly bring a few otha mates with - Assorted R33's, R32's etc from the Northern Beaches area
