Is Water/methanol Spray Better Than Fmic?
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Taso84's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This is a really dumb question, but doesn't water make metal rust? -
When I bought my car it had a massive Blitz pod filter installed. (Stock S2 R33 + HKS Catback). Today I swapped the POD for a factory airbox and snorkel with generic filter. I have noticed an increase in power, the engine runs a lot smoother and sounds way better. The Blitz pod didn't do much in the way of filtration, should I worry about any damage to the engine from any particles it may have ingested?

I mean, do you sit down one day and say to yourself, "Gee I hate the world, so I am going to become a parking inspector??". These guys must be the worst kind of EMO's ever! I just dont get it. Parking inspectors are getting abused, having rotten fruit and eggs thrown at them and they still keep on with it. I say KICK THEM IN THE FACE!!!
-
Exactly. A relaive of mine got a ticket for parking in her own driveway. Get lawyerd up and take them to court. You would win hands down and the rangers would have to pay all legal costs and also lost wages. It is ridiculous what they get away with and its time to give it back to them. I have connections to a very prominent Sydney legal firm if you need any contacts. Jesus christ, giving people a parking ticket at the scene of an accident, now that has to be a new low! Get Current Affair involved
-
There are 2 laws here. 1) is the fact that you are not allowed to leave the scene of an accident (Police, Government of Australia, insurance company regulations etc.) 2. You cannot park in a no parking zone (Council rangers who would give your grandmother a parking ticket). I say get a good lawyer, take the pricks to court and sue them for all costs including lost wages. I can PM you the details for a very good lawyer in Sydney if you like...

S2 R33 Gtst Coupe Front Bar
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Chris_R33GTSt's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I believe at some point in time, my car kissed a gutter in Japan, and was very poorly repaired. EG; Skiaflex was used to *Glue* the pieces of front lip back on to the bar and then resprayed. I had it plastic welded back together, but even plastic welding didn't give it the strength that I was looking for, so I have now wasted $400 that I could have put to a more practical use. My Type M Lip is now so f**d that It could never be repaired. As I see it: Option 1: is to buy a new lip from Nissan (Expensive but gaurenteed result) or Option 2: Find the best fibreglass bar I can find and chance it with that. Where can I find some good body kit parts from in Sydney? -

S2 R33 Gtst Coupe Front Bar
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Chris_R33GTSt's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Hi Cliff, I paid $400 for a plastic welder to weld it all up, but on light impact, it fell apart along the original cracks. It was a waste of money I would say. I am considering going a new front bar completely at the monent, but I want to get something that is half decent and wont fall apart. I am trying to work out whether I should get a new front bar, or just the lip. Can people with S2 R33 gtst's post up what they have done in this situation? Please help as I am getting sick of driving around a car that is constantly broken visually. -
Hey all, I have a 97 R33 GTSt Coupe and recently had the front lip plastic welded up and resprayed due to the fact that is was f**ed when i got it (Cost me $400). Driving out of a driveway in a heavy rain storm, it tapped on the curb and disentegrated. Car is STD ride height and I'm not an idiot (most of the time). I have looked around but haven't had much luck finding a company who can supply a well made good quality front bar or lip in Sydney. What do you guys use on your S2 GTST coupes? I dont want some piece of crap 3rd hand copy bar hanging off my car... Where can I go to get some quality?

Do you have any sort of a/f ratio computer or after market engine management?

Skyline R33 Vs Toyota Chaser
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Sepp's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Toyata Chasers are a really good car. I have test driven a few. I am going to say Skylines are better, as I have a quite mint late 97' R33 GTST manual sitting in my garage and I drive it every day. I even look foward to getting up every morning to go to work just for the drive. It is better, cause it is sitting in my garage -

We should organise a north shore meet up. I have been meaning to sign up to SAU NSW for about 6 months now! BTW nice work on getting in first!!
-
So do you guys all live around teh north shore?
-
Yeah there has been lots of this crap around the Northern Beaches/ North Shore. It is getting worse too. Mate of mine got jumped outside Mona Vale hotel, one of the guys held him by the hair and the other dude layed into him. He was literally everyones best mate and had no bad bones in his whole body. He got ko'ed and ends up getting a metal plate in his head from a broken eye socket. We know who did it, and this guy now has eyes in the back of his head. Mike you will find out who these guys are eventually and then it is up to you to either go to the cops or PM a few of us North Shore/ Beaches guys and do some vigilante justice

Gt2871 Based Hi-flow Into Rb25
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Dale FZ1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nice work Dale, I am looking to do the same sort of upgrade to my S2 R33. Midrange punch and reliability over big power. Now that you have it sorted how would you rate it over the stock turbo? I am very interested as to how the boost comes on and how low in the rev range it starts building? (on the road not the dyno sheet) -
Loss Of Power! Please Help
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Sepp's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey dude, I have the same problem, it is called never enough power. You get used to it. If it is making strange sucking/whistling noises it would pay to get your turbo gaskets checked out as this could rob you of power. -
Im a green P plater. Today I got some old guy trying to drag race me (must have been 30ish) in a clapped out VT commodore. The front was taped/cable tied on, it had un-repaired accident damage and the guy looked like an utter bogan. Every set of traffic lights for about 10 minutes he was showing me how fast his commodore could go. Where is the fairness there? I have a fairly stock, quiet R33 Gtst and I cop more negative attention than dickheads like this. I was driving off boost as i do 90% of the time but the fact that there was a skyline next to him meant that he *HAD to show off his baby V8 supercar. I cant count on my hands and feet how many guys like this try to gee me up and drive like utter wankers every day and how many of them have P plates on them? NONE. When the 4WD debate was on a few years ago, I rang up Alan Jones and gave him a piece of his mind. I did about 100 hours of supervised learning an an 80 series manual diesel landcruiser. (3-4 years ago) and ended up getting my license in it. I agreed that you should have a truck licence to drive a car over 2 tonnes, that 4WD's not registered in rural areas should get stung etc. I actually got flamed for being a menace to society. The media does not care about the truth or facts of any kind. I once heard a saying that 68% of all statics are made up on the spot. How true is that? I blame the media over the government because they will publicise anything that hits a nerve and sells stories. So at the end of the day we can thank the greedy media for this current bout of crap laws.

How To Diagnose A Leaky Bov.
Chris_R33GTSt replied to Ryanrb25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I am not sure if this is the sound of my BOV leaking but i get a really ghey sound, kind of like a bad vacuum cleaner when my car is on boost. When I blocked off my bov so I could be fully sick and dose it up, the sound disappeared :sorcerer: Is there a quick fix to stop the factory bov leaking cause as Ryan stated the search button sucks hairy scrotum BTW: I had my bov blocked off for approximately half a day before i was completely over being a cool dude... -
Cheers mate! Wonder if SAU could use GOOGLE as a reference search engine like u see on other sites, cause I searched for "Rear seat removal" and jsut about every co and came up with nothing...
-
Hi everyone. I have taken a look under the carpet in my car and found what can only be described as sphagetti bolognaise of cabling. It looks like a dodgy stereo/av install with more shit thrown in for good luck. I plan to pull the seats, centre console, carpet etc out and rewire the stereo + diagnose what the rest of the mess is and install some proper stereo gear at the same time. I am stuck on the back seat (S2 R33 gtst). I have tried searching but could not find anything useful. Can anyone who has removed their back seat please tell me how to go about this.. I have tried doing the bolts at the rear passenger footwell, as well as trying to locate any more bolts, clips... anything really. It just don't want to come out!!!!
