MSN is for the loose. I am so over connectivity issues and all that shit. I have installed Trillian and now have my old ICQ account as backup. Trillian also dosent crash my pc and uses 1/4 of the ram that Live Messenger uses. (I have 2GB). It is funny to see msn eat shit while I am on IRC/ICQ.

Another One Bites The Dust

The dude was half way up the last section of hill, about 200m before the traffic lights. I would hazard a guess that this was another Initial D fan trying to be Takumi. It is sad to see how many Skylines are getting written off at the moment, just on the North Shore in Sydney. I bought my Skyline because its got major potential and has the balls to tow my bike trailer. Not many other sports cars could do that. Now I don't know about you guys, but there is something about a wet road in a heavy rain storm at 1am, driving a high powered RWD car that limits my speed to the point where I wont become another fatality. -
Driving back from Bathurst this morning about 1am, eastbound on Warringah Rd at the Roseville bridge (Forrestville, Sydney) we came past a Silver S2 R33 GTSt with 3 spoke chrome mags that had spun out and collected the concrete barrier and deposited half of its front end on the road. There were ambos at the scene and about 3-4 cop cars with cops everywhere. Not sure if the driver was okay or not, as we didnt feel like stopping and talking to about 20 cops... Looks like a case of driver error as there was no one else on the road at the time.

I was speaking to Primordial a few weeks ago about his Apexi Turbo (model AX75F82 P25 turbo) he said it is similar in size to a 2535 but has a MASSIVE mid range punch. I would say that on a track, response and mid range power was going to be much more important than say 300KW @ 9000rpm.

Question For Built Engine Guys
Chris_R33GTSt replied to 240gtr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Do all forged pistons get piston slap when warming up, or is that just in the tolerances when the engine is being rebuilt? -
I will go two badges thanks

Anybody Used The Fmic With Same Sided Entry And Exit?
Chris_R33GTSt replied to benl1981's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It would be completely useless if it didn't have the separator plate but then again, it wouldn't be the first time we saw something useless on eBay -

I could see another benefit with that particular Ebay intercooler is that it wouldn't completely block the radiator. But would it provide decent cooling or is it not worth it? -
If you didn't have tools in your car that must have been an embarrassing drive home!!

Raid0 is awesome until it goes POP!! Then its not awesome Then again if you back up all ur stuff who cares anyway

Spend a bit of money on a better CPU cooler and overclock the crap out of your CPU. You can get up to a 20-30% performance increase. For the cost of a $60 heat sink Then go and spend $10000's on your car

If you pick up any current generation SATA2 7200RPM 16MB cache drive you should be fine. Make sure that it has perpendicular recording as well. The Seagate 7200.10 series drives are the most advanced and reliable on the market at the moment. A Raptor is a 10,000PRM enterprise class drive. They have an extremely faster seek time and you will notice a difference in load times between a Raptor and any other drive. The only faster drives on the market are 15,000RPM enterprise hard drives and these only come in SAS and Fibre Channel and are also very noisy. You will also have to take a look at your video card. Vista needs to have a DirectX9.0C Shader Model 3.0 compliant video card to use Aero. This means at least a 6 series Nvidia Geforce or an X1000 series AMD/ATI Radeon.

I work in the IT Department at a bleeding edge software developer, and we are currently evalutaing Vista to roll it out to all of our Software engineers in the Sydney Technology Centre. I have had just about every version available (Ultimate, Business and Enterprise) running on machines ranging from an AGP 3.0Ghz P4 with 1 gig of ram and an ATI X1600 Pro video card to a Core Duo E6400 machine with 7950GT video and 2 gigs of DDR667 ram. Vista runs very nicely on the P4, but adding even 512MB more ram makes a massive difference. Also adding a high performance hard drive (eg 7200.10 seagate or even raptor) also makes a great difference. Running on an old 2mb cache 7200rpm drive it was a bit slow loading. Interesting point was that on the Core Duo machine, Vista FLEW and actually ran faster than XP on the same computer. I would sum this up as Vista having much better multi threaded performance on a machine with multiple CPU's. So it will run really well on any dual core machine. Here is an flow chart to help you decide if you need to upgrade: http://www.bbspot.com/Images/News_Features...e_flowchart.pdf BTW Vista is awesome but just like XP dont screw around with the home versions. Buy at least Business or Ultimate. U can pick Ultimate OEM up for $300 which is a great price.

At least we arn't talking about upgrading to Apple Mac

Aero looks awesome but Linux is fighting back and showing some elsupremo eye candy , Im going to try and get Beryl up and running on my Xeon linux box over the weekend cause it looks SCHWEET. As for Vista, It certainly likes more ram than XP and needs shitloads more storage space but should run very nicely on an AMD 4000+. Go the 64bit version for sure!!!

HAHA! I am currently trying to squeeze 4.0ghz out of it (setting up watercooling). Also putting another 1TB of storage in. Unfortunately the Skyline comes first as its going off the road in 4 months to get pumped up on steroids Vista runs quite nicely as long as you have LOTS of memory and a decent DirectX9C video card. (Mine is VERY overclocked) When it melts ill buy a new system

Fmic Install Causing Problems.
Chris_R33GTSt replied to N13Astra's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sounds like the ECU is hitting R&R (Rich and Retard) due to too much air flow through the AFM. You need supporting mods to be able to run that much boost and even then 14psi is the max that you should EVER run through the stock turbo. -
Yeah I'm going to buy Ultimate 32bit OEM this paycheck. Its about $300 on www.auspcmarket.com.au I got a 3.9ghz P4 2 gigs of ram, 6800 Ultra 500gb sata 2 storage. At work I tested it on 3ghz P4's with 6600gt's and 1.5gb's of ram.

I have fit 4 6 foot tall blokes in my 33 coupe. Everyone was comfortable... Much bigger than say an S13 Silvia, now try fitting the same 4 blokes into one of those and the guys in the back have to cross their legs literally

An oil cooler is very high on my list of mods (which will all happen when the car is off the road this June for 2 months). Only question is that it adds extra complexity and I would like to try and make it as bulletproof as possible. Does anyone here run an over sized sump with cooling fins? I reckon the extra oil capacity along with the fact that there are no oil lines to fail has to be a good thing...

" Sydneykid " Pros And Cons
Chris_R33GTSt replied to felixy69's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Thank you for your feedback mate. I will review this and add it to my new spiritual guidance plan. I was trying to make a point of saying that a lot of the comments here should be kept off an open forum. I tried to use comparisons that people could empathise with. Im sorry if you misunderstood the point that I was trying to make. -
Very interesting indeed! I just tried a search and came up with nothing. Maybe I'm just shit at doing searches...

Haha yeah thats a good call But seriously I want to do this, but have to be careful as I'm a poor MCSE (Microsoft) student who works full time thrashing servers and fixing PEBKAC errors. So i don't want to waste money. I got the mad old ex race mechanic to help with the conversion just want to make sure I don't spend my money twice
