lol......... I said that to the RTA guy at Carrington... he had a good chuckle.. if it wasn't for the cranky ass police officer I would of only got the power steer leak as my pod is COMPLETELY enclosed with a cold air pipe running from the front bar. Apparantly this is still a shady area...... although I did point out (nicely and not sarcastic etc) that the XR8 cop cars are running an enclosed pod system.. the police officer quickly changed the subject Meh.... we wanted to see the ship and I haven't been to teh foreshore in many years (well at night anyways) and now I remember why! Think only myself, zoomer (MX-5), Krystle, Lucas (Sunny) were sent.. although there was another 33 at Carrington with custom plates ---qatar or something......

Seriously don't even contemplate it. If you can't afford 98 ron then you can't afford to maintain the vehicle and its associated running costs. i.e ... many years ago before 98 was available I owned my first import a S13 CA18DET. 3 weeks on 95 was all it took to do the head in... you could hear the detonation.... I was 18ish (I think) and didn't even think about throwing octane booster in the tank at the time. If you must run the car on *shudders* 91 or 95 (better) then see if you borrow a knock monitor off someone to monitor the detonation.... also keep a light throttle and out of boost where possible...... If you can hear it pinging constantly then its only a matter of time before the rebuild fairy will be coming to visit.....

I was one of the unlucky ones I have to say the double standards of one person being defected, one being warned & one being passed for the exact same modification is a little .... hmmm.... shall we say.... FOOKED UP! Last night it all depended on the police officer that you got My car is modified and is almost finished... I am booked in for the EPA test at Botany and have been for a few weeks now so I can get engineered. However this wouldn't of helped last night! A friend of mine with a CA18DET powered Sunny is completely engineereed and yet still received 10 defects, couple hundred in fines with a few points thrown on top. An example of one of his defects was: "brakes contaminated" - wtf? We are still trying to work that one out! Anyways thanks to my wonderful female persuasion (well really just a nice RTA guy) I ended up with 2 defects (power steer leak and induction system) as well as a note that all mods to be certified. I only require a part inspection blue slip to clear the car. Meh....you win some, you lose some...... BTW - Thanks Dave for the rims/MT's I picked up!

Is There A Market For Dr30rs Skylines?
msnismo replied to kitamijin's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Definitely a niche market.. I have been searching for a DR30 RSX for a while..... found a couple but in really poor condition (structually rusted out!) -
Could be the AAC not going to 100% on startup for cold start idle and staying at the 30% ???? Or is it the other way round???? Damn financial year end messing my brain up Meh either way.... definitely check the AAC valve... I had this problem... car idled fine just took a couple of goes to keep it running in the morning! *edit* we also found that the ignition switch was worn - if it takes a while to crank over too, check the voltage on it. I originally thought my issue was fuel on cold start (aftermarket ecu) ended up being 2 problems - ignition switch dropping current resulting in excessive cranking before firing and then the AAC being dodgy and not opening all the way for cold start and causing the stalling issue after a second or two.

Accomodation For The Sau Official Track Day 8th July 2007

No worries, just shoot me a PM once the payment has been made -
I have one in mine.... been in for around 15,000km ( I do on average 1000km per week) Mine settled down to a normal h/d full face clutch in around two weeks. Although I have never had a standard clutch as the one that died was an exedy full face h/d which couldn't hold the power. Not sure what the comparison to a stock clutch is? Currently running 262 rwkw.... will be 300rwkw by the end of next week so Il see how it goes then! Anthony (GLTOOY) is running 300rwkw + (up to 350) on the same clutch with no issues thus far - well none that he has menitoned anyways! They last longer if you don't ride them at all... ie don't make it shudder (reverse always does in mine no matter what) ! My last one (S13 - 250rwkw) lasted around 2 years with a fair bit of abuse from an ex BF that couldn't quite drive it properly!

Spotted Zilch in teh mighty Festiva at Asquith this morning
-
Yeah I heard he was going to sell it as they bought a house... guess he managed a way around it
-
lol.... very true... and I agree it has to stop buuuuut Steve is going to be real upset if he gets pulled over... we both have firearms license's sooo the cops will pull the rego if driving behind and the firearms license comes up too.. Doesn't look good when they are chasing a white subaru RX wagon for an armed hold up ! Think I better warn him.....just in case!
