  1. Last time I used traffic plates was bout 7 years ago on a fresh import... I was instructed it had to be mounted on the car by RTA etc... guess times have changed. With the letter of intent, if its not required why are we asked for it if pulled over? Happened to myself not more than 5 months ago getting a friends car ready for 1st rego after being modified and engineered - police officer asked for the letter and all associated paperwork to support why we where driving an unregistered vehicle at that location. (still had old plates as only off the rd for 3 & a bit months) I rang the RTA & ask if it was still required and was told it was... although having said that, I have called the RTA on different matters and received 3 different answers to the same question!
  2. Corinne.... whats happening with the refunds? I haven't gotten an email or anything yet
  3. In... pending motorbike breakdowns and what not Saturdays are better but can always be on the Friday!
  4. You can drive it to a point of repair via the most direct route. Must have documents on you to support this (i.e paperwork for rego or defects) and a letter of intent which is dated and the time recorded as well as the route you plan to take. One of the central coast guys was pulled over driving to the rta to pay his rego (unregistered by a week or so) and was pulled over. He had a letter of intent ( including the route he was taking) and all his paperwork - they said if he didn't have the letter of intent then he was a goner! Otherwise grab a permit from the RTA (as legend01 advised) to drive the unregistered/defected vehicle - after all this they prolly won't even look at you sideways... but better safe than sorry! Edit - oh yeah don't forget "traffic" if you have no plates - on cardboard or whateva moounted where the numberplate would be.
  5. Yep that's my front bar - its extremely thick at the bottom ... you can scrape it and bump it n stuff and only the paint cracks! Its coming off to be repaired seeing the trolley jack collapsed and made all the paint crack when it hit the deck Il see if there are any other markings on it whilst its off............ Jun.. Nismo... tis all good!
  6. Will have a look again at mine..... there is a nismo stamp on mine and it looks identical... unless some lil shmuck has done it!
  7. Front bar is either a Nismo 400R or a UAS Copy... I have the same bar (Nismo). As others have said ..... Series 1 headlights and bonnet etc... Series 2 wing, interior and engine (coil setup). Unless the series 2 wing has been put on a S1 - pics of interior or ignitor (or lack of) will determine. Technically no such thing as a 1.5 but it's commonly referred to as such... 93 & 94 are series 1 ..... 95 is a bitser but still a S1... 96-98 are series 2
  8. Spotted a white R32 parked opposite maccas at Asquith... no rear plate..
  9. Spotted Chubbs & Jon on Saturday and a few other lines that didn't wave how can you miss 3 lines in a row ... also spotted a black S2 R33 on the F3 and at Gosford - two chicks and big ass white graphic stuff up the sides..
  10. Check my sig.... Slide Highflow FTW! And I am not even running full boost till I get the computer system in... Boost controller is a matter of preference.. I love the G-reddy E-01 in my car... doesn't spike and is completely stable.. On the other hand my other car has an E-boost2 - also stable and extremely easy to use.... do some research ..ultimately your the one that has to look at it every day.
  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINKS *balloonsandmanpoleandlesbiansandfairybread* btw thanks for starting the thread Chubbs.... I was told last night not to do it and I was afraid too... *runs from the scary fairy*
  12. Yeah and watch out for the red falcon with the child meshed rear windows BAI-14T?? Not sure on the last 3 digits but think thats it cause I remember thinking it looked like "BAIT" ....lol Also there is now a silver/grey wrx with a big wing and an aftermarket exhaust.. SHAX saw a dude getting done by it last week and I spotted it last night...
  13. hmmmm I think we need to compare lists! Although the HWP on the coast aren't that bad if you ask me...... Chubbs... i get to see most of the new Hornsby cars because of next door.. il start a list for you!
  14. I found that riding the brake pedal actually gets these idiots to back off as they think you are braking... they are sooooo focused on how close they can get to make you move (even though its a moving parking lot and everyone is travelling at the same speed) that they aren't focusing on the road... they see the brakes come on and they back off.... This is the most effective way I have found... when I originally posted "brake test" it was a poor choice of words.. prolly should of been "warning lights" or something! I don't condone stepping on the brakes and scaring the crap out of em... and yes I do know this would cause an accident hence why I have never done it nor ever will. It just amazes me the number of people that only drive as far as the car in front and not as far as they can see.... this to me indicates poor driver training at some stage I don't tailgate others and nor do I expected to be tailgated - especially when I am keeping up with the flow of traffic and not holding anyone up ( which if I was I would surely change lanes)...... the amount of idiots sitting in the outside lane doing 90 is amazing... I just have a tanti in the car to myself and go around... it would actually be useful if they policed the law "keep left unless overtaking". They made this a points offence last year and I am yet to see it enforced. Anyways... just spotted a new undercover car getting something installed (still has interim label)..... be back with the number plate for the Hornsby guys
  15. And I also don't expected to be tailgated by an officer of the law during peak hour traffic.. I have his number plate and have reported it... not that anything will happen
  16. Let me set this straight ... my brake test on the F3 or anywhere for that matter is whilst still accelerating I touch the brakes just enough to make the lights come on... I am sorry but on the F3 in peak hour there is no room to move over most of the time. This is the most effective way to get idiots off my a55. If I can't see the Pr!cks headlights nor half his bonnet I am going to do something to get him off my a55 - and where does this hatred come from.. 6 years ago a pr!ck was tailgating me on the F3 ... traffic suddenly stops... car behind me can't stop.. totals my car whilst spinning me around on the F3 from car to rock wall etc - 8 months later and a fu3ked back for life I am one pi55ed off person. I will never do half the crap I used too before the accident. I have driven the F3/oph for coming up 12 years straight as a commuter.. I have seen all the stupid crap in the world happen on that road.... I would never intentionally make some one brake hard to get off my a55 ... its lights only to get them to back off. I don't feel like spending another 6 months in hospital thanks due to people riding my a55 and not driving as far as they can see instead of 2metres in front. I only jokingly said the comment re the respray.. hence the lol. btw 90% of the accidents that happen on the F3 are due to idiots taligating and not leaving enough room to brake.
  17. Mine had this issue... the motors were weak. The mounting position of the motors was not the best and it caused the motor to be over extended and eventually ineffective.. The key overrides the motor along the orignal clips hence why you can lock it with a key. New motors are about $20 from memory... make sure it is mounted correctly too!
  18. lol.... me too... I need a respray and Id rather someone else pay for it!
  19. Cooool! I know they don't like actual video cameras in the car.... guessing this is the really small ones like in the V8's n stuff??? You won't be saying that after you see Steves's feet
  20. Had one of the undercovers tail gate me this morning on the F3 (one of the wiggles )... Gave em the same treatment I give everyone else..... brake test FTW. He soon backed off and didn't come near me....... I hate tailgaters...
  21. Spotted a silver S2 R33 coming off the F3 at Kariong this morning... heading towards Gossy
  22. I don't know! Ummmm $30+postage.... its still on the car till this Saturday/Sunday when the new plenum goes in..I can take some photos of it on the car for now. Il post em up tonight
  23. I owned one briefly.... but mine was a lemon..... previous owner dodged the maintenance records amongst other things..... My mate had one also .... awesome car.. but it did have $40K spent on it at Rigolis! In stock form I'd go the gtir over anything else in the same price bracket just because SR20 powah (and build quality) and the lack of money that needs spending to get it go faster..... although can be a b!tch to work on at times according to my dad (mechanic)..... GTIR drivetrain is a heap stronger than any wrx of the same year model.... our 97 wagon (clubspec) has done two gearboxes and the next time its straight cut gears! Also to me the wrx feels like its made of plastic.... but thats just personal opinion...
  24. No worries... will do Adam And its Steves toes she can lick... mine are tooooo ticklish Jason... me and the sunny are planning to head down next wednesday...... possibly a couple of others from Hornsby too
