I must admit I was actually a bit of a hoon when I drove a 1.6L auto Pulsar. 50fwkw of furrrrrrrrrrrrrry! But I turbo'ed the car and something changed, I didn't feel the need to prove myself to anyone anymore. And I drive the Skyline like a nanna. Every man and his dog tries to race it, but I'm happy for them to boot off from the lights and get pulled up down the road, while I nanna drive past them at the speed limit. I get some satisfaction out of it. Both my cars are too valuable to me to risk, as are my passengers if I'm carrying any at the time.
I must admit I have trouble resisting taunts from co-workers or friends to bag them up, but it's a pretty rare occurrence. And then I go back to my nanna driving There's a time and place for everything.
I think it's a phase that quite a lot of us grow out of (or I'd like to think so.)
