  1. Yeah. The Subie is a much rarer beast, the demand they always knew would outweight the supply so they didn't market it and made it so you can only order online. It's first come, first served unlike Toyota which depends on which dealer you go to how many orders they have vs how many Toyota Australia allocate them. From what I remember something like 1500 Toyotas are coming in next year and 400 Subarus. There's only one factory that makes them and they can only produce a total of 100,000 per year which gets gobbled up very quickly by countries such as the US.
  2. I'll just miss you then. I'm leaving Hong Kong on the 1st of December.
  3. Like I said, there's surplus and unallocated stock coming in to other dealers, you just have to ring around. Croydon & Lilydale Toyota both had a GT they would be willing to let you test drive without laying down a ridiculous deposit. Shit, Subie Docklands even let me take their limited edition, very rare BRZ out on a 45 minute test drive without them in the car.
  4. Yeah exactly. Not going to bother advertising it until I have a confirmed production date for my BRZ. The Cube almost costs nothing to run. I fill up with $50 worth of 98 Octane probably every 6 weeks and it's reliable as anything.
  5. When will you be in Hong Kong? I'll be there mid-November to early December.
  6. Yeah, he's full of shit. I told him not to bother telling me about the car, I knew more than he did. If you do go for a BRZ, be prepared that you can only order online and they'll be holding onto $3000 of your money for as long as it takes for the car to arrive... I'm happy to answer any questions you have, I did a lot of research before I committed to buying the car.
  7. If all you want is a GT you can get one reasonably quickly provided you're not picky about colour. There's surplus at dealer because far less people want the GT. The manual GTS is where the huge wait lies, and the BRZ is starting to blow out as well.
  8. I optioned out my BRZ 6AT with Premium Pack (leather/alacantra heated seats), a rear diffuser and floor mats and came out at $42,225 including all on-roads. The equivilent GTS would have worked out a touch more expensive but would have had sat nav which I gave no f*cks for. And 3 years/60,000km free servicing on the BRZ ftw.
  9. Haha, I knew it! Pushy to the point of being downright rude. They definitely turned away a potential customer. The guy's name was Ben. That night I laid down a deposit for the BRZ. And yes, they are that good. Go to Subaru Docklands and test drive a BRZ. I wouldn't get a GT, but a GTS or BRZ will just be a personal choice. The interior, exterior and free servicing won the Subie over to me. The BRZ looks a bit classier, more refined and less boy-racer. Plus WRC Blue Mica is such a nice colour and you can only get it on the BRZ. I think resale is going to be better too.
  10. Nunawading Toyota? They declined my a test drive without a $2000 deposit and intent to purchase. The other dealers were all happy to offer me a test drive but no GTS available so I declined. Test drove a BRZ instead, weighed up the decision and the BRZ won for me.
  11. Check out somewhere like Pete's Bargain Centre. They used to get heaps of new, used and surplus kitchen equipment, etc. in. My ex's restaurant bought loads of second hand tables and chairs previously from Crown Casino there. They also bought all the wok burners, kitchen benches, etc. brand new from there very cheaply. http://www.petesbargains.com.au/
  12. There is a lot of truth in that. I think a lot of people can relate. I'm currently going through a late 20's crisis, always coming back to the thought of what have I really done with my life? Need to move past it. I've got a lot longer to live more than likely.
  13. ^this. My job pays reasonably well for my industry and hours. I'd like to earn more but I couldn't do more than the ~45 hours I do per week without completely losing my mind. I've already done that a few times in the last year or so as I've always struggled with taking my work stress home with me. I don't really have an off switch. I'm glad I never finished the degree I was doing as sure - I'd probably be earning at least $50K more than I earn now - but I think I'd be in a mental institution drooling on my feet. You've gotta have a life. Work to live not live to work. I can say working has allowed me to waste ridiculous money on cars, buy a house (I'll be paying off the mortgage for a long time!), go away when I want to and buy a new car next year. Like I said, my pay is averageish but I've never lived beyond my means. My only debt is my mortgage.
  14. We've all been there.
  15. I always end up stealing all the blanket from myself and it ends up on the floor.
  16. So am I. Tonsils have flared up again, getting a cough. So over it. I wasn't sick for at least a month. It's always inevitable after DECA. Plus I think I may have won the Brisby award this time *sigh*
  17. PS. I've only ever 'lost it' 3 times on a track, and only caused damage to my cars twice. Never on the road. So I think that's a reasonably good record given I'm an old bitch
  18. I'll try not to curse an entire fleet of cars by buying one I want it a little bit more each day but it's still probably 11 or more months away
  19. I went from a 3GS (when it finally died) to an S2 4G. I hate this farking phone (except 4G is nice.) I'd get an iPhone again for sure. So much more user-friendly and logically laid out.
  20. No, not really. Hopefully that changes with the new car
  21. Yeah it sucks balls. Mine was hitting a ripple strip side-on and getting airborne. Expensive day - two tyres came off the rims (but thankfully were salvageable), scratched the rims up a little, stuffed a rear hub and put cracks in the front lip. The solenoids in the transmission also packed up shortly after. Think it ended up costing my about $1200 in repairs *sigh*
  22. Yeah I did that on two wheels at Sandown with non-stretched tyres. Result - driving home on two different spacesavers (17" & 18") lol
  23. Oh I didn't buy it through there, my colleague ordered off eBay. They definitely work. Wait half an hour after taking one, lie down in a completely dark room and you'll fall asleep pretty quickly and stay asleep. I was pretty sensitive to the 3mg dose at first and it made me feel hungover the next day but my body got pretty used to it and I'll wake up feeling awesome and refreshed. You might need to adjust your dose once you work out what your body needs. I probably take them once or twice a week when I know I'm going to have sleeping problems. It's a hormone your body naturally produces and it's shown to have a lot of positive health benefits, so in moderation it can't be bad for you. You can't buy them in Australia without a prescription, in the US you can buy them from the supermarket. No issues importing them though. For the nights I cannot sleep at all Stilnox is the only answer, and it knocks me out cold. But I'll only take it as an absolute last resort.
  24. My colleague put me onto these: http://www.a1supplements.com/Melatonin-100-Tablets-p-16943.html They work a treat.
