  1. Exactly what they said. Don't be so concerned about the km's, the condition of the car is far more important. A lot of 80,000km cars will have been wound back, especially on a car of that age.
  2. I used these guys in Braeside: http://www.enkelman.com.au/ The full list of VASS signatories is here: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyre...n30June2010.pdf You'd be best to ask them about the emissions testing.
  3. In my case the emissions test was done by the engineer as they had data to support the acceptable emissions limits of the engine I was installing. And the engine was standard. In your case you'd require a full emissions test from scratch. And when I checked into that it was well over $2000 for the test...and if you fail, over $2000 to go for the test again, etc. It's not worth it.
  4. Still dying too.
  5. My Pulsar has a VASS certificate. I required it to change the engine number after an SR20DET conversion as the engine was never an option for the car. They check engine mounts, intake system, emissions, noise, height, brakes (including a drive test with brake test) to ensure everything is safe and complies with the relevent ADR's for the year the car was manufactured. It cannot stop you getting defected for other modifications that aren't checked, legal and listed on your certificate. You have 30 Days to submit the form to Vicroads if you have been asked to do so - in my case so I could legally register my car with the engine it had in it. I hadn't been defected, it was just a precautionary measure because there was far more on the car I didn't want an officer to look at should he realise my engine number didn't match my registration. Just a bit of piece of mind. The certificate doesn't expire as such. I'm sure if an officer was being picky your engineer can re-issue the certificate provided no changes have been made. My certificate was $750
  6. I'm not 100% sure but I know we had R34 GT-T stockies over R33 GT-R Vspec Brembo's on an S15.
  7. They're rubbish. Don't bother with an aftermarket kit.
  8. Don't be so sure. I got knocked back at Burwood with a RWC on my freshly imported Skyline when I went for the rego inspection as the car was too low.
  9. Same. My other half and I also have bronchitis at the moment.
  10. No manuals. Regular 4-speed auto or CVT auto with steering wheel shift. Mine's the latter.
  11. Haha, no DECA! Wheels, factory Neoclassical kit, coilovers and foglights are all on the cards in due time.
  12. More pics in Japan while she's waiting on a boat bound for Sydney: She's perfect
  13. That's pretty awesome
  14. His email is still down Shan. I have his personal email which I'm contacting him regularly on but I'm not going to hand that out unless he gives me permission to do so.
  15. Why would I want to see that?
  16. This man, he knows. DO NOT believe Japanese km's, they're wound back so often. And these wound back cars tend to fetch more at auction and at dealers because people fall for it. Instead look at the condition of the car, that's far more important.
  17. And you deserved the seatbelt fine. Who the f*ck doesn't wear a seatbelt?!
  18. Going 4WDing?

    Help?

Engine check light comes on generally when there's a faulty reading from a sensor (of which there are far too many to list.) And no, you shouldn't ignore an engine check light. Take it to an actual mechanic, they'll hook a diagnostic tool up to the car and it'll list any recent errors the car has logged. What you're describing sounds like misfiring possibly? Coilpacks die on cars of this age, that's something you should get the mechanic to check at the same time.
  20. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  21. I must admit I'm getting withdrawls as I love jumping on the site every day for a look, even though I bought a car through them a couple of weeks ago now
  22. No worries. My Cubic hasn't left Japan yet so realistically this car will be available for sale in ~2 months time. In the meantime it'll get another service I'll also endeavour to get some better photos of the whole car (inside and out) closer to the time I'm ready to sell.
  23. Their emails are down as well. I'll point Ben towards this thread incase anyone needs to ask anything specific to him.
  24. Yeah more recently I've noticed they're absolute shite. I'm not sure how someone could possibly get away with grading a car a 4.5 with an 80cm long deep dent in the roof. That's a dent nearly a metre long! I've recently purchased a grade 4.5 car which was actually a deserving grade 4.5 car.
