  1. My other half has training in Chicago for a week for work, he's then flying to New York and I'm going to meet him there for a week. I get cheap flights so I may as well take advantage of it. I've been to New York before, I'll just do the normal touristy things again
  2. BeEnAr - you are still missing the point. It covers injury to a person, not to property.
  3. So will I!
  4. Are you sure? This is what I found when I googled: http://www.tac.vic.gov.au/jsp/content/Navi...er.do?areaID=25 It covers medical expenses incurred. No mention of public liability. That's what your insurance is for.
  5. Ouch. The EPA guy was reasonable about it, said he wasn't going to fine me because my car was otherwise stock mechanically and I had told him that straight up. I suppose having a pleasent attitude towards him helped. While I was going through the formalities the police from the booze bus came over and offered me chocolate (lol) I'm not disputing my car might be a little bit over (as I mentioned only 1dB over on acceleration in a questionable test environment) but I didn't think it was that much louder on acceleration - they showed me 96dB, but I think that may have had something to do with the sound bouncing off the wall. I've got a while to fix it (I think 28 days from when I receive the letter)? Either way it's over, but not by much. I haven't had any trouble in the last 2-odd years of owning the car.
  6. Yes, as does Repco.
  7. There's one that works near me with over a million...
  8. You're right, I've owned modified cars for a while and I've never had an issue. No fine, he said he wasn't going to fine me, only warn me. Probably because I was being honest and cooperative. Kept asking me if it was my car, that was annoying. I just think swapping the exhaust over mightn't be the best idea as I drive the car every day and I'm bound to get done again. I'll speak to the exhaust shop about adding a hotdog and see if that would get it legal?
  9. As am I. Not happy about being tested near a wall. The letter is in the mail and I've gotta think about how to quieten it down a little. At least I wasn't fined I guess.
  10. Skyline was EPA'd last night. I question how it was tested (near a wall) but I'm trying to consider my options. The letter is coming in the mail so I'll have a little while to sort it out. It measured 91dB at 4800rpm on acceleration, 96dB on deceleration. It surprises me as even the tester agreed it didn't sound loud. So it's only just over until I back off (not that I ever really do the RPM it was tested at ) I'm figuring if I do the swap for stock exhaust trick I'll get done again seeing as I drive the car every day and I'll now be on the EPA's target list. What options for a slim second muffler do I have? My issue is clearance, which is why I had it removed when I bought the car. The EPA guy knew quite a bit. Even noticed my boost control solenoid was bypassed, which is something I had never noticed. I knew it ran higher than stock boost but never knew exactly why. I suppose I should be thankful that car is otherwise stock aside from the exhaust and all they were testing was noise.
  11. And I wish I'd seen this. I was one of the unlucky ones, Skyline EPA'ed for exhaust noise. They were outside Ringwood Mazda and pulling all the cars into the carpark. Booze bus, drug bus and EPA station.
  12. Bloody old man nap Wish I could do nanna naps, don't have time anymore
  13. I'll be joining you at 26 in a few months. fml
  14. I'm not sure you can. And well, sucks to be her. But at the same time, not much sympathy.
  15. And Part 2: http://obsessivecompulsivetuningcars.com/2...2540;ト1/
  16. Don't laugh, I got sideways into the first exit at the end of the strip in my old '31. And consequently got told not to drift. It wasn't intentional! But no, I'm not running either car. The Pulsar would break another driveshaft and I can't afford to break the Skyline
  17. Yup, would have been me
  18. R32 on the back of an RACV tow truck, Mt Dandenong Road/Maroondah Hwy intersection in Ringwood at about 6:40pm tonight.
  19. Reasonably large, having trouble remembering as I haven't had one since I bought the '34. I never ran it dry though.
  20. Not that bad, used to get 500km's to a tank. More than my '34.
  21. R31 Skyline. I had a 1988 S2 Ti and a 1990 S3 Executive, both for $2K with RWC and Rego. If you get a decent one it'll last forever. Easy to drive and a decent amount of power.
  22. Decided to try their Eye Fillet Stonegrill last night. For the price, not bad, but the cut of meat isn't the greatest. If you want really awesome Stonegrill, Ishiya Stonegrill in Chinatown. Not cheap, but so worth it: http://www.ishiyastonegrill.com.au/ Little restaurant with a nice atmosphere and great food.
  23. I've had two very positive dealings with J-Spec Imports: http://www.j-spec.com.au/ A lot of friends have also had good dealings with Iron Chef Imports: http://www.ironchefimports.com/site/
