  1. Bumped into plenty of Skylines today on an NDSOC cruise in Flinders.
  2. I work in Bayswater. It makes sense that there's lots of automotive places, it's a very industrial area.
  3. me me me me me me Staying both nights, at this stage by myself. Would like a room by myself, if not possible I can share
  4. And sorry Charles, haven't managed to get high-res shots this week. Been flat out. Do you still need them?
  5. Woot FWD represent. Clive - where are you?
  6. We employed a gutsy young bloke who had the initiative to walk into our office and ask if we had any jobs on offer, offering a week's unpaid trial so we could see if he was good. Maybe try a different approach.
  7. Could you add me to the list Ryan? I faxed the deposit confirmation at about 2:45pm today. The entry form will be on your fax at 8:30am tomorrow morning when I get into work
  8. Edit: shit, left my CAMS license number at home Regardless, sending payment now and will fax my form tomorrow.
  9. 'SXYR33' white R33 with a kit and rims, had SAU stickers. I waved, got a wave back in a brief chat before the lights changed on Canterbury Road just before Eastlink
  10. Oh certainly, I agree. But that doesn't stop me jumping into my soon to be manual car even though I got my P's 7 years ago in an auto and my full license with no conditions 4 years ago.
  11. Not true. The automatic condition is not there when you get a full license.
  12. *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
  13. It's all good, I don't drink very often I don't need anything but thanks a lot for the offer. It was no trouble.
  14. Well as most Melbourne members know I gave the Pulsar trans it's last rights at November DECA last year. Now with rear-mounted gearbox! In all seriousness, today was a sad day and the end of an era. I started the car for the first time in close to 4 months. She started as though I had never left her, the auto worked as though it was never broken. After being auto for her 12 year life I think she's a bit sad about letting go. But it's for the best, I know it won't last forever. And an update for the Skyline; The '34 got some relatively inexpensive but very effective neatening up yesterday. The door pillars were wrapped in some cheap, shitty 'carbon-fibre look' vinyl by the previous owner which looked tacky and had started to come off. The strips on the rear door were also faded. So 4.5 hours (yes, it took that long to get it perfect!) from a very patient and lovely SAU member and this is the result: Before: Comparison: After: It's 3M carbon fibre look vinyl. This stuff it incredible, it's the most expensive on the market and there's a very good reason for that - it looks and feels exactly like the real thing. Very happy with the result.
  15. Before: Comparison: After: Thanks so much to Charles for his time and patience. The results speak for themselves
  16. It is but I could do with something smaller and more fuel efficient.
  17. Sorry for the late response, PM sent.
  18. Yes, you can borrow mine tomorrow arvo if Croydon isn't too far away for you?
  19. If you've got 10 months left on your P's you haven't been driving for that long to accumulate a lot of speeding fines
  20. Thinking of selling my '34, wonder how it'd sell on here...

    Insurance

Wow, that's terrible! I'm 25 & with Shannons (have been for 3 years, prior to that I was with AAMI then Just Cars.) They definitely insure under 25's, you just have to be the right sort of person. My R34 GT-T is $1,200 per year and insured for $20,000. My highly modified Pulsar is $1,100 per year on limited use cover and insured for $15,000. I also have full salvage rights to the car at no cost in the event it's written off. I pay a bit extra because of this. My insurance would be much cheaper save for having my cars insured in a very high risk suburb. Price includes my CAMS license discount.
  22. RCEGRL on Maroondah Hwy in Croydon.
  23. Yeah colder plugs do that. They don't like being left to idle for long periods or moving the car very short distances regularly.
