it really depends on which s14 you have. If it is a very late model then the turbo is the same as s15 turbos, both have vct etc.. A recent dyno run of a modded S15 with stock turbo netted him 227kw's. Yes i know its only a number but they are very good turbos. May i suggest www.silviansw.com or www.nissansilvia.com for further tech advice:)

R33 GTST vs S14/S15 vs 180 vs 300zx
Nismodified replied to supra's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
all stock cars, al manual, all perfect launchers. 300zx TT easy. -
u wont get very far or go very fast in the last two gears of a commie.

You go jap for the garantee'd power it makes, the quality and finish of the final product, the ease of installation, and to some extent, the brand name as well. Sure, a local place can make an exhaust equivalent or better, but it wont be alot cheaper and a bargain price. Some people would rather pay more and ensure quality, i know i do especially when i get haircuts etc... after having a pod for a while, i deciding to make a semi-decent, fully enclosed airbox to cover the pod. i cut a hole, about 4inchs in diamter in the space where the base of the stock airbox would be. And bought some tubing, it was shiny metallic in colour, thin tough plastic, and was ribbed with spiralling around to maintain the shape of the tubing. i have a Gtr front bar, i mounted one end of the tubing to a side opening on the f'bar, and the other end to the hole. i noticed a more agreesive top end, and angrier noise.

for an RB25DE equiped R33 142kw @ 6400rpm 231nm @ 4800rpm 0-100, around 7.5secs and your doing pretty good. Add another 8 secs for the 400m time.

i used some galvanised iron to make my enclosure. It looks beaut and was cheap to make, but something that i would recommend is that even if you are making the box from aluminium or another metal, you mite want to line the inside of the box with some heat proof material from clark rubber or what ever. The lid of the box doesnt get that hot however. ive got a large cold feed leading to the box, but the box still gets very hot and it wouldnt cost alot to buy some, and you wouldnt see it (since its inside the box).

CRASHED MY CAR :( (similar suspension to a silvia?
Nismodified replied to NA_R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i dare say they are not the same. I read that the suspension in skylines is more sophisticated then a silvia. hope things go well with the rebuild. -
80's turbocharged Fwd car - desgined for the hair dresser on the go. give me a break, who are they kidding?

i just leave my car running for a bit when i park. Usually, i need to grab a bag or other crap from the car and that time is more then sufficient.

Expression of interest for the NSW number plates YDREAM
Nismodified replied to Hiroshima Screamer's topic in New South Wales
its okay dude, but i dunno about putting it on a skyline though, buts thats me. i cant talk, my plates are aweful. -
anycar would benefit from a cooling down, but its not as needed in NA cars, i think the Apexi turbo timers (some of them) have TUrbo and NA on their packaging....Rice factor for NA cars. Turbo cars should cool down because the turbo runs very hot, and oil is needed to extract the heat away. Leaving the car in idle allowes the oil to circulate through the turbo

if it were me, i would keep the car. Its going to be ever sooo painful to have a nice car in the garage for 9 months, and not be able to drive it. The temptation to speed is ever so high in skylines, and doing anything to help you keep your car and licence in one piece is a good idea But hey, thats just me.

very very dumb, and he paid the ultimate price for it.

3 years holy cow that is a long time. is that because of other things as well, or your cousin got 3 years simply for the amount over the limit?
-
Bp sell their "BP ultimate 98 octane" and a few BP places also sell "premium unleaded" which is 95 octane, instead of ultimate.
-
ive been down that road too. Its not fun. It's a hard way to learn a lesson, but you will learn from it
-
Use at least premium unleaded fuel. As NA_R33 said, you will get better fuel economy at least, and peace of mind. Though something you may not know is, Shell Optimax loses its octane value over a short period of time, and drops significantly.

get the best you can afford. With a locally made exhuast, you are relying on someones experience to build you an exhuast, where as in a Jap 'off the shelf' item, they spent the money on RnD to develop a good exhaust, and you will feel it in your wallet. I dont think a Jap cat back is too expensive at all, i wouldnt mind getting the rest of the exhaust made locally.

first thing about a some (not all) drink drivers, you would probaly smell the alcohol almost straight away. You would behave differently as well. Im sure the officer was been lazy, and was filtering out the likey drink drivers. But i also rekon they were not interested in breather-lising you, they should be checking as many people as possible, drink driving is stupid.
-
yes they do fit. i had them on my wheels, also 17x8, and was told on a couple of times that it is the incorrect size so i changed to 235/45
-
I see that as an everyday occurance. it could be the area i live in though, or that fact that most imports catch my eye. It could be worse, we could be surrounded a gazillions of millions of toyota echo sedans.

Hint Hint , we want discounts on donuts !!!

get your launches right and the worst that can happen is that you'll be neck to neck.
