  1. The article basically says the a NA engine is very sensitive to intake adjustments. It does not mean that the ideal system is used in all cars, and more power is still hidden with the intake system. Interesting and worthwhile read The HPI article on modifying the NA sr20 180sx changed the intake with a new one, with a different volume, it made a slight gain in higher RPM torque. I will pursue with my metal pipe intake plans. As i believe, i metal intake pipe will be better then a plastic one. Especially with mods such as extractors.
  2. there is risk in everything you do whilst in your car. Illegal street runs or hitting a twisty bit of road. Both have their own dangers, and you take the risk when you do either. Right now, illegal drag races have been highly glorified through the big screen and hence the attention from media and the authorities.
  3. roller bearing as in its uses cylindrical rollers? or ball bearing ? Or are u using roller bearing as a general term for BB?
  4. my car was untouched when it came over. Not much point in changing the badges when u can see the wheel studs and the brake callipers more easier. If u know the difference b/w blue and maroon badges, then surely you would be able to spot the brake and stud differences first.
  5. POD with CAI and custom made airbox, with metal intake piping. instead of going for the springs, maybe considered matched springs/shocks combination, front and rear struts, front and rear sways, brake calliper upgrade, audio upgrade.
  6. i highly doubt that cars in attendance consisted of Skylines and WRX's. I know alot of P platers are driving around in skylines and other fast cars but please, can the media be any more bias ? Those who got caught at the illegal drags deserved what ever they got, those who got away, try and learn from the experience.
  7. sorry, mine are maroon and white. Yes im Na
  8. 15 x 6.5 rims my tyres were 205/60, bloody aweful tyres.. oh and s13 and 180sx owners mite be interested in buy your wheels.
  9. any car is capable of killing. but i have thought it may be a good idea to have resticted power/weight ratio governed cars, but it would be hard to enforce.
  10. i made it from galvanised iron sheetmetal. i had access to a gilotine and a bender so that made the job a hell of a lot easier. making the template for it was probaly the most time consuming part for me.
  11. yeh i thought i was pretty cool as well when i saw the calsonic parts, ahahhaah
  12. that is AWsome !, thanks the pics mate. love the braided lines from the catch can too !!
  13. that cord thing for the exhaust is adjustable as well. Mine opened up mid range, about 4000ish rpm. It was designed so you could adjust your exhaust noise and all other exhaust matters. Also, your radiators and things should be calsonic too !! They make radiators and exhaust etc...
  14. better break pads.
  15. hoping you have a horrible birthday and all your dreams are shattered !! only jokin mate, have a good one.
  16. no skylines were pulled in when i was there, I was there for a good couple of hours at least during the peak time. Basically, they would round up the idiots driving like hoons, regardless of the state of the car. huge body kits on slammed cars were instantly pulled in, as expected. (struggling to drive into the defect station because your car is too low doesnt make a good impression) On the night, it was exhaust, height, seats & interior, visable engine bay mods. They also had an RTA inspector or two as well.
  17. yep. the bandwagon it starting to look like a tin of sardines..
  18. you get dont get an MX5 to for its boot space or its straight line performace.
  19. 4potters mite be only on later 180sx's. S15's are 5 studders on a side note.
  20. normal exhaust piping is 2 1/4. dont expect anything bigger then this. Greg is on the ball, the compliancer will fit the cheapest possible cat that fits.
  21. 137.5kws, nice numbers!! Care to share which piggy back you are using, and the sort of improvments that it made? Got any pics of that throttle body? cheers
  22. Really appreciate the info Skyla looks like the extractors really added some top end torque. the torque curve looks like and flat.
  23. havnt heard from ya in a while dude, you proably drove past me on the night, i was with some friends standing and watching the defections take place next to the defect station, and no i didnt drive my car
  24. i doubt it will be a BOV problem or turbo issue. Like i said, i had the same symtops, and my car is NA. I think my fuel pump has been changed in its life though.
