Excellent, I will be calling on you come time to get the brakes done. Still might go for 18's as it may be a safer option once the car has two kids, wife and dog plus luggage in the back. Not really interested in the Staggered Rims and AWD. Maybe if I had bought the Axis S.
-
Does the axis have flared guards or is that just body kit to make them look like they are flared. I'm talking about the AWD series 2 model, similar guards to the AR-X.
-
Ok. I only stated that rim size because the site said that's the size available in the 19" riim so I guess those aren't gonna fit. I probably should have just asked what the M35 standard off set was. Cheers for the reply.
-
I'm looking at buying a set of WORKS S1 rims 19" x 12.5 for the M35. What offset do they need to be and are they fine for a brake upgrade? Also is there a straight fit DBA slotted rotor swap available. Sorry to ask once again but the brake section is out of control. Cheers.

So in reference to the Autech/Axis models. How do we know if they are a genuine Axis. Are they stamped somewhere on the chassis or do they have a plate?? Or is it just a bodykit and wheels that we have to rely on as evidence??
-
OH, right.
-
Those prices don't seem to be too extravagant, so were they not overly popular because they have so many options of cars in Japan or are those pircest out of reach for the middle class japanese worker. Or is my conversion wrong, cause in Oz dollars I am reading that to be around 40k.
-
No AWD in the Axis S. I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat otherwise. I really liked the interior of those cars, even if they were a leather/ cloth combo. Had a nice feel to to them , whatever that mean.

Ahhhh a manual. How awesome would that be, I would very much enjoy the N/A motor accelerate through a 6 speed manual. It certainly wouldn't be turbo like but I think it would be a nice matchup. Do you think Nissan purposely made this car to be difficult to modify just to piss us off or was tiptronic the trend at the time for luxury wagons?? Also does anyone know what the M35 were worth brand new??
-
No I didnt because of the car club issue, but I might as well see how that goes now you've mentioned that. Thanks.
-
Just car quoted $1680 with $600 excess, and $1150 with an adjusted excess off $1100. So I guess I will go with the adjusted excess. Paying by the month will be much easier to deal with mentally so glad they give that option.

Cheers. Will be good to check out some other cars in person and see what's on the horizon for them as well. Look forward to doing some trips back to newcastle in it on the weekends anyway.

Most probably mate. Unless someone else had been in to drive one of the other ones. If it had the woodgrain finish steering wheel, that would be the one. What did you think?? I wasn't a big fan of the leather colour at first, but it grew on me. I wanted the black leather out of the ARX but in the Axis car, but can't get or have everything I guess.
-
Thanks, My wife really wanted a Kluger and I just told her, there is nothing exciting about buying a new or near new Kluger. I am the stay home dad for the next 12 months so she took that into consideration that I will be driving it more. haha she had my balls to the wall there for a while as she was fincancing this purchase despite me having sold the GTR. I guess she just wanted to enjoy having the control for a bit. I kind of thought of a bit of a discount being N/A and 32, I will just have to ring them tomorrow and and suck it in whatever they say.
-
Ok excellent. All this querying hasn't been in vein as I have just done a deal on the white Series 2 Autech AWD Axis. Won't pick the car up till late next week, but pretty happy all round. Thanks for the help guys. Now for insurance, what ya'll paying and who with???

Vq25det To Vq35det Conversion In M35 Stagea?
Tonkachow replied to dcdc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I hope it's that simple cause for 10k you don't really want any more headaches to deal with. Maybe I should have kept my GTR as a spare parts car, may have saved me alot more money down the track. -
Yep yours is identical to the car I am looking at. Sounds like a bit of a pain to get it sorted. I know functionally it's not necessary but it kind of bugs my wife and enough reason for her to not want the car. I'm after a 3.5litre axis sorry dimi but would have snapped yours up in heart beat otherwise. Can you tell me what was involved in getting your TV working. I know it's probably all in the info section but there is so much conversation that it takes a fair while to get through it all. Especially on mobile BB on the Ipad.

Anyone got any more info on the buttons in the M35 dash with Japanese writing. Are the english versions still obtainable in oz and at what price?? Or do I have to try get them through the U.S V35 nissan parts register??

Vq25det To Vq35det Conversion In M35 Stagea?
Tonkachow replied to dcdc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
SCotty, do you mean, yours is slipping after it has had 4k thrown at rebuilding the box?? If so , damn damn damn. I guess my aspirations for turbo charging a 3.5ltr stagea just got crushed. -
Cool. Thanks again.

That car is certainly a sexy beast and was nice to drive, but having owned a GTR and my wife agrees, we really want Awd. Only problem is that has limited our options. I am the same,I want a turbo but rather a more recent model in series 2 guise and the 3.5 does the job. Can you guys tell me is there much involved in getting the radio sorted for local stations and can the pop up screen be useful for anything. Also the buttons on the dash are in Japanese kind of put my wife off. Is it easy to rectify these or more a matter of more money will solve them. Cheers

OK!! Point made. Rockin over after lunch. I'm sure he is sick of seeing me.

GTR sold today. As sad as it is I have opted to look for an M35 over a 34 GTR. As mad as you think I am , the stress of a modified GTR takes it's toll, and I can't own one unless it's modified. What I'm after is just some advice on a few yards in Sydney. I've been to prestige in Mosman and like what they have and seem to be nice guys. Are there any other yards worth looking at? Are there specific things I should be looking for in the car. I want a turbo but prefer a later model series 2 which I believe aren't turbo'd. Does anybody think a later model car offers any more then just piece of mind over series 1. They seem very similar otherwise. Any other random advice would be great as tomorrow is car shopping therapy day.

I'm selling my toy now which is an R33 GTR and really want something more modern and the practicality of the wagon in 05 or 06 year has really grown on me. I have driven a couple down at North Shore prestige and really liked the n/a 3.5 and it's turbo potential. If it's got good modification potential then that's great. Could the AWD system be that different? I know GTS-4 with 380kw atw. Hopefully it wouldn't be any weaker then one of them. I owned a laggy TO4 powered gts-t a long while back in auto form. I actually don't mind the auto with a shift kit and think 3.5 ltr should help avoid too much lag in a turbo application. And yes I got a wife and little monkey as well as a dog, so another wagon in the family won't hurt.
