  1. Hey guys I was having some problems with my car pinging it turned out that the crank angle sensor was not in the right position(dam mechanic). I moved it clockwise a few weeks ago(retard) and the pining has stoped so far. how ever the car just wasn't running the same, so today I turned it back slightly still not where it was when it was pingping but just a few mil back. now on my safc I'm getting a knock reading of 60-80 while the car is at idle. I went for a drive and put the foot down a little and couldn't hear any ping and the knock level slowly droped thru the rev range down to about 0-10. should I be concerned about this high number at idle? or should I just reset the knock value as the timming has been changed? when I went in to sensor check idle knock was at 320-330? is that high?   2. "ARC turnflow unit" +1 the arc return pipe runs back just under the cooler and back to the stock intercooler piping where the sidemount was.. or just do a sidemount
  3. nah not yet but the fuel pressure was all good when we tested it I have put in an safc2 so I can watch for knock... it just hard to look at cause it doent always happen just every now and then! or it will happen like five times then clear up?

  5. where would that sound come from? mine seems to be coming from the top of the engine on the exhuast side!!! dam car only had it a week

  8. yeh true I might have to toe it somewhere and have it checked... if it was a bearing would any of it come out with the oil? I'll drop the oil and see if there's any bits in there that should not be I guess..
  9. pretty sure.. Its not something I have done before myself but a friend of mine done his in his silvia and said it sounds the same.. he's pretty in the know with these cars as he drifts and built his monstar, It seems to idle fine however if I give it a little rev it starts a knocking sound at 2-3rpms then clears up.. its a pretty loud knock very easy to here. and just sounds like it's coming from the head or front of the motor! cheers Russ
  10. dude the flames look cool but a friend of mine who WAS running a "custom cat" and flames started getting burn marks on his rear bumper.... and it had such a good paint job LOL.

  12. Hey guys my sr is making a tapping noise around 2-3k it started last night when I was like 25k's from home I drove home keeping it under 3000rpms. If it is the bearing how good are the odds that I'm gonna need a rebuild? it was still driving fine when I got home? do you think It'll be right to just change bearings? Cheers, Russ
  13. I think you can set 8 different tune points on the safc 1 and 12 on the safc 2.

  16. oil in your exhuast from turbo seal? but I geuss then it would happen ever time it's hot..... dunno but I wanna know what the go is with the oil on the plug i get that sometimes.
  17. yeh thats my thoughts 5.115 is max so anything above that will still read as 5.115v. she's rich as on the dyno running 12-13psi, also my timing was at 20btdc at full boost I guess I just need an ecu upgrade or a remap.
  18. I'll have a look at the timing on full boost tonight! also what is the limit for the afm I get that 5.115v on anything from 10+

Hey mate I don't ever get fuel cut I think it has been removed eg: when I had my fmic installed the guy who hooked it up did not connect anything back into the actuactor, so I was hitting like 15-17psi (without knowing it) and no problems untill it shot off a cooler pipe!!! I was funny the first time it boosted I was like wow that cooler makes it go heaps harder.... thinking I was still on 7psi haha and yes they are peak values. Russ
  20. After a pod/panel filter, full zorst, safc and a little boost your looking at big bucks to go any further (safely) so do the fmic and pod if thats your choice add a little boost and enjoy

  22. I have cleaned afm and replaced filter like 1-2000ks ago so maybe the injectors need a check. I just thought I'd have more room to move on the boost side of things. Also how is the timing does that look right.
  23. yeh is that right but? I know guys who have ran 220kw on stock afm and injectors. so it doesn't seem right that I'm maxing them out on stock turbo with 10psi.
  24. Hey guys I have an r33 s2 with fmic, turbo back zorst, upgraded fuel pump, boost controller and a remap ecu. I was watching my consult readings and on 10 psi foot down I get the following at around 7000rpms Timing at 53' btdc, injectors duty 93% afm 5.115v. are any of these reading high for such little boost? I didn't think the injectors were getting pushed so hard on 10psi! Cheers Russ
