Difference Between Series 1, 2 And 3 R33 Gt-r?
fritter replied to dilmah's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have the series 3 r33 gtr the series the comes with red stitching and inserts on the interior as well as the rear fog and xenon headlights. the gearbox is 5 speed manual without OD meaning that it is just another gear with similar ratios. So when u shift into it you are still accelerating forcefully. With the 5 speed OD ( series 1 and 2) the use of the 5th gear is for coasting/fuel economy. -

Hi People, I had a bearing failure and as a result had metal go through my engine. The engine is now rebuilt and I was womdering if I should replace the oil cooler before running it again. Some people have said that no matter how much you flush em that some metal could remain inside em and potentially enter your engine later. Also the engine builder suggests not running the oil cooler during run in. What do ya's think?

Looking for a front bar for my 33 GTR. Something like a veilside or other with large intercooler air supply. Prefer from brisbane or north QLD but will consider all

ur crazy. If ya already have the n1 pump then fit it to ur engnie. Oil is the life line of ur engine. For the sake of saving $400 ( not even as u have to buy another standard one) you could guarantee trouble free lubrication.

any chance of seeing these on a gtr? even if its not the right colour i just wanna see a before and after pic to see how they sit -
Yeah thats correct. Markdid the tune. He just got a new 4wd dyno set up in his shop. Dont know that brand off hand but I will check with mark today. All the paperwork with the "logged" runs are in the post on the way up to me now. I didnt want them sent with the car when it was transported from sydney to brisbane as things tend to go missing that way, andthats the reason i have not yet posted scans of the logged runs up here.

I still have to put in alot of practice as i didnt get a great launch either times
-
Ended up sticking with the gt-rs turbos. they come on hard at around 4300rpm and go hard to my 8600 rev limit. I will post pics of my times on monday. Im aiming for mid 10's until i get used to launching it and hopefully my times will drop a bit more soon. I have done a couple of practice runs on an old dead end road out the back of townsville and using my rev/speed monitor i got down to 10.72

Just got the GTR back on Friday morning and after a few days on the gold coast have now driven it up from brisbane to townsville. ITS AWESOME. HILLS MOTORSPORTS have done an awesome and thorough job. Im very impressed. 447 kw at the wheels. 1012nM of torque. I ended up having to get a new gearbox and opted for the P.A.R. straight cut box. Feels smooth to change but does have the usual whine in 1st 2nd and 3rd. full kit cost me $5300. I will running it this week end so i will keep you all informed of my 1/4 mile times. Must repaet again what a great job mark from hills did. I know there are some people in here who think otherwise, but he has impressed me.

standards are ok as you are not boosting heaps and are still on stock turbos so airflow wil not be of a huge volume through them. its only when large amounts of air are going through em that the ability to smoothly and accurately read this airflow diminishes. if your car is "starving" of fuel then an upgraded fuel pump will definatley help, but at the same time if it is starving then you should stick to the standard boost as at high revs it has the potential to lean out your mixtures. A good turner will let you know what your air/fuel mixtures are like at high revs and will let you know if you need more fuel ( and a bigger pump) If you do then you will get more power at he wheels. Also he will be able to let you know if you can run more boost to go with the extra fuel which will definately end up with more power at the wheels.

you can get the same thing on ebay for less than $300, is totally variable, not just switchable betwenn 4 or 5 settings and can go between 100% 2wd through to a torque split between the front and the rear of whatever you require. 1-100%, 100%-1.

if you can come on here and honestly say you have never ever lost traction in the wet and have never ever exceeded the speed limit by 30 km'h then I will say hello to the pink elephants and the flying cops

boo friki' hoo!!!! bridgeing gaps! What a load of moon pie and whistle pop! Officers of teh laaaaaaaw and modified car owners seeing eye to eye would be jolly nice. There is them and them other guys that do stuff. Simple. And heaven forbid anyone losing a bit of mahood in the wet and having more than one hair mod. why dont you slip your halo over your toaster and buy a hyundia. Its not like the guy was cross dressing through a wombat zone!!!!

definately be used on the street. will see the track regularly too. the car is almost ready. will be going for its dyno run on wednesday. had it on dyno last friday and it hit 380 kw no prob. graph was climbing steep but noticed small amount of oil coming from one of the turbos so stopped the run. Both turbos now back @ shop getting new seals. warranty job. turbos back on car tomorrow. will post graph hopefully wednesday night.

oh and if you do snap it off dont worry. and good mech will have super hardened drill bits to drill the easy-out out and if you stuff the threads there are helicoils ( thread inserts to bring slogged out holes/threads back to their original sizes. To many pussy boys in here to scared or stupid to get their hands dirty.......
