Hey all just fitted the coil pack, which the mechanic told me to do and my car is still f**ked. Pissed off. Who needs tyres.

Ok mechanic came out this morning and did a few test with the spark and the injectors and in the process blew his test light. Told me its the coil pack. So i go and buy a coil pack which was $110 which isnt to bad. Fitted the coil pack and its still f**ked. Not happy, he will be coming back for round two shortly. It is now looking like the MSD DIS 4 pack or the microtech, i hope not then its getting into the $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Looks like a good turn out pitty about the rain, will come along when my car is back on the road.

Mate if youre not sure what you are doing for all the time and effort take it to a pro, its worth it in the long run. Call showdown customs 3353 1260 he is pretty cheap and does a quick job.

Try showdown customs 3353 1260, does a good job and has contacts for skylines parts as the guy next to his place does compliance on imports.

I have a coil problem at the moment it sounds like an outboard motor or wrx, if it was the coil i dont think it would just die like that and restart normally. It does sounds like a fuel thing.

Well zip ties are out of the question. Some type of metal bracket secured to a solid fixing point.

It is a MSD DIS 4. Yes the microtech does have the inbuilt ignitors. Thats what i was wondering what type to get with or without inbuilt ignitors. Thanks for ur help mate.

Yeah im not sure if i can run the split fires with the set up i have, maybe someone knows. Thanks for the link Craved.

Ok i would check with the D.O.T. first what the legislation is on some of those defects, because they cant defect you on some shit that they make up. Fair enough ride height under 100mm you will get done and a bald tyre, but front mount not having mesh thats a new one. Air filter wasnt it secured properly.

Hi all. Looks like my coils have shit themselves and im looking at buying some splitfires. My current set up is a microtech Ltx-12 and a MSD 4 ignition with a Ford coil pack on a series 2 RB 25DET. Yes i know its Ford, but they are going. Do i just order the series 2 split fires or something different with the set up i have. Oh and what is the expected price to pay, ive been told around $600 mark. Cheers.

Yeah mate, but not all mechanics issue the certificates. Try Russel at Autofine performance Labrador, not sure if he does them but he will point you in the right direction.

Yeah they have only done about 100km. I pulled them out and cleaned them thinking that it should be ok to get me to the shop, but its still running like shit and they were'nt that dirty unless there f**ked completly some how.

I have spoken to Dan and i had him booked in a couple of weeks ago. I changed my spark plugs and it was running ok, so i cancelled him. Two days later it was running like shit again, called him again but he is to busy and he lives on the other side of town so it would be hard for him travelling in peak hour traffic just to look at my car. Im thinking i might baby it, but i dont know what damage it might cause to the motor or completly shit itself in morning peak hour, so i dont really want to risk it. My car has been off the road for a while now as i cant get a mechanic to do a home visit. Cant tow it as the front bar is to low and it is not good to take it off. (Long story dont ask). If anyone knows of one that does house calls please let me know. Symtoms i:- The car is sounding like an outboard motor.
