  3. just so you know, I have an autometer boost gauge and a profec b and both gauges read identical (dont think the profec b is gonna be wrong!) just to give you an idea of accuracy, is I know its only boost and the electronic fuel and oil may be a bit more complex..
  4. the pressure would be around 40psi on a stocker, and woudlnt really vary that much when you give it a hit. + if your pressure was low your car would probably not be running rite. its either the fualty sender, or possibly the thread tape, but in that case it wouldnt work at all. wouldnt be an air bubble coz it would just clear itself within a split second, and definatly not no.4 its probably just the sender.

  6. autometer does like a 1 3/4 inch one for memory, all the big 8's have them.

Just trying to clear out some of the stuff in my garage so 2 setes of R33 series 2 RB25 coilpacks for $50 + post Good condition, you have 12 to choose from these were taken out of mine and a mates cars as we did a group buy on splitfires, but are fine for average modded cars. Located in Sydney get in fast!
  13. As topic states, R33 LSD diff although is very tightly locked, like a 1.5 or 2 way. Not sure whats in it exactly but works awesome for the 'express u-turn'. Chirps when turning around tight corners at low speed for that heavy race-drift feel! Had in the car for over a year and has never single legged on me. Asking $400 for complete bolt in diff, but I am negotiable no reasonable offer refused! (centres are up to $1500 alone that do the same thing!). Located in Sydney but can post at buyers expense or even spit it depending on how much I get for it. Selling due to putting big rims on and lowering the car as I just live the 'show' life for a while so a monster diff isnt required! Post and PM me!
  14. by boost i mean exhaust pressure or boost pressure, as my theroy is if im not making boost its either bcause its pissin out through a leak before it gets to the turbo, or after the turbo has made the boost BUT before it gets to the plenum (which is where the guage is tapped off) I have tried 2 boost controllers both with the same problem - and even tried it with no boost controller and im only getting 10psi out of a 14psi gate.
  15. Ok, after having grief getting my boost controller to work, I have narrowed it down to it being a boost or exhaust leak. Im thinking its either from either 1) exhuast i.e manifold to ext wastegate or turbo to manifold or manifold to engine or no. 2) somewhere along the intercooler piping to throttle body. Basically what it does, is no boost past 15psi with any boost controller turned up to max, and with no boost controller - running it straight of the ext wastegate I only see bout 10psi, when it has a 14psi spring. My question is is there any way to tell where the leak is from (1 or 2)? Just would like to get a heads up before I start ripping off impossible to get to wastegates. Cheers in adavanced.

  18. was running 24psi with the old boost controller and thats the only chnage i made. gonna rip thw wastegate off and see whats the go with the seal
  19. ok peaople an update.. got the Manual BC back in and funnily enough i can only get the thing up to abotu 16 17psi! and thats with the thing screwed up the whole way. so i mustnt be boost controller after all... thinking maybe a flange/exhaust leak somewhere around the wastegate? Any other ideas ?
  20. Ok done a direct line from the wastegate to the pressure side of the turbo to see what boost i get - after giving it a bit of a squirt the most i saw was the same 9psi. This tells me that the wastegate spring either is 9psi not 14psi like i thought it was, or something may be leaking as Keymaker said. But, if something was leaking, wouldnt that make the thing reaaly sluggish and laggy al the way? ... in the meantime im gonna go hook up the turbotech..
  21. yeh im going to try and run no BC just to see if the wastegate is fcuked on the way to putting in the humble bleed valve. will post up results!
  22. + 1 for broken exhaust manifold studs RB's come factory with this had VL's and liners with it. Also shit the turbo gasket which is how i noticed the studs, this made it sound like I had some birds nested in my engine bay.
  23. I was reccomended to a guy a few years back, have been using him ever since - John 0412 431 469 he's mobile too so he can come to your place usually whenever if you give enough notice. I just get him to do interior as i do the rest myself but he does the works - inside outside engine bay etc. for those who are less motivated !
