  2. Hey people, Extremely frustrated at what was supposed to be an 'upgrade' from a Turbosmart dual stage is turning out to be a bastard of a thing. What I have is a Greddy Profec Spec 2 ebc which I thought would make the thing a bit more snappy with the right settings, this is installed on a externally gated setup (turbosmart pro gate 38), I have tried plumbing it up in 3 different ways all delivering similar results - 1 like the EXTERNALLY gated way in the ebc manual, 2 the INTERNALLY gated way in the manual, and 3 another way which I had found through searching on through other threads - after 3 goes at it I thought I deserve my own thread! All the setups I have tried have used different combos of the COM and ON ports on the solenoid. Also tried it removing the little filter which runs on the vacuum line going to the incabin unit. Just so you know, + and - is taken from the cigarette lighter/headunit ACC power and the vacuum line is T-pieced of a Vacuum line going to the ECU which was already T pieced of the fuel prssure reg (as instructed in the manual). Now, I know its no other part of the setup (cooler piping, FMIC) as the old dual stage boost controller worked fine, and I also chucked in a turbotec $30 thing off ebay which also worked a treat boost past 20psi+, so I have ruled out any other causes. Also the Greddy unit I am using was brand new so I doubt there could be any faults with the unit. The problem? Basically the bloody thing just wont boost past 15psi. I have a good idea of tuning the thing and with values set to 'as high as it can go' I still dont see anything past 15psi which is painful. I have also had a mate look at it who has the same boost controller on his relatively standard setup who is also baffled on what the problem is! The next weird thing which has really headf***ed me?... as I said... I have a turbosmart progate 38 which has a 14psi spring setup in it - so you would think that with the boost controller turned off I would see 14psi max as it would be just running off the gate - but no, with the controller TURNED OFF I only get about 9psi out of it - yes, less than the spring setup - how this is possible? I have No idea. So from what you have read christmas isnt all that merry for my forced induction. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated as I am about 4 minutes away from saying f** ebc and bleed valve ftw! which I dont want to as I have seen what these things can do when they actually work. Any help appreciated PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE.

Hi I am after a R33 series 2 front grill, any colour, just no dodgy paint jobs as my last grill was unsprayable due to the mess it had on it from a shit paint job. - so preffereably one that just has factory paint on it. If anyone knows where I can grab these new that would be heaps sick also. Looking to fit up in the new year so I have time find the best offer! - but will pick up a good deal straight away. Thanks people - also still chasing a left Series 2 door trim.
  6. +1 closer to the throttle body the better apparently to, GTR ones are perfect untill you hit about 21psi after that I hit up a Plazmaman one, they do the plumback/trumpet interchangeable bovs which allow you to switch between plumb back and atmo.
  7. pull your back seat out and then your parcel shelf out and then the grills have nuts holding them to the shelf from underneath for memory, speakers are then just screwed to the body. your car should probably have all the hooks n shit ready for child restraints from when it was complianced..

  13. For sale is a Turbosmart Dual Stage Boost Controller for any turbo car, Allows you to have 2 boost settings with the slick of a switch - high and low boost set them to whatever you like. Stealth series in black comes with red rocket switch which is brand new and unused, Comes with all mounting brackets to install - complete kit Asking $150 in Sydney + post, retail for almost double that new - this one is good as new only been in car for a few months, still have the original box. Selling due to getting a EBC It is the model before the one in the pic below, pretty much the same except for the sticker on it.

  16. if it was a stocker id say def coil packs.. could still be the case but obviously the thing has been played with so maybe something else.. if it arcs up in the wet it might be because your not loading the car up therfore not as much boost getting pumped through it hense not shitting itself.. thats what makes me think coilpacks

  19. its the line that goes from an external wastegate to the turbo - which is bypassed by the boost controller t piece or bleed valve (whichever your weapon of choice).. in this case im guessin your reffereing to the after cooler before the TB, why is that?
  20. About to put in a new EBC on my GT35 setup and wondering if it matters how far the pressue feed is in relation to the turbo. I notice on some they tap the fitting straight into the front cover of the turbo, i have mine in the intercooler piping just after the turbo elbow, say 30cmm pipe length away from the outlet of the turbo.. My question is will this affect the response/reading/signal in any way for my boost controller as i am thinking of tapping a fiting straight into the cover of the turbo if neccessary, obviously dont want to have to go to the effort if its not neccessary. Have experiences with an rb25 with an 3582 .63 external gate 38mm, holds beautifully, which just a dual stage bleed valve (no ebc as yet) Logic would tell you me that if your having boost control issues its from your wastegate or bc. size of the rear end will just cause lag etc as explained above. 3582 may seem big for a stock 25 but comparing to say a GT30, the 35 may come on a bit later but when it comes its well worth the wait, just an effortless tyre fryer.
