2001 Skyline R34 GTR - BNR34 RB26 KV2 Sparkling Silver, late model black interior 124500 kms $85,000 Sadly looking for a new home for my much loved GTR - I need to finance a truck load of nappies for my new born's arse. It's been well cared for (the GTR, not the arse), with regular services and oil changes. It's been mildly modified to give a little extra power and better handling, but with reliability as the focus. Running at about 320kw at the hubs and never misses a beat. I've owned it since it was exported form Japan in 2007 and will provide a log and receipts for work done and mods. Generally in good condition, but a few signs of wear and tear (a few stone chips and interior scuffs). Plates are not included in the sale price, but can be negotiated separately. PM me if you're interested. Here’s a list of some of the modifications: Nismo Z tune front bumper with lower lip and colour coded front spoiler Nismo 320 kph gauge cluster TEIN Flex Mono fully adjustable coil overs TEIN Electronic Damping Force Controller Nismo front lower control arms Skylab torque split controller Performance Friction two piece slotted front brake rotors, DBA slotted rear rotors Performance Friction pads all round Goodridge braided brake lines Kakimoto stainless exhaust Blitz 80mm stainless downpipe Garrett GT2860R-7 uprated turbos (N1 spec) Intercooler polished hard pipes HKS supersound sequential iv blow off valve (recirculating) Tomei 600cc injectors Nismo AFMs Apexi air filters Apexi Power FC ECU, boost controller and hand controller GReddy oil cooler ProAlloy 40mm core radiator Samco silicone hoses Polished washer tank GTR embossed fuse box cover TEIN gas bonnet struts -
I see CAMS have clarified the requirement for two bonnet catches in this year's Motorsport Handbook.. "In a speed event, a road registered series production car fitted with an unmodified original equipment two-stage fastening system shall be exempt from these requirements"

I dunno though, with the backing of CAMS this one may have a bit more behind it, but I'd imagine the $200m might be a problem given that the state Government are broke. It just needs someone in there who can visualise the potential and realise that there is a gap in the list of world class sporting venues in Melbourne. We live in hope!

Yeah, fair enough. To be clear, SAU has no links with this page and nor does any other organization - it's just an attempt to draw together the information that is out there and create some awareness about the proposals for the circuit. Nothing more than that. Have a look and if you like it, 'Like' it, if you don't then don't. Cheers Dave (Apologies that the SAU logo image was left over from developing the page: it has been removed now. The SAU track images were an idea that the club could sell/give as decals to people who participated in track days and were not related to that page)

Umm, I didn't say anything about the debate being on the Facebook page - I just said this was where the information on the track was. The general 'public debate' is what I was referring to. Go easy on me - I'm just trying to create a bit of public support and a space for people to share ideas - the page has only been live for two hours, so 7 likes isn't bad so far!

Hi All, Who wants an international standard race track and motorsports facility at Avalon? The debate is hotting up and the more public support this gets, the more likely the Government and private business is to fund it. Some potential plans for the track and complex have been drawn up and they look awesome - check them out at this Facebook page and be sure to 'Like it' to show your support. Cheers Dave http://www.facebook.com/pages/Race-Track-at-Avalon/315173515181213

Check out these sites too. There's a load of reseach and stats that may be useful. I think speed cameras are a way of life now and we just have to live with them. The pros and cons sort of balance each other out. Interestingly, the new Australian National Road Safety Strategy states that road infrastructure improvements (i.e. safer roads) are where the biggest gains will be in further reducing the road toll, not continuing to try to flog the education/enforcement thing. These are the rules...(from Vicroads Roadworthy) "Wear or Damage During the service life of a vehicle, the windscreen and windows may incur various types of damage. Testers are advised that deterioration from the as new condition is allowable and a windscreen or window with minor damage should not be rejected. A windscreen should only be rejected if; it is discolored, badly scratched, fractured or chipped within the area wiped by the windscreen wiper(s) to the extent that the drivers vision is so impaired that the vehicle cannot be driven safely; or, in the case of a laminated windscreen, it has any crack that penetrates more than one layer of glass, or in the case of a laminated windscreen, it has one or more bulls eyes or star fractures over 16mm in diameter or one or more cracks over 150mm in length in a single layer of glass within the area wiped by the windscreen wiper(s). One or more bulls eyes or star fractures up to 16mm in diameter and cracks up to 150mm in length in a single layer of glass within the area wiped by the windscreen wiper(s), are allowable provided that they do not impair the drivers vision to the extent that the vehicle cannot be driven safely. " Seems that some testers don't know their cracks from their bulls eyes. One tester I went to said he'd fail me for tiny chips in my windscreen (which clearly didn't meet any of the above criteria), but it got a clean bill of health from another tester. It's a right pain in the butt that testers are so inconsistent! Can't help you with a tester in that area though, sorry.

Thanks for that - I'll get on to getting my CAMS licence then. Cheers Dave

Finally got my car registered, so I'm looking to do some track work this year. Can someone point me in the direction of where I can find out some more info on the SAU days, such as: 1) How much the events cost? 2) How I put my name down? 3) What the format of the day is (e.g. open pit, sessions etc.)? 4) Are there any non-competitive days? 5) Do I need a CAMS licence on top of my SAU membership? (and which one?) I've done a fair amount of searching, but can't seem to find the answers to these questions. Cheers Dave
