  6. I have already purchased a set for quite cheap. Just wanting to know if the misfiring/spluttering under acceleration is a symptom of collapsed lifters
  7. Bump, got any ideas guys?
  8. Hey guys, Not long ago, i posted up a thread cause i had a loud ticking noise coming from my engine somewhere....and with the support of you guys we found that it would most likely be the Hydraulic Lifters making the ticking noise. I have since located a set of second hand lifters and the car is due to go in next week for repair. But before it does i have one question as i have found another symptom that has arised. Whilst driving the car in normal conditions say along a highway, if i drop it back a gear and accelerate fairly hard, probably about 1/2 to 3/4 power...the engine will jump momentarily, a kind of misfire.... is this typical to a lifter issue? (im not very clued up on this kinda stuff) Thanks guys.
  9. Very easy. The bov bolts on to the pipe as you can probably see. Undo both those bolts and the BOV will come loose. Then that all remains is the plug the plumback hose....Few ways you can do this, but i just use a rubber hose plug from the hardware/marine shop. Pretty easy really. Im assuming your replacing it with an Atmospheric BOV? If so that is why u plug the plumback hose, if not...tis a bit different.
  10. Name: Sam Location: Brisbane Car: 33gtst msn: [email protected] Einstein u owe me a CD Oh, and im in brissy now...so tuesday night dinners for me woot!

Paying almost double than the jobs i had on the coast...so im stoked No minijam for me, weeknights are for sleep and weekends are taken up lately sorting shit out for the house how's the missus going?
  12. sup stringer, yer 33 is going 'ok'....lifters are f**ked, i have the replacements....but ive just moved to brisbane and finding it hard to get some time to find a decent mechanic who wants to do the work so u 4 door went, wat model u gonna look for now dude?

  16. it does sound like a v8 i reckon.....and there is one stage in the video where he comes into a corner and u can hear quite loud turbine spool....worth a listen
  17. The real question here is after 89,000 clips, why is it that the multi-direction flip ability it has to fold back on itself has failed slightly so that its now sitting lower than standard. Is it possible that this particular could have been lowered for japanese clipper drifting?
  18. yer ive never been pulled over either hey...had mine for about 6 months now.
  19. So josh sends me the link to this thread at 10.38pm and im all like "this is just gonna be a link to the Sunshine Coast chat Post Thread and its gonna all suck uno?" and it turn out to be really funny. f**k.
  20. well i bought mine from japan without driving it before buying and as soon as i got it it blew smoke....so i rebuilt the bottom end. now i have head issues with my hydraulic lifters going (dont do long skids and bounce of rev limiter with shifting gears in order to get big flames out ur exhaust) so im not so happy....but if i was nice i wouldnt have those problems
  21. For cruises check out the event section But good to hear u want an r33....i have one myself that i imported from japan so i am the first aussie owner. However i will say that its good to try and find one here as u can drive and test it before u get it. Dont get one from a dealer unless ur going thru a broker, who will be able to screw down the price any other advice, just ask.
  22. Just so you guys know in case for future reference... The noise did turn out to be Hydraulic Lifters...i picked up a second hand set for $100 here on the forums and did the job myself So if you hear a loud metal on metal ticking noise that escalates with more revs....take the head off and have a look Thanks guys.
  23. buy a tiida looooooooooooooooooooooooool thinking of selling the line for an SR....
